| Barbara's
Daily BuzzFlash Minute
A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. August 27, 2004 I can't help but wonder why CNN is reporting that the not-so-swiftboatvets ads are hurting Kerry and not, "THE SWIFTBOATVETS ads have backfired on Bush because they only personify how the Repuglicans will stop at nothing, including lying about any opponent they see as able to dethrone Bush!" I'm fed up with that bunch at CNN. They've become nothing more than FOX NEWS mimics! * * * Dennis Hastert, whose penchant for self-indulgence is reflected in his countenance, should be the last person in the world to criticize anyone for being "greedy"! Promises made and promises unkept is what happened in New York, and now the GOP wants to slither out of an agreement they made when it was politically advantageous for them to do so! * * * George
Bush's "trickle down" theory has seemingly not had much
of an impact on the economy by creating jobs, but it sure has been effective
in some other areas. Take the Abu Ghraib abuse for example, when Bush said, "We'll
do whatever it takes," it trickled down sounding like a green light
go for undertrained, undermanned, inexperienced prison staff to get the
job done no matter what. Then there's the matter of some not-so-swiftboatvets
ads, George Bush's penchant for lies and innuendo has trickled down to
include the use of said sleazy tactics by those vets to slur and scandalize
the reputations of any and all who choose to oppose Bush and his insane
policies. And finally, Bush's bullying, hate-filled behavior has trickled
down reflecting on every member of the Repuglican party, they all seem
to have an axe to grind with someone! August 26, 2004 So much for the image of a brave bold leader. You know, that guy named George Bush, who was afraid to face triple amputee Max Cleland! It goes right along with not appearing in front of a legitimate diverse audience, protest zones, tickets to gain admittance, signing oaths of loyalty, flying into Iraq secretly in the dead of night, barring soldiers from a much earned Turkey dinner at Thanksgiving because they don't agree with your policy, etc. etc. etc. Come on, there's nothing brave or bold in this illegitimate president! * * * Don't you just have to know that Ginsberg, Rove, Bush, and their cronies, thinking they had accomplished a real coup, were sitting back and chortling about all the free publicity the not-so-swiftboat vets were getting from scandal mongering mainstream media replays. They hadn't counted on getting caught in so many places. They hadn't counted on John Kerry saying enough already, don't mess with my record! I say good riddance to bad rubbish! * * * There is something twisted in one who claims to be "pro-life," but will not consider the life of the mother who carries the fetus or has no qualms about using "shock and awe," knowing that innocent lives will be lost! I am reminded of an old saying when I think of George Bush: "The man who pretends to be clothed in righteousness is always a misfit." * * * A message to Log Cabin Repuglicans: You should have known that George Bush will use you, abuse you, and then inter you when it's advantageous for him! In case you hadn't noticed, that is the historical pattern of his whole life. For example, he used the National Guard to avoid service in Vietnam, he used his father's influence to provide a safe haven, he didn't fulfill his obligation to the Guard or his country, and then finally buried the records of his involvement. Sound familiar? He used you for your vote, ignored your plea for civil rights, and now he's canning you to garner favor from his larger base of supporters. * * * August 25, 2004 Mr. Bush said: "I think Senator Kerry served admirably and he ought to be proud of his record." John Kerry is proud of his record, but Mr. Bush, ARE YOU? If you answer in the affirmative, how about really releasing all of your records regarding your service in the National Guard? * * * "It's pretty hard to argue [over the circumstances that led to] Bob Dole's Purple Heart," Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry told the Associated Press. The mere fact that Perry doesn't know Bob Dole admittedly received his first Purple Heart from an accidentally self-inflicted wound, just goes to show you how much these Repuglicans either don't know or choose to ignore! * * * Want to know how to have your vote counted in the November elections -- call your local Secretary of State and tell them that if the votes cannot be verified in November, then the equipment should be deemed faulty and returned for a full refund from the manufacturer! It was your tax money that purchased the voting equipment, so you have the right to demand an accounting. When the manufacturer's profits are threatened, watch how fast they will come up with a solution to insure a verified vote. * * * August 24, 2004 There is a big difference between the not so swiftboatvets ads and the MoveOn.org ads -- the truth! The not-so-swiftboatvets are willingly prostituting themselves for Karl Rove and George Bush by spreading lies against John Kerry, while the MoveOn ads are eloquently relaying the truth to the American people regarding George Bush's record. * * * "Clackamas County prosecutor, Alfred French, a senior deputy district attorney and decorated Vietnam veteran who appears in an ad attacking Democratic presidential contender John F. Kerry's war record said he did not witness the events in question and is relying on the accounts of his friends who served with the senator." Just another Repuglican prosecutor relying on HEARSAY to make his case. * * * The also not so swift: Bush administration is attempting to cover their ass by having Col. Cordier leave the campaign after he was involved with the not so Swiftboatvets ad! How can anyone think the Bush administration was not involved? Nothing subliminal here, it has the Rove/Bush nasty politics stamp all over it. It's time for John Kerry to take off the gloves of civility and use his courage to define the "enemy," because the reward is far greater than even a Silver Star -- it is rescuing this nation and its people from those who wish to do us harm! * * * August 23, 2004 Once a prostitute always a prostitute: Bob Dole just can't help himself. That Viagra has done as much for his mouth as his other parts -- his false sense of performance is matched by a false sense of heroism! * * * Jeb Bush's attempts to scare the bejezzus out of elderly black voters is another example of how the Bush administration is attempting to return America to an era long since gone. Bush most certainly will be surprised when black voters turn out in droves to prove it takes more than some spoiled rich Repuglican sleazeball to take away their inalienable rights! * * * When are people going to wake up? America already has an intelligence czar position! Her name is Condoleezza Rice. The Iraq war is proof positive that when the president appoints someone to do the job, intelligence will be fashioned to attain the goals of the president! * * * Congressman
Shays, I ask you, "How long before the Repuglican party realizes
George Bush is the rotten apple causing the whole barrel to stink? How
long before you realize his 'method' of
governance is rubbing off on all of you?" Thanks to George, everyone
in the Repuglican party
looks like a
bunch of crooks that can't be trusted to give us the time
of day! They have no integrity, there's no justice, and the tone
was set right from the beginning when he stole the office that does
not
rightfully belong to him! |
