FAQ

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

Sadly, George W. Bush does not read newspapers nor, it appears, much else. He depends entirely on his staff for analysis of Foreign Policy, Homeland Security, the state of the Economy, the Budget, the Deficit, Energy, the Environment, Healthcare, the War on Terrorism, and the War in Iraq. Based on the results of his staff's advice, it might behoove him to read a newspaper every once in a while.

How many more have to die before Americans wake up? How long before America realizes, George Bush and gang have opened a quagmire that is getting worse and not better. While George, due to lack of experience, responsibility, and intellect, may not have known what would happen after the invasion (after all Poppy has always been there to clean up George's messes), the rest of the gang, if they are as intellectual as they purport to be, should have known! Excuse me if I don't agree that we are winning the war, when people are still dying on a daily basis!

It is beyond me how anyone can support George W. Bush and still call themselves Christian! Bush LIED and 500+ soldiers are dead or more are dying each day! Bush LIED and thousands of innocent Iraqis are dead! No amount of praying, can change those facts. No amount of repentance will bring back the lives taken in a war based on LIES! It's one thing to make mistakes, but quite another to deliberately tell LIES that result in the death of others!

You're darn right Dumbya should be held accountable! While Dumbya likes to shout about accountability, he doesn't want to be held to the same standards he imposes on others. Yes, the public is entitled to know he waltzed into the National Guard in order to avoid Vietnam and then couldn't even show up for the required, occasional duty! No amount of rhetoric can change what he didn't do and no amount of wishing it isn't so will change his dereliction of duty. It's about time America knows that the man ordering our sons and daughters into war was AWOL in Alabama!

Senator Kerry, the Bush administration has no problem attacking your record in the Senate! We would be well advised to look intently at the Bush record of service to his country during a time of war. We owe it to all those names on the WALL, and to the men who served their country in Vietnam! Americans deserve to know the truth. Wealth and privilege does not excuse a slacker!

Abandoning the army comes in many forms and should be treated with swift justice. Heads should roll when the troops don't have the necessary equipment to fight a war! To send men and women into battle with defective or no equipment is intolerable. Where are all those voices shouting patriotism now? Why is mainstream media silent when it comes to the DOD's non-support of our troops? We were assured this administration knew what they were doing, we were told they were "experienced"! Experienced my rear-end! When American soldiers don't have what they need during war time and big business is overcharging for meals, the whole world has to know there's bull-shit going on somewhere!

AHA, RICIN! Didn't you know that something was going to happen? Didn't you know, because George's ratings have plunged, that something would happen to scare the bejeezus out of Americans? An elevated terror threat Code Orange has been used so much that "Wolf" comes to mind, but now it's "Beware of the Mail" again! Safe, ha! Exactly who do we need to protect ourselves from? Seems mighty suspicious that every time Americans disapprove of Bush, Americans are threatened!

As I listen to Joe Lieberman's shtick for why to vote for "Joe-mentum," I wonder, do they really want the whole country to be right wing whacko conservatives? I am a liberal. I am proud to be a liberal. The last thing I want is a conservative posing as a liberal for president, especially since that's what's perched in the stolen White House right now. Why on God's green (not for long if the Repugs have their way) earth would I want to vote for someone just like Bush? I want someone who realizes that we are all human beings, born equally in the eyes of God, with a mandate from God to lift up those who are most in need, not someone who wants to put more money in the bank for those who are camels trying to get through the eye of the needle.

Ohh, those Repuglicans and their obsessions! They've hemmed and hawed over whether to investigate the failure to find WMD's in Iraq for several days, but oh my God, anything sexual requires an immediate investigation! It would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic --less than 24 hours after Ms. Janet Jackson's breast was exposed during the Super Bowl half time show, either by accident or by design, the FCC, at the behest of Mr. Michael Powell, will launch a formal investigation into Ms. Jackson's boobies! Could Mr. Powell's investigation require further and repeated viewings of said boobies? Hmmm, I wonder!

When the president of the United States speaks seriously of "permission slips" and "wanting to know what went wrong" regarding his reasons to go to war or when mainstream media has a group of giggling broadcasters reporting titillating gossip as news or when American companies are overcharging for K-rations and gasoline during wartime or when evolution is described as a "buzzword" or when Congressional Representatives overrule the will of the public, you have to know that we've stepped through the looking glass and down the Repuglican hole. Whatever happened to wanting a leader with the brainpower to run the country or the news reported with the gravity it warrants or patriotism supporting our troops or responsible education or the will of the people? Oh, I forget, George Bush stole the presidency and led this nation into chaos!

* * *

With the help of mainstream media, David Kay, and the Repuglican members of Congress, George Bush is attempting to deflect attention from himself and refocus on the intel community the negative publicity regarding the existence of WMD's and his lies about the reasons for waging war! George Bush told us we were in imminent danger, he told us Saddam had WMD's, he warned us about "mushroom clouds," he said Saddam was acquiring nuclear capability, and he ordered the troops into Iraq. HE is responsible for the deaths of over 500 American soldiers, HE is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqis, and HE lied to the people of America. While imminent, mushroom clouds, and nuclear weapons may not have been his exact words, he never refuted those words when members of his cabinet used them and he never denied that the words were used. He should be held accountable, and I am sick to death of his lame brain excuses and his attempts to slough off. He sounds like some little kid trying to tell his mother, "I didn't do it!"

While listening to all the right wing tongue-flappers (a.k.a. mainstream media pundits) pondering why their boy Bush has taken a downward plunge in the polls and why Democrats are doing better, I have to chuckle. These dorks don't even realize that finally, yes finally, thanks to their coverage of the Democratic candidates campaigning, the truth about George W. Bush is getting out to the general population. The attempts to debase the Democrats has backfired on the right wing wind bags of mainstream media. Sooner or later, truth does triumph!

* * *

Bush's new slogan: CYA and blame the CIA! Thanks to Poppy's friend David Kay, that's just what this administration is attempting to do! Bush has lied, our soldiers have died and no amount of massaging the details will change the facts. It's time to demand accountability for the deaths of our soldiers and all the innocent people who died as a result of the lies used to wage a war!

* * *

While George Bush likes to run helter skelter shouting "accountability" about children and those who educate them, he doesn't lead by example. He has not yet accepted responsibility nor been held accountable for any of his actions or inactions. Whether it be stealing the presidency, record unemployment, the wasted economy, or his wars, he has confused, lied, dodged, and avoided responsibility. Given his history, what else could have been expected! It's about time he's called to task for his "misunderestimations"!
