FAQ

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

The dictionary defines terrorism as political violence or the threat of violence carried out for political purposes. That would also define what Bob Novak and two senior administration officials did to Valerie Plame. If indeed we are in a war on terrorism, then don't you think it advisable to prosecute the "homeland" terrorists? If this government does not bring to justice those who would commit treason, then the war on terrorism is meaningless.

Take a long look at Fort Stewart Georgia and you'll see how much George Bush cares about the troops in the military. That $87 billion hasn't even bought them adequate medical care. If Saxby Chambliss and Zell Miller can't clean up the problems at home, then how the hell do you think they can do it in Washington? In case you haven't heard, Chambliss is the Junior Repuglican Senator and Miller is the Pseudo-Repuglican Senator representing Georgia. Is this the thanks they get from the moron for supporting his every whim? Where's all that Patriotism they've been throwing at us now?

VETO?! Now who's abandoning the troops? George and the Radical Repuglicans may have thought themselves clever for including appropriations for the troops in an Iraqi reconstruction bill, but sometimes justice can come back to bite you in the ass! If George Bush vetoes this bill, he is the one denying the troops. It's time for Americans to stand up for what's right -- it's time to say no to Dumbya and tell him, "you're darn right it's our money and you can't spend it on your friends and family." We want an accounting of where this money is going. We support the troops, not Halliburton, Bechtel, and all the Bush family and friends.

It is my opinion that the United States is certainly responsible for repairing and reconstructing whatever damage was done to Iraq as a result of the war, including reparations to families who lost their loved ones. I also believe that any improvements deemed necessary to get that country up and running are the responsibility of the Iraqi people and anyone interested in doing business in Iraq. The cost of improvements should be shared by those who expect to conduct business in that country, including other interested countries. American taxpayers should not have to pay to create a paradise for corporations eager to turn a handsome profit.

It is an outrage when political image is more important than respect for the troops who have given their lives in service of their country. A positive Bush image should never usurp honoring the return of our dead soldiers. The very least we can do for these young men and women is to show them the dignity and respect they have more than earned. While an honor guard supporting their arrival cannot replace them, it can show their families we care about them and their sacrifice.

To all those unaware that CNN has become more of a Bush suck up than FOX, take a look at the discrepancy in the CNN Gallup poll numbers for the Bush approval rating and every other poll done at that time! CNN flooded the airwaves with a 56% approval rating for Bush, while the others hover at 49% to 52%. The American people cannot trust mainstream media to present an objective view of current events. The truth has been completely abandoned by mainstream media for ratings and underlying ulterior motives.

I wonder how far the moron would have gone in school if he had to be accountably tested and Poppy had been a regular Joe? Could #2 have passed the tests he believes so necessary for the children? Could he pass that test if he took it today? Given what we've seen so far in his performance, it's a great big I DON"T THINK SO!!

Was it a mistake?? Yesterday on the tube, I saw Bush at a State Dinner somewhere on his tour -- he was filmed, though fleetingly, taking a quick sip from what looked like a champagne or martini glass after a toast had been offered. Didn't see that particular flash point again, but I know I saw it the first time. Did mainstream media edit the film so the American people wouldn't see Dumbya nipping?

If we truly want to overcome terrorism, then we must begin at home. We cannot allow the crimes against Valerie Plame to go unprosecuted. To destroy a family member for revenge, because her husband exposed the fact that this administration lied, is terrorism in its most basic form. We cannot allow that to happen in our country. To stand-by and not demand justice, while whoever in this administration -- an administration gone wild -- gets away with committing this act of treason, is allowing terrorism to win.

Not only is Bush spending our money to enrich his friends -- Halliburton, Bechtel, et. al. -- he is also establishing a savings account as well! Just who will control all that oil being pumped in Iraq? Just exactly who will profit from all that oil in Iraq? Have the Iraqis jumped from the frying pan into the fire, now that the Bushies are in the drivers seat? This is Democracy Bush-style: do unto others before they can do it to you, all for me and no one else!

George W. Bush, having bullied his Mother and Poppy all his life and gotten away with it, has not changed, even though he is finding the world a different set of circumstances. There are those who do not see him in the same light and will not succumb to the immature demands he made of his parents. He is a child in a man's body doing childish things that are resulting in injury to a multitude of people. It's time to take a stand and just say no to George Bush!

Is the Bush arrogance, in the face of falling poll numbers, because he knows the fix is in (touch screen voting with no paper trail)? Has mainstream media painted a positive picture to cover the fact that no one will know anyone who voted for Bush? Did Max Cleland, Roy Barnes, and Gray Davis lose elections because votes had been re-routed to other candidates? Is the public image painted by Bush handlers just to give us a picture of his popularity? Why is Congress not investigating the possibilities of tampering with our most cherished right -- the right to vote? Can America really endure another 4 years of Bush?
