Daily BuzzFlash Minute |

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. October 17, 2003 Hmm, let's count the Bush successes. Let me see . . . no Osama, no Saddam, a quagmire in Iraq, more terrorists joining ranks everyday, no anthrax mailer, no definitive answers to 9-11. Um, excuse me, are there any successes??? Oh, yeah I forgot, thanks to the Patriot Act, this administration has managed to incarcerate one old hippie from the 60's, Tommy Chong, for selling glass pipes (better known as bongs). Wow, now doesn't that make all of America feel safer?? FREE TOMMY CHONG!!! [BuzzFlash Note: Might we also add that Bush has neither permanently incarcerated a single thieving CEO nor found the "senior administration official" who leaked Valerie Plame's name. And that "integrity" he said he was bringing to the White House must still be packed in a box somewhere, because it sure isn't available for public viewing.] * * * PASS THE BARF BAG! CNN is planning a rerun of "A Flyboy's Story" on George H.W. Bush and his so-called agony over why he survived when he and two members of his flight crew were shot down during WWII. Give me a break. I've read other accounts of this incident that aren't exactly like the story Poppy tells, and it's disgusting that CNN and Paula Zahn keep trying to put out a poor, pitiful, sympathy grabbing, pro-Bush production. It's called suck up, groveling television and I find it appalling that CNN would sink to these depths. * * * A question for Rep. George Nethercutt (R-Wash): How would your mother feel if one of those soldiers who died in Iraq was you and some BLOW-HARD Radical Repuglican Congressman told her that having the lights on in Iraq was more important than your death? Would you think it was callous? Insensitive? Intolerable? Outrageous? Enough to run him out of town on a rail? You're damn right it is! * * * The hammering Wes Clark is taking from mainstream media and all those big wigs at the Pentagon, past and present, only goes to show they're worried -- the polls show Clark ahead of Bush, nationwide. George has commanded and his tin soldiers are obeying -- "Get Wes Clark, do whatever it takes but get rid of him, because he can whup my ass!" Heartwarming, to say the least, that the moron is afraid of a true gentleman and a scholar. * * * October 16, 2003 I want to say a resounding THANK YOU! When career government officials come forward with the facts, this country better sit up and take notice. After having seen what this administration will do to destroy the lives of anyone brave enough to bring us the truth, we should be grateful for the courage it takes for them to speak out. After watching the 60 Minutes II interview with Greg Thielmann and reading the PBS interview transcript, I realize their are still people in government with integrity. I realize the risk he's taking, and I want to say a resounding THANK YOU for exposing the lies told by this administration to wage an unjustifiable war. * * * The same moron who told us Iraq was an imminent threat, is now telling us the quagmire in Iraq is positively noteworthy. Yeah, and pigs fly in January! When is America going to wake up and realize we have suffered a coup by a bunch of maniacs. The insanity of the quagmire has grave consequences for American troops in Iraq. The insanity of the Bush administration has grave consequences for Americans everywhere. God, it's time for someone with some wisdom to take charge and start impeachment proceedings against the whole administration. * * * It's going to take more than a gold halo and a posed picture to make a saint out of the moron! It takes integrity, honesty, real compassion, a love for the least among us, a desire to feed the poor, a desire to heal the sick, genuine good will towards others, and most of all, not killing innocent people! Sorry, George, a saint you ain't! * * * October 15, 2003 Has Bush named Condi Rice to head up the new Iraqi Stabilization Group because she cannot be called to testify before Congressional committees? Has the Bush administration found yet another way to sidestep Congressional oversight in Iraq? It seems to me that Bush is doing everything he can to succeed in annihilating democracy and establishing a dictatorship. * * * Frankly, it's people like Rush Limbaugh who make it difficult for people who legitimately use use a powerful drug like Oxycontin. Doctors hesitate to prescribe it because of the stigma attached by drug abusers, thus patients with chronic back pain and cancer find themselves limited in obtaining a drug that can give them a better quality of life. If you really want to extend compassion, then send it where it is most needed -- to those whose health requires this drug and not to those who abuse it. * * * Better put on your helmets and flack jackets, because Iraq is not the end of the Bush Crusade! For those who believed "democracy in Iraq" is the beginning of the end, get real. Iraq is to be the hub for George's eternal war on what he has labeled the "evil doers." Evil comes in many forms, and the one we see developing is using the sons and daughters of America in their quest. Death and destruction is intolerable for thinking people, unless and until the leaders invoke God's direction, then all hell and insanity breaks loose. For all intents and purposes, this has become a "my God against your God" and that's insane. * * * Has anyone considered the reason Dumbya doesn't read newspapers or intelligence reports and limits his reading to books written for children with simple sentences and few words with more than three or four letters? Maybe he can't read! We all know he got college degrees thanks to Poppy's money and influence. We're told he flew airplanes in the National Guard, but did anyone ever see him fly? We all know he reads the speeches he gives, but how do we know he hasn't got a bug in his ear with Condi or Karl feeding him the lines? * * * October 14, 2003 To all those who think deregulation will lower your energy bills -- think again. Since deregulation began in my state, our natural gas and electric bills have been higher and the cost continues to escalate. Ken Lay is still running around out there influencing the Repuglican power grid for the electrical monopoly, all the while making money off the backs of the working people in America. And Arnold is going to settle with the energy giants who bilked Californians out of billions. He's proving he's just another Radical Repuglican interested in money and doing favors for the rich guys. * * * Proof that the moron is a moron: "The person who is in charge is me," Bush told Tribune Broadcasting! Sorry George, you've never been in charge -- Karl, Dick, Donald, Condi, and Poppy have been pulling your strings for a long time and you've just been too stupid to realize you're a puppet! * * * Is the mainstream media trembling in their news rooms now that Bush has sent a warning shot across their filtering airwaves? Last time I looked, the filters were all used to help the moron cover up his ineptitude. But, what can you expect from a moron, he doesn't even realize they've put his best image forward (and even that is ugly)! Those pesky Iraqis just won't co-operate with his latest "positive spin" on the quagmire aftermath, the terrorists in Iraq just keep killing American soldiers and innocent people and the press just keeps reporting the numbers to the American people, because the truth on the internet would negate mainstream media's credibility if they didn't! * * * October 13, 2003 Another in a long line of incompetent preparations can be added to the Bush Iraq list -- an unusually high troop suicide number that the Army doesn't have enough mental-health resources in Iraq to treat. They should have known long extended deployments in a war zone would have issues. They should have been prepared. But, as usual, it's Bush and in his rush to war, his rush to pump oil, his rush for power and greed and he forgot the basics. * * * In answer to the question posed by J. Grant Swank, Jr. in his article entitled: "Condoleezza Rice, Will Feminists Take Note" [LINK], most women are smarter than Radical Repuglicans and they do not tend to extol war mongers. Thus far, Ms. Rice has done nothing praiseworthy. She appears to be just another Bush lackey hell bent on doing whatever it takes to assist her boss in his maniacal quest for power and greed. Negligence, cover ups, and outright lies are not something to be proud of having done. * * * If Arnold really thinks his argument for recall was valid, then he needs to bring his broom to Washington and sweep out George Bush! Bush received from Bill Clinton the largest surplus in the history of this country and Bush turned it into the biggest deficit in our history. If indeed these are reasons to oust a sitting governor then surely Bush should be impeached. Now, I'm not advocating Arnold for president, I just want him to do what he does best -- TERMINATE the bad guys for the good of all mankind and then return to the junk heap that gave him life. | |||||
