A collection
of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of
the
day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth
here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's
pushing
Barbara's buttons.

At
least the Brits demand responsibility from their leaders. Can you
imagine Georgie, without a script, having to testify before a judicial
committee about why he ignored the warnings of 9-11, or why he
lied to the American people to wage war on Iraq? If mainstream
media was smart, they would pursue an inquiry -- just think, more
people would tune into the tube for those hearings than those who
watched the O.J. Simpson trial.

Warnings
of future terrorist attacks, Poppy granting interviews with
a tear in his eye, high ranking members of this administration
out
and
about singing Bush praises, trips abroad monitoring progress,
visits to the "wounded," Dick still in hiding, and Bush,
himself, giving more of his bumbling, stumbling interviews -- hmmm,
poll
numbers must be down and Karl's worried again!

With
all this talk about America being the greatest and only
super power in the world, wouldn't you think that now, two years
after 9-11, we should have those who were responsible for
the
worst
attack to ever occur on our soil? Wouldn't you think that
with the resources available to our government we'd be able to
capture
men who ride donkeys? Somehow the bravado and chest beating
coming from the Bush administration rings hollow when we
know Osama
and Saddam are still roaming around.

As
I listen to the children reciting the names of their loved ones lost
on September 11, 2001, grieving in my heart, I can't help but think
that if the Repuglican Congress had given Bill Clinton the authority
to go
after Osama bin Laden in the way he wanted, then these families would
not have lost. As long as the Repugs are assigning blame, let's put
it where it belongs -- with the Repuglican Party, who lost sight
of what was best for America in their zeal to oust an elected, by
the
people, President.

My
heart and my prayers go out to the 9-11 victims and their families.
I pray for the future safety and security of our country.

After
reading that Ted Nugent is being sued for child support, I thought,
just another Radical Repuglican avoiding his responsibilities.
Nugent is an idol of the far right wing, who chooses to talk about
it, rather
than do it, whatever "it" happens to be: family
values, morality, responsibility, or caring about one's children!

The
IRONY of the Iraq war -- Saddam is still at large! Georgie
brought "shock
and awe" down on Iraq, in part because Saddam "after
all, tried to kill my dad," but Georgie hasn't yet accomplished
the ultimate goal -- capturing Saddam. Saddam is still out
there, still running helter skelter, and thumbing his nose.
It must
be true: the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, and Georgie
isn't
any
better the man than Poppy!

I
wonder if "treason" is defined as knowingly betraying national security
classified information, which is what Robert Novak did when
he revealed the identity of a CIA covert operative? He had to know
it
was a fact.
He had to know there would be dangerous consequences for the associated
parties. He had to know it involved national security. Yet,
he printed the story. I am guessing that the objective of
intimidation
must have trumped the possibility of Americans losing their lives
for this egotistic right wing journalist and his "source."

As
I watched Dumbya request 87 billion dollars of our -- the taxpaying
citizens -- money, I paused and thought, he must think he's still
spending Poppy's money!
Somehow
he believes
he's still privy to Poppy's unlimited supply of greenbacks. Boy
are we in trouble.

The
Repuglican Party and mainstream media would continue to tout
their boy Bush, even if he came out and said it would cost the American
tax-payers a "Gazillion Dollars" for whatever he dreams
up next. George Bush is a wet dream for Repuglicans, and a nightmare
for Liberals! We, the patriotic people of America, deserve better
than we've had stuffed down our throats by the Supreme Court. If
America
is to maintain the Constitution and the Democratic Values our country
was founded upon, then we need a regime change!

How
would you feel if a super power bombed your nation, causing the
deaths of thousands of innocent people, marched in and then professed
a
desire that all the terrorists in the world were welcome to practice
their horror on you rather than somewhere else! This is called "rubbing
your nose in it": innocent Iraqi people must endure the
attacks of terrorists, on top of the horrendous reign of Saddam,
the Gulf War, sanctions, and Bush's "shock and awe"! Where's
the compassion and morality in that? Whoever is coming up with this "better
them than me" justification has a screw loose somewhere. It
just goes to show you what happens when an idiot is calling the shots.

I
fail to see the logic in the repeated statements from this president
and his lemmings that "it's better terrorist attacks
are occurring in Iraq"! TERRORIST ATTACKS AGAINST ANY INNOCENT
PEOPLE ARE UNACCEPTABLE NO MATTER WHERE THEY OCCUR! If we are fighting
a global war on terrorism, then we cannot justify terrorism by region.
My God, what have we become when statements from the leadership of
your country are as inane as these? Just how idiotic can it get before
we wake up? |
