FAQ

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

July 11, 2003

Plausible deniability, my behind! The boy posing as president lied. Bush lied to the American people to promote an unnecessary war, where innocent people died. Talk about inhumanity -- what he's done is as bad as any crime against humanity we've ever seen, and then he had the arrogance to pose as a fighter pilot and proclaim victory! Tell that to all those who have died and their families since he claimed "mission accomplished!"

* * *

My grandmother, when referring to a particularly inept action perpetrated by a member of the male population, said "He's a poor excuse for a man!" That pretty well sums it up George W. Bush.

* * *

Repuglicans have become adept at SMOKE and MIRRORS! But when the smoke clears, the reflection is still in the mirror and what we are seeing in George Bush is not a pretty picture.

* * *

Alert! Alert! To the nurses of America: The Bush administration is eliminating any overtime pay you may earn! Nurses and other service providers will qualify, under the new guidelines from the Bush Labor Dept., as those making too much money to be paid overtime. Your efforts, according to the Repuglican philosophy, are not monetarily valued. Caring for others while making and life and death decisions are worthless in their view. All your hard work becomes "just part of the job." Any flex time you may earn can be postponed for up to a year, and then eliminated if desired by your employer. Better sit up and smell the Repuglican way of life, because it stinks.

July 10, 2003

A lie is a funny thing -- once it's been told, it requires more and more of the same to substantiate the original! An age old tenet Bush obviously knows and has become quite adept at doing. He is one big lie after another, only now it's the American people and the nation who must suffer his indiscretions. He lied about his escapades as a young man, he lied about the National Guard, he lied about selling stock, he lied about being compassionate, he stole the presidency, and now his lies caused a war where thousands have lost their lives.

* * *

Oh, how they spin this web of lies! Just who will suffer the consequences? The CIA, the FBI, NSA, Britain, DOD, Congress, the White House staff, the State Dept., the neo-cons, the chicken hawks, mainstream media, conservative pundits, and the right wing radio talk show hosts all seem to have had a hand in this most egregious undertaking. Innocent Iraqi people, American military personnel, and coalition military men are the ones who suffered the consequences of the lies!

* * *

Criminal versus incompetence -- which would you chose? To knowingly invade another country on trumped up charges is criminal, whereas if the lies can be attributed to someone else, then incompetence is the issue. And certainly Karl can overcome this cloud in time. The problem: his incompetence caused the deaths of thousands of innocent people, and our own young men and women. Wake up America, before more and more have to suffer the incompetence and/or the deliberate lies of Dumbya and his administration.

July 9, 2003

So predictable, it would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic! Every time Dumbya has a boo boo, they call out the big guns to cover it up, maintain the terror, and scare the bejeezus out of us. Now that they've had to grudgingly, half-way admit he told a great big whopper to justify an unnecessary war, they're out in force attempting "damage control" to maintain the moron in chief's bogus personae. What a picture they paint -- it's looking more like a stick figure caricature than a masterpiece.

* * *

Just wondering how many children could be fed or how many prescriptions could be filled for the elderly on what it's costing the taxpayers of America to provide security for the wonder-less boy who thinks he is a king? A gun ship off the coast of Goree Island, along with Frogmen, Secret Service, and God knows what else to keep this unpopular, mindless, idiot safe? Give me a break!

* * *

The difference between "security" and SECURITY: when Bush went to Goree Island in Africa, the residents of the island were rounded up and kept at a "football ground" to accommodate his photo-op appearance. When Bill Clinton went, "he shook hands and the people danced." Yes sirree, there are those who are secure and those who must be secured.

* * *

July 8, 2003

During the Clinton era, Repugs and right wing pundits quickly called it lying, today it's called Bush "misspeak." Oh, how the times they do change to accommodate the blowing wind and the mindless moron.

* * *

It seems that the Repugs and some Democrats are expressing concern over Bush's lies about the reasons for war in Iraq. We knew before the first shot was fired that he was lying. We knew he wanted the oil and we knew he planned to invade Iraq and had to find either factual or prevaricated reasons. They can search and place the blame somewhere else, but we know he lied and thousands died needlessly to satisfy his greed.

* * *

The chaos, confusion, death, and destruction occurring in Iraq, now that the war is over, is the very reason wiser men than Bush opted for sanctions over war. Defeating the Iraqi army was never a question, but the aftermath has always been of grave concern. It took a spoiled, irresponsible, unintelligent moron brat to plow ahead, no matter the consequences. After all, he's never had to accept any responsibility for his actions. The whole world is suffering, while he struts.
