FAQ

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

June 18, 2003

To all those speculating how the rich will spend their tax cut, I offer you the first in a series of campaign fundraisers for the moron-in-chief. Over three million dollars raised on hamburger and hot dog fare. That, my dear friends, should tell us something about Bush business as usual. Evidently there is no plan to stop bilking America -- they want to continue until we have no country left and they will spend enormous sums to further that goal.

* * *

While Bush, Rove, and the administration may believe they can "tough it out" and belittle some of the people who are questioning the motives for attacking Iraq, the American people want to know the truth! We want some answers, we want an investigation, and we want public hearings. How could Bush lies be a national security issue? It's his behind he's worried about, not our security. Each day that goes by, more American troops are dying in a war fought for Bush's personal senseless greed and oil.

* * *

Freeing the Iraqi people, my behind! Americans are smart enough to know this war was fought for Bush oil! The American people are beginning to wake up. As more of our troops die at the hands of the terrorists Bush was supposed to annihilate and hasn't, Americans don't like this whole rotten mess. The Iraqi people don't like it either -- their world has been destroyed, their economy no longer exists, and they are living under deplorable conditions, thanks all to Bush. The Iraqis are smart enough to know that the Bushies are the ones who will profit and that they've traded one dictator for another.

* * *

And we thought Ronald Reagan was the consummate actor in politics. Move over Ronnie and make room for Georgie Boy. He reads his lines, slurs his ad-libs, tells the people what they want to hear and then his shadow government hacks away the public benefit. Talk about hypocrisy -- this guy, Dumbya, the moron-in-chief, has topped the charts. He is systematically destroying everything that was good about America.

Suddenly Bush has developed an interest in the economy and jobs for Americans. Could it be, he wants to divert the attention from the ill-fated reasons for war? Could he want to shift the attention from the fact that American troops are still dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? This guy is a loser and we better wake up while there is still a country to save -- OURS!

* * *

The vast right wing conspiracy is depending on past success -- if you tell a lie often enough, their are those who will believe it to be true. The right wind bags are out and about along with Dumbya and the gang repeating the LIES over and over. The only problem is that more and more Americans are aware of the scam and are demanding the truth. We know they are lying, we know the truth, and it's time they pay the consequences for the needless death and destruction of a war that killed American soldiers and innocent Iraqi men, women, and children.

Some people just don't get it -- Bush and the Repuglicans don't give a rat's ass for the people in this country! The flowery speeches and the "compassionate conservatism" lingo are all window dressing to cover the real reasons these guys want to maintain power. All those tax cuts are designed to keep the poor under control and make a life of luxury more luxurious for the rich. All that money appropriated for the military is to go to defense contractors, not the enlisted personnel, so the guys at the top can continue to line their pockets with gold. When are the liberals going to wake up and realize this bunch of thugs neither knows the meaning of, nor possesses, scruples.

Gee Poppy, it's not my fault! Those garbage cans got in the way -- no one told me the company was going bust -- I thought flying planes over Texas was dangerous duty -- I had that campaign to work on -- Jeb promised he could guarantee the Florida vote -- I thought a tax cut would stimulate the economy -- I didn't know terrorists would fly planes into the WTC -- I thought the UN would believe me -- Saddam hid those weapons really good -- who woulda thunk the Iraqi's wouldn't sing and throw flowers, and on and on. The life of a spoiled brat who doesn't know the meaning of the word responsibility!

* * *

If the CIA gets blamed, Tenet (or some other schmuck) will resign and go to work for Halliburton or the Carlyle Group (forget Enron, they aren't currently hiring). Good work if you can get it -- lying, cheating, and deliberately misleading. The Repuglican modus operandi in government lives on in private practice, all paid for via astronomical defense contracts.

* * *

The grassroots Repuglican effort to "recall" Gray Davis in California is doing so because they said, "He has lied to the people, he has taken an economic surplus and turned it into a huge deficit, the unemployment rate has risen to all time highs, and he's done a generally poor job for California!" Hmmm, I wonder if they realize their boy Bush has done all this and more on a national basis? This same reasoning could be impetus to impeach the current White House resident. Perhaps the trickle down from the top notion could be the primary reason California is having difficulty -- all the way from the top, Washington and the Bush administration have done nothing for the States.
