FAQ

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

Don't hold your breath if you think a Repuglican majority will uncover the truth regarding a rush to war in Iraq. Already, even before an investigation, they are out and about declaiming any Bush administration involvement in intentionally hoodwinking the public. The lies are so blatant, it doesn't take a fly on the wall to see the truth. Big time Repuglican cover up in progress!

"Patience is a virtue," I've been told. However, if you intend to preach it, then you should certainly be willing to practice it. While the Bushies are telling us we should be patient, that it could take months to find those illusive Weapons of Mass Destruction, they weren't willing to give the UN inspectors any time at all to accomplish the same goal. We were told WMDs were an imminent threat to our well being, Saddam was ready to hit us with all he had, a mushroom cloud was coming, and, thus, we had to rush to war (to save the oil, kill the people, and risk American lives)! For the Bushies, the risks were worth the gains.

PS. the full quote is "Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can, sometimes found in woman, never found in man."

Having heard Jerry Springer on Crossfire, it makes me wish I lived in Ohio so I could vote for him. He makes more sense in 15 minutes than most members of Congress put together during their entire careers. His commentary was intelligent, current, well thought out, and certainly sane. He would be a formibable opponent, and should be the next Senator from Ohio!

If the current chaos is an example of Bush's promise of, "a foreign policy of humility and a domestic policy of compassion," then God help us if he decides to get mean and aggressive! When Bush mumbles and stumbles over words he's been given to orate, he hasn't a clue as to the definition. It's just another day to show Poppy that all this president stuff ain't so hard after all, and who did Poppy think he was kidding!

I really don't know why those Weapons of Mass Destruction have not been found, if in fact they do exist! I once knew a person who worked in the spook network eyeing the world. This source told me the equipment the government of the United States possesses could hear a "gnat fart in Afghanistan" and surveillance was ongoing by numerous agencies. It is simply ludicrous to say that tons of chemical and biological weapons have been hidden or plans to use them simply involved two trucks. What you read in those "spy" novels is fiction based on FACT, so don't think for one minute the intelligence failed! In the rush to war, something was forgotten: WMDs weren't brought in to find.

I'll bet it fries Bush's hide to know that Saddam and Osama are out there laughing their asses off at him. The little man with the little brain and the best war machine in the world can't find the two most wanted men in the world. Promises, promises, promises -- all unfulfilled.

Senators and Representatives of America: It's time you take notice, the intelligence sources here at home, and now members of the UN, are telling us the Bush administration "leaned" on them to give reports that would give credibility to the Bush push for a war in Iraq. It was a farce from the beginning, and it now stinks to the high heavens. The fix was in -- Americans died, Brits died, innocent Iraqis died, all because of Bush's war for oil.

The next time George Bush drawls in those unintelligible terms, "It's yawr money," someone needs to ask him, "If it's ours, then why the hell did you spend it on tax cuts for the rich? Why are you cutting the services necessary for our well being? Why are scores of children being left behind? Why are vets being denied health care previously promised to them? Why are you donating our money to various religious factions? Why hasn't this so called 'economic stimulus' created jobs? Why are you giving more and more money to the military who already cannot account for a trillion dollars? George are you pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people and laughing, just like you did to Poppy when you were drinking and carousing?"

If you didn't think the Bush administration and the right wing whacko's in America are mean-spirited, scandal mongers, authors of smear and slime, and reputation destroyers, then read the article regarding Hans Blix's tenure as weapons inspector. Americans have grown numb and seem to accept the right wing's vitriol because it's become a way of life. Mainstream media aids and abets this form of tabloid back-biting, perpetrated by the snide comments made by so-called news anchors. Thanks to the Repuglican party and the Bush administration, the tone has become a quagmire of dirt dishers.

I am reminded that a real picture reveals the most information, and the photos of the little Iraqi boy who lost his arms -- as a result of an unnecessary war -- has a greater impact than all the staged photo-ops arranged for Bush. In fact, a picture of Bush in a flight suit beside a picture of the little boy reveals the reality of what war can do to innocent children.

The errors made by this administration in going to war in Iraq cannot be explained away by saying Bush made "Misstatements" and he didn't mean to do it. People died, a country is in chaos, and those responsible should be held accountable. Bush's lack of intelligence is no excuse, and his rush to war outrageous -- the American people need some answers, and we don't need anymore cover-up by the hawks and ditto-heads who supported these atrocities committed in our names.

June 9, 2003

Notice how the not so subtle words like PROGRAMS and INTELLIGENCE have recently crept into all the news commentary about the Weapons of Mass Destruction? Condi Rice was intent on adding Program and emphasizing Intelligence after any mention of Weapons in Iraq. Now the mainstream media ditto-heads are repeating the same line of bull. To all those who continue to wonder how Hitler happened -- just take a look at what's happening in America today!

Pull that belt in a few more notches -- if Tom DeLay gets his way, workers in America will lose all their rights. No pay for overtime is being floated as the "Family Time Flexibility Act," which sounds so patriotically American, doesn't it? These people (and I use the word people with tongue in cheek) on the right are doing everything possible to do us in, to take away everything Americans have worked to improve in the last century. They will allow corporations to work you till you drop, then choose the time when you can take your comp time. What's DeLay planning to roll back next, the Child Labor Act? He'll probably name it the "Keep the Kids Off the Streets, Put Them to Work Act."

My HERO, Al Franken! Saw the rerun of the Book Reviews on CSPAN last evening, and I have to say, finally, a Democrat, a Liberal, who has what it takes to stand up to the right wing hacks and tell it like it is! It's amazing how the so-called purveyors of truth and justice on the right, can't take the truth or justice. Thanks again Al, let us know how we can help.
