While
I do not want to see one American military
life lost in Iraq, I cannot find pride
in the strength of this country annihilating
a rag tag army of men forced into serving
a tyrannical madman. I cannot find pride
in devastating and annihilating innocent
Iraqi citizens. When the smoke from the
bombs and the fires from the napalm clears,
we will then see just who has Weapons
of Mass Destruction. God, what have we
come to that human life is regarded with
such abandon? "Shock and Awe" has
begun, but the consequences will be felt
for years to come. I too, weep for America.

There's
more than troops gathered in Iraq!
The warmongering profiteers have already
descended on the "spoils of war," intent
on adding to their already inflated
bank accounts. These guys are so arrogant
they don't even attempt to cover their
intentions of making money on this
war.
It is indeed a sad day for Americans.
The lives of the military and
the innocent Iraqi citizens are worth
more than the money these slime balls
are determined to make. American values
have taken on an ugly gold rush definition,
thanks to these chickenhawks.

Shades
of Osama bin Laden. The mainstream
media is projecting the illusion
that Saddam is dead. For weeks of
the war in Afghanistan they constantly
put forth the notion that Osama
was dead, which they supported
with comments from influential high
placed men in the current administration.
It
appears that Osama is still alive.
Why is it so necessary for this administration
to misinform the American public?
Does
the mainstream media need the hearsay
and gossip to fill their 24 hr. programming
or
does
this
administration
need disinformation to substantiate
their
legitimacy?

To
all those who have supported
Dumbya, remember: "What goes around
comes around!"
You will bear the consequences of
his
actions. Sooner or later, when
you realize the folly of your intention,
Dumbya will no longer consider
you relevant and you will be no
more than yesterday's trash, thrown
away and discarded with today's
garbage.
I am reminded of a phrase from
the movie Hunt for Red October: "You
arrogant fool, you have killed us!"

In
attempting to justify their own motives
for supporting an unjust war -- there
are those in Congress who say Americans
must support our troops and rally behind
the president. While I support the
troops and hope for their safe return
home,
I cannot rally behind a president who,
for selfish reasons, has brought destruction
on an innocent people. I cannot justify
his lies and careless disregard for human
life by supporting him in this America's
darkest hour.

The
celebrity, conjecture, and supposition
presented by mainstream media about
the war is appalling. We are witness
to death and destruction, and the
unbridled excitement from the news anchors
is
deplorable. The reality of this production
is that
innocent people will die and the
sons and daughters
of America are being subjected to
danger and death. The true horror
comes when one realizes this could
have been avoided diplomatically, except
for the insane desires of a
small group of men. *

It's
a sad day indeed for Americans when
there is a more profound debate on
the pending
war with Iraq on OPRAH, than in the
Congress of the United States. We have
no leadership
from our so-called statesmen.
Our pretend president and the
lemmings who are bringing up his
rear know only war and destruction,
while
the rest of our representatives are
sitting on their duffs doing nothing.
It is the
most disgusting waste of energy and
money this country has ever seen. Where
have
all the heroes gone? Why is there
no debate when a moron is allowed to
change
the
ideals and morals that guided our
country
from
its inception?

Thank
you Senator Byrd, a lone voice
of truth. Our country has
set
a new course for the world, one
that I do not believe we will be proud
of in the years to come. I am
not surprised though, at how we treat
our friends and neighbors --
the
Repuglicans have been practicing
the art of sleaze
and blaming someone else for
longer than I care to remember. This
is
what happens to a society when
goals are accomplished by the
end justifying the means! What
is lost are honesty and truth, democracy
and decency.

I
wonder how many of those, who cannot wait
for the first bomb to drop and the first
American soldier to march into Iraqi fire,
realize that we who are protesting are
considering our men and women in the military?
I wonder if they can picture the solemnity
and dread of those body bags arriving back
here at home? I wonder if they will shed
tears for the young men and women of America
they have never met, or if they will shrug
it off as "this is a voluntary military
and they knew the risks as well as the
benefits"? I believe that those who
believe war is the only answer, only know
compassion as a catchy campaign phrase
uttered by someone who has never ever experienced
the emotion.

Integrity?
Honesty?---ha---this administration
is already considering contracts
for rebuilding Iraq from companies run by
friends of the powerful. God, how transparent
can
you get? How can
people believe there
is honor in war when the profiteers are
those committing war? Your taxes and
mine are going
to line the pockets of the men who have
created this disaster. It's disgusting
and worthy
of nothing more than loathing.

Why
aren't all those ditto head pundits and
24 hour cable
news
channel anchors, who profess all that patriotism,
talking about how the GOP is cutting
Veterans Administration benefits?
If they were really full of patriotism, they
would be all over this story. This
administration and the majority Repuglican
Congress are abandoning
the soldiers who fight the great wars
for them. It just goes to show you,
it's all lip service with no substance. Mainstream
media: all fluff, no stuff. *
* *
The
GOP, while spouting patriotism and
waving the flag, are busy cutting Veterans
benefits.
That's just what you'd expect from
that smarmy bunch of fat cats on the Hill.
Again we see the example of lip service
without
substance. Go and fight our wars, go
into harms way, lend us your lives, but
don't
expect us to care when you get back.
It's the Repuglican way, you know, make
a lot
of good sounding noise to your face
and
stick a knife in your back. For every
VA benefit they cut, they should cut
the same
benefits afforded to Congress.

The
French were magnanimous in their offer
of aide to the United States, if in
fact Saddam uses chemical or biological
weapons in the coming war. It was an
offer that Dumbya could never make,
because he doesn't know the meaning
of the word and he doesn't have what
it takes to be a true leader.

Excuse
me, but isn't Dumbya the man who told
us "I
say what I mean and mean what I say"?
Hmm, how is he going to spin this one? "Yes,
I will call for a vote, no matter what,
it's time for them to stand up and show
their cards." Wasn't that the same
moron standing at the podium announcing
to the world, "Saddam has 48 hours
to leave Iraq"? He has
certainly shown the world he's a man of
his word only when it's convenient.

To
all those who claim I am not a patriot
because I wish to speak out against an
unnecessary war I say to you:
First
they came for the Jews and I did not speak
out-because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists and I
did not speak out-because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionist and
I did not speak out-because I was not a
trade unionist.
Then they came for me -- and there was
no one left to speak out for me.
As
long as their is breath in me I will continue
to
speak out for that which I
believe is
wrong. I will continue to oppose those
who wish to dominate the world with war
and destruction.
I will continue to speak up for those
who cannot! *

Dumbya
is a lily livered yellow simpering
coward -- he can't even face peaceful
protestors objecting
to his policies. So much for fearless,
bold leadership. The only bravery
displayed by this poor excuse for a man
is when
he's standing behind someone else,
someone fighting his wars for him.
He is without doubt,
a despicable
human being.

Paula
Zahn and CNN, Dumbya's main cheerleading
squad doing their very best to promote a
war on Iraq. The consequences of death and
destruction caused by this war will have
to be born by those who supported the madness
as well as those who created it!

We
have seen the Bush answer to diplomacy
-- decide to have a war, then proceed to
tell
the people
you haven't decided yet, while continuing
on the road to annihilate Iraq. This
decision was made long before Bush ran for
the presidency
and he intends to use our sons and daughters
to attain his goal.
*

I
cannot fathom waving flags and cheering
on a war that will cause the deaths of our
young
men and women and innocent Iraqi people!
Neither death nor destruction should be
celebrated; unnecessary war does not bring
pride or patriotism to a nation. When fear
becomes so overwhelming and a nation is
willing to kill innocent people for a false
security , something is definitely wrong.
To laud the actions of a bully is deplorable. |
