ABOUT

A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

March 7, 2003

Movie star black lists, arrests for wearing T-shirts advocating peace, free speech labeled as anti-American, the voice of the people insignificant, spies, lies, and cover-ups? Our government was taken over in a blood-less coup, our rights have been compromised, and now we are expected to willingly send our sons and daughters to war. This is America under the Bush regime. It's time for a regime change. It's time for Americans to show they value the Constitution. It's time for Congress to do their patriotic duty for the American people. It's time to impeach the Thief of Crawford.

Dumbya's record in Texas is a guide for the future of our nation, but the body politic chose to ignore it during the elections. Texas has a grim future -- Dumbya took a substantial surplus and turned it into a $15 billion deficit. America is facing the same grim future, for many generations, of hundreds of billions in deficits. This should be a history lesson learned. Now Bush tells us he will build democracies in the Middle-East? If Afghanistan is a model of his prowess for establishing democracy, then Iraq will become an abysmal failure. History foretells the future.

Reporters covering the Bush Press Conference tell us he was "grilled" with tough questions, yet Bush tells us it was scripted. Who are we to believe? Bush has scripted press conferences to appear credible. If this were a sit-com it would have been canceled long ago -- the lead actor just doesn't have what it takes to be believable.

Commander-in-Chief sounds positively American, doesn't it? Now try Alabama AWOLER. A man who could not even serve his country in Alabama during a time of war is now saying "trust me" to send your sons and daughters into battle. All those stories about how difficult this decision is for him is blow hard spin. Bush won't have any trouble sending the sons and daughters of America to fight his battle, because he will be hiding away in a fortified bunker in an undisclosed location, probably somewhere safer than Alabama.

Under the leadership of Dumbya, a war with Iraq has become a multiple choice hit or miss. Whatever sounds best at the moment has been the Dumbya reason for waging war --disarmament, regime change, liberating the Iraqi people, because he tried to kill my dad, unproven terrorist associations, Saddam is a bad man, etc. etc. etc. Anything but the real reason to justify an aggressive action taken by a lesser man. He wants their oil and he will do anything to get it.

Well, George is finding out that sovereign nations are not Poppy. He cannot stamp his foot and get what he wants, like he does with Poppy, from countries who aren't playing his game. Seems they aren't as afraid of Georgie as Poppy must be. In an adult world, the opinions of those who think for themselves are as profound as Bush's fantasies are ridiculous. No one likes a bully, no matter how inflated his self-opinion.

* * *

Another faux pas by Dumbya -- he's planning to "discipline" Mexico. How many friends are we to lose in Dumbya's march on Iraq. His methods -- forcing others to do his bidding -- are reflective of his childish mentality. Unlike our mainstream media and a few U.S. hawks, many countries will not bow and scrape to insane threats. Our country is in jeopardy thanks to the tantrums of an inexperienced, unintelligent, spoiled brat.

When one opposes the principals set forth in the Bible, then one cannot use the Bible to justify one's actions. Dumbya arrogantly struts around professing a faith that is not reflected in his actions. If indeed we are all created equally in the eyes of God, how can one expect God to bless a war that will kill innocent people? Dumbya has attempted to supplant his opinion for God's. Last I heard, spinning the bible is blasphemy and intolerable.

Our government is in business alright -- MONKEY BUSINESS for George W. Bush. Texas, being a reflection of Bush Business, is showing a deficit of 15 billion dollars. Now Bush is working on bankrupting us all. He's using our tax dollars to fund the defense industry, not the grunts in the military doing the work of dying for him. Bush even cut the raise he budgeted for the GI's. That means Poppy and friends are making the big bucks on the backs of the American taxpayers and the enlisted military personnel. Hasn't anyone ever wondered why there's always war when the Repuglicans are in office? It's for the money they can make. All this pious holier than thou drivel is just that, DRIVEL -- the man has no regard for anyone but himself. The sooner America wakes up to this fact, the sooner we will return to being the great country we were before this lunatic took office.

* * *

Can't help but wonder, every time I hear "a conservative think tank," my God, they couldn't have been thinking when they "thunk up that clunk Dumbya"! If he's the best they can do, then someone is surely wasting a lot of money -- the whole world is in chaos, thanks to Dumbya's bungling. Nary a soul is secure anywhere on earth. Someone needs to tell these think tank individuals that lack of intelligence and inexperience are not qualifications for the presidency.

March 4, 2003

The GOP majority better wise up -- caving into Bush and wrecking the Constitution will most certainly mean risking your own necks come election time. You may be able to fool some of us some of the time, but not all of us all the time. When this sleeping giant wakens it will not bode well for Bush or the Repuglican party. When the American people realize they've been had by the very people who were supposed to be looking out for our best interests, this Greedy Old Party will be ousted.

* * *

Birds of a feather must certainly flock together -- ever since Dumbya was appointed as the supreme ruler of this democracy, the GOP and all the conservative whackos have been falling into lockstep behind him. Apparently the money that was spent on their education was for naught. I have never seen a group of people want to appear so stupid as they do, and all to make their current boy wonder look normal. Little do they realize the very reason for discord the world over is the lack of intelligence and the arrogance displayed by the worst president ever to perch in the Oval Office. And the GOP is looks and sounds just like him.

* * *

The answer to the big question -- "Why don't they like us?" -- is GEORGE W. BUSH! His lack of intelligence is overwhelmingly replaced with aggressive arrogance, and that is the reason for the loathing. He has a history of disrespecting his Poppy, friends of Poppy, authority in any form, reporters in restaurants, the National Guard, stockholders in his busted companies, and anyone who happens to get in his way. Why would you think he has changed his ways simply because he was appointed president? His actions reflect what he thinks of himself and it ain't a pretty thought.

March 3, 2003

Since they know that Dumbya cannot ever be elected to office, and a majority of Americans will not sit still for the Supreme Court to appoint him once again, they have begun the necessary "fix" to install him via Touch Screen Voting in 2004. This "no paper trail" technology is an absolute necessity for the GOP and Dumbya to reign over America and continue plundering the average taxpayer for personal gain. If one truly values the freedoms we have left, it is time to demand the election of the president in this country be up to the voters and not to those who desire to be dictators.

* * *

This administration really must think us all fools. To attempt to convince the world that the cowboy mentality of a bully makes him popular is the most ridiculous farce they've projected so far. Maybe the all Repuglican focus groups they've assembled have convinced them their lies are believeable. Whatever they think, they have not been able to rally the people of the world -- they do not have a majority of support for their war.

* * *

Due to his inexperience, inability, lack of intelligence, and downright blundering, Dumbya has managed to accomplish what Osama bin Laden in his wildest dreams could not do! We have lost many domestic freedoms, many of which defined our way of life, and have lost our international stature and respect, which took much better men to attain. Dumbya is incapable of leadership -- he doesn't have what it takes to be president. All he knows is coercion, bribery, and bullying to get what he wants. While it may be what he thinks is best for him, it is not in the best interests of this country.

* * *

Why did Bush give his speech -- outlining his plan for the aftermath of a war -- to the American Enterprise Institute, a right-wing conservative think tank, instead of to the people of the United States? Did they want to shield him from the opinion of the majority of the world, who believe that this war is a war of choice and deviates from defensive to offensive? Did they think the applause was enough to provide the impetus for him to march on another nation and kill innocent people?
