If The Media Were Liberal . . .
A
BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY

Dear
BuzzFlash:
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing a lot more about 204 Americans
being killed by mistakes in hospitals every single day -- one every 7
minutes, 75,000 a year.
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing a lot more about how Intelligence
all over the world says bin Laden and al Qaeda are in good shape and the
level of "chatter" now is like that of August 2001.
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing questions like these:
-
Are we soon, within days or weeks, to have a major al-Qaeda attack? Did
we beat them in Afghanistan, or did they just execute a strategic withdrawal?
-
Why are our nuclear plants, etc., etc., etc., barely more secure than
they were over a year ago?
-
Why did Bush lie on every point in his reasons for going to war with Iraq?
-
Are we to believe that the rest of the world hasn't noticed that Bush's
National Security policy is a plan for world domination by force of arms?
Why wouldn't they unite against us?
And
if the media were liberal we'd know what the rest of the world is thinking.
If
the media were liberal you'd know who funds the various "experts"
we see on TV, pushing corporate and anti-American people agendas.
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing a lot more about how we have one
person claiming to be independent of both the Legislature and the Judiciary,
with absolute say over the fate of every person on earth. You'd be hearing
the question: do you call such a person President or Emperor?
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing a lot more about how sound nutrition
can prevent and cure disease, and a lot more about why we're pumping tons
of sugar into our kids -- getting them obese, diseased, and hyper-active.
And how we give children drugs for their (diet-induced) "Attention
Deficit Disorder" while telling them not to take drugs. You'd be
hearing a lot more about how pharmaceutical companies are running a massive
scam on the public.
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing a lot more about how all the regulations
are enforced by people embedded in the very communities they are meant
to police.
If
the media were liberal you'd be hearing adult conversations about issues
of the day. Instead we get talking heads, paid propagandists for this
or that extreme view, full of groundless speculations, unchecked lies,
shouting, and spin. Such is our "placebo free press."
If
the media were liberal you'd know it. You'd be better informed, and our
nation, our people, our world, would be better off in every way.
