War on Terror Scorecard

by Mark Salditch

Dear BuzzFlash,

Time for a brief assessment of our President's War on Terror:

Americans killed by friendly fire: 3

Canadians killed by American Smart Bombs: 14

Afghani Civilians Killed by American Smart Bombs: ??? (Numbers can not be released for security reasons)

Afghan Wedding Parties Blown Up by American Smart Bombs: 1 (or more) [Body count possibly 40]

Al Qaeda or Taliban Leaders Killed or Captured: 1 (maybe 2, but the Bush Administration won't show us the body)

US Citizens Held Indefinitely in American Jails Without Being Charged and Denied Their Right to a Lawyer: 3

Nail Files Sized at US Airports: Billions

Number of Firearms Kept Out of the Hands of Potential Terrorists by Ending Gun Show Background Check Loophole: 0

Number of Terrorists captured by Ashcroft's Justice Department: 1 (Although the so called "Dirty Bomber" was really only maybe thinking about committing a terrorist act, so he's really only guilty of thought crime)

Number of Prostitutes Ashcroft's Justice Dept Has Caught in New Orleans after 12 month investigation: 13 (As Claude Rains might say in Casablanca, "Prostitutes in New Orleans?! I'm shocked! Shocked!")

Percentage of Americans who think that Bush is doing a good job on the War Against Terror: 70%

So I guess we're winning...

Mark
