What
I Know Now

Don't
get me wrong. I want to know what Bush knew and when he knew it, and the
sooner the Democrats get rolling, the better. But this letter is about
what I know now.
I
know now the media propaganda machine will spin its wheels off and
cast aside its integrity for the almighty dollar. Look at the spin today
- "It was Clinton's fault" or how about "What did the Democrats
Know?"
What
a sham! Wasn't it the REPUBLICANS who held both houses of Congress from
1996 until Jeffords saved America? What the blue blazes were they doing?
Let
me refresh your memory. They were impeaching Clinton, spending our tax
dollars worrying and wondering where Big Dog's big dog had been. Oh yes,
and what about the endless hours of prattle about Gary Condit's little
dog and where it had been? I believe there is an appropriate psychological
term for this, but it escapes me right now.
I
know now that all of the fears I had on that dark fateful December
20th are no longer fears. They are reality. I remember turning to my
husband when the reporter read the ruling from the SCOTUS, and with
dread in my heart, I said, "We will be at war within a year."
We
were. I told him then that the power blackouts in California were related
to Bush and his "pioneer" group, and if just one reporter would
dig a little, he/she would find a bloody trail of greed and avarice leading
right back to Bush and his henchmen.
Right
again. I remember I said something like, we will probably be rioting in
the streets one of these days when the dam breaks. It hasn't happened
on a wholesale basis yet, but if the truth about this administration ever
sees the light of day, we will all take to the streets. Our outrage will
be uncontrollable.
I
want the day to come when, as Al Gore said, I can "let the glory
out."
I
know now the primary reason we are in Afghanistan is the result of the
desire for a secure oil pipeline at any cost and that Bush and his crew
have put our children, brothers, sisters, husbands, mothers, and fathers
in harm's way under false pretense. I know now that he and those like
him will wrap themselves in the American flag while stooping to any
level to achieve their goals -- power and money for their rich friends
and partners in crime.
I
remember the day I found BuzzFlash. At the time it was a new web page
with few readers. I was impressed the Buzz was using mainstream media
stories to show the truth about the Grand Hypocrisy Party. I liked the
idea. In fact, I thought it was a stroke of genius. The Buzz was like
an oasis in the desert. I committed myself right then to help the Buzz
and began scouring the web for articles that would help tell the story.
Every site I found that was progressive or liberal or democratic, I asked
them to link to the Buzz.
You
can do the same. Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about BuzzFlash.
Share the stories with people you know who have become politically atrophied
and cynical. More
importantly, particularly for those who have limited time, think about
becoming a regular monthly or quarterly contributor to the Buzz. It's
the least we can do, but it is something we can do.
Finally,
GET OUT AND VOTE - in your local and state elections. Find your local
Democratic Party office and offer to help. We need to start now! The Democratic
Party will take back the Senate and House this fall, along with some important
governorships, if we stay engaged and ready to fight for the America we
all love.
I
know now that a group of committed people, acting together, can change
things. BuzzFlash proves it. One last thing and above all else, for America's
sake, don't lose your faith.
