Bob's Fridge Predicts the Future?

February 21, 2002

Dear Buzz-

Though I am merely a lowly satirist, well actually, Cybersatirist, I now fear that I may be actually dictating the news events of President Bush or have so developed my psychic abilities (courtesy Ms. Cleo, since what I do is for entertainment purposes only) that I have premonitions regarding his activities.

On Tuesday, I decided to lampoon the "evil of axis" theme that has become the mantra of the president and vice-president with what I considered a satirical slant involving the "evil of axes." Setting the news "report" in South Korea, where the president was visiting that day, I wrote how he warned of the pending dangers of terrorist groups with axes to grind who intended to use them for evil by lurking Lizze bin Bordens.

On Wednesday morning, I read in the newspaper that while Bush was visiting the DMZ in Korea, he was shown actual axes that were used by North Koreans to fatally attack US soldiers in 1976. Bush tells reporters that these axes show they are "evil."

Now my head hurts. With this kind of power or psychic ability I could become far more subversive than I ever envisioned possible with posting satire online.

I remain and intend to remain,

Bob Hirschfeld
Cybersatirist
