How can we know the Bush administration is not using this secret, warrantless surveillance activity as an opportunity to spy on political opponents to gain political advantage?

How can we know the Bush administration is not using this secret, warrantless surveillance activity as an opportunity to spy on corporate rivals of their corporate campaign contributors to provide economic advantage to their "friends"?

The fact is we cannot know. There is no non-partisan oversight of their secret, warrantless surveillance. They tell us to just trust them.

As President Reagan once said, "Trust, but verify." The Bushites need to show us proof they are not spying on their political opponents or corporate rivals of their pals.
