Live in NY? Here's One Simple Thing You Can Do To Protect Your Vote
A BUZZFLASH READER CONTRIBUTION
by Robert Millman
If you live in New York State and think electronic voting
machines stole the last election for George Bush there is ONE SIMPLE
THING you
can do about it.
Go to http://home.nycap.rr.com/edelstein80/hava_letter.pdf and print
the form letter you will find there. It is a written appeal to the
New York State HAVA Committee to endorse paper ballots and optical
scan readers for New York State.
This is a pre-addressed, self contained letter you can personalize.
All you have to do is print it, fill it out, fold it, attach postage
and drop it in the mailbox.
Take two minutes to tell New York State Legislators that paper ballot
and optical scan is the best choice for New York.
Please, If you want to do something about electronic voting and don't
have a lot of timetake two minutes of your time and do this ONE
SIMPLE THING, because If you dont, your legislators will only
hear what industry lobbyists are telling them.
If we can defeat the electronic voting machine lobby in New York, then
they can be beaten in every other state as well. The facts are on our
side-- a paper ballot and optical scan voting system creates the most
accurate and verifiable record of your vote. It complies with the Help
America Vote Act (HAVA). And is less expensive than any other system
being considered by the legislature.
If you want more information about why this is important, go to http://home.nycap.rr.com/edelstein80/ny_vote.htm
And if you think this is a good idea, please share it with others
Sincerely,
Robert Millman
