Linking America's Oil Addiction to 1,400 Dead American Troops in Iraq -- A New BuzzFlash Radio Ad

A BUZZFLASH READER CONTRIBUTION
by Robert Millman

Consider the possibilities--

The attached issue ad uses Bush's Inaugural Address as a start point to link America's oil addiction with 1,400 dead American troops in Iraq.

I seriously doubt that any right wing stations would air this. But consider the possibilities if dozens of regular people around the country put up money to run this ad, just once, on dozens of right wing radio stations.

Consider the possible news story when those right wing radio stations refuse to air an ad that is simple, true and dares to use Bush's own words to challenge his rationale for war??

It will make right wing heads spin. Because the facts are true and it is patriotic to declare we can be energy independent if we really want to.

It could get some real news coverage.

A BuzzFlash Radio Moment

(Whoosh sound effect).

President Bush declared his intention to ...

(voice of George W. Bush ) "Break the reign of hatred and resentment and expose the pretensions of tyrants."

It's a noble sentiment and we should expose pretensions, especially our own, because American soldiers are dying in Iraq every day.

The facts on the ground tell us sanctions and containment worked. There were no WMD's, no nuclear capability and no ties to 9/11.

But Saddam did pose a real threat to his oil-rich neighbors, and by proxy he threatened oil dependent countries like ours.

Maybe it's time to remember-- We are the country that pioneered steam, oil and nuclear energy. Maybe it's time we invented a new energy source.

Because oil is killing us.
