The Republican Assault on Democracy

To those who doubt the Republicans would be willing to commit voter fraud to further establish and solidify their grip on power I say this...

Look at what Hastert has done in the House just this week. I doubt the Founding Fathers would approve of his locking out democrats from the legislative process the way he has.

No input into writing of legislation. No bills sent to the floor unless a MAJORITY of republicans will vote for it. Those who voted for democrats are essentially no longer represented in the House.

The founding fathers built in checks and balances to protect us from the majority steamrolling the minority -- checks such as the filibuster rules in the Senate which the Republican party has signaled its intention to wave its magic wand of arrogance and get rid of. Soon those who voted for democrats in the Senate will essentially no longer have a long-held check against the majority imposing its will. See a trend here?

Less and less representation. Just look at the actions that are right in front of your face. The only seats picked up by Republicans in the House this election were those picked up through Tom DeLay's unprecedented redistricting in Texas. Districts were made from areas hundreds of miles apart, connected only through thin corridors of land. Are these not the actions of those bent on ONE party rule?

In refusing to let come to a vote a bill with bipartisan support that provided a paper trail to the electronic voting machines used in this last election, the republican leadership signaled its intentions and abilities to cheat!

In the 2000 election we now know that GORE received the most votes in Florida and, as such, won. The republicans did all they could to stop the votes from being counted, and they needed all the efforts of GW's brother to do it.They were caught using illegal lists to stop people from voting who were entitled to vote. Again the actions of Cheats!

Did the Founding Fathers foresee the all-out Republican attack on its system of checks and balances? The monopoly of ownership of the media? The control of corporations of the legislative agenda and the tax laws? The stacking of the courts? Easily corrupted elections with electronic machines with no paper trails?

WAKE UP!

Your country no longer exists as the democracy you knew it as. If you are a democrat you are no longer represented in Congress and Kerry was illegally deprived of the presidency through voter fraud and suppression.

The tactics of tyrants and bullies run rampant. How anyone could doubt the republicans' ability and will to steal this election is beyond me!
