The World According to Wolfowitz, Part 3

A BUZZFLASH READER CONTRIBUTION

Read Part 1 & Part 2

Some Democrats urge restraint in calling for Rumsfailed's resignation, because most likely his replacement would be Wolfowitz, the mastermind of Iraq's invasion. Wolfie's deceptions, delusional misperceptions of reality and plain stupidity are in full view:

A brief historical review of the "Wolfowitz's cabal," their doctrine and its role in the current mess:

For the philosophical underpinnings of Wolfie's fascist view of the world see Jim Lobe's 2003 article, titled "The Strong Must Rule the Weak: A Philosopher for An Empire":

Suddenly, political Washington is abuzz about Leo Strauss, who arrived in the United States in 1938 and taught at several major universities before his death in 1973. (...) the cognoscenti have suddenly been made aware that key neoconservative strategists behind the Bush administration's aggressive foreign and military policy consider themselves to be followers of Strauss, although the philosopher--an expert on Plato and Aristotle--rarely addressed current events in his writings.

The most prominent is Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, now widely known as "Wolfowitz of Arabia" for his obsession with ousting Iraq's Saddam Hussein as the first step in transforming the entire Arab Middle East. Wolfowitz is also seen as the chief architect of Washington's post-9/11 global strategy, including its controversial pre-emption policy.

And now, on a lighter(?) note, see the below from R. Ebert's review of Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11." Ebert praises Moore for avoiding cheap shots in his movie, but admits that an occasional bizarrely appalling scene can still be found there:

Wait until you see Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz preparing for a TV interview. First he puts a pocket comb in his mouth to wet it and combs down his hair. Still not satisfied, he spits on his hand and wipes the hair into place. Catching politicians being made up for TV is an old game, but this is a first.
