Is Bush Guilty of Criminal Negligence?

A BUZZFLASH READER CONTRIBUTION

Dear Buzz:

Here’s a scenario…

I own an apartment building. Let’s just say, two months prior to a [fire] I am warned by a civil housing inspector that there is an impending danger of an electrical shortage that "could" cause a disaster. It is not specifically known when or how, but I need to take precautions and take protective steps in order to avoid catastrophe... Basically, I need to fix the problem. Instead, I do nothing immediately to correct the situation because I am planning a "big" overhaul project down the line that will fix everything.

A month later, I am on my way "out the door" on my vacation, I flip a light switch to witness a flare-up sputtering... but it subsides. A second minor sputtering occurs when I flip another switch. But, it too, does not amount to anything. I leave. While I am away, a massive fire erupts from an electrical problem, killing many of my tenants. I am responsible and will most certainly be tried (once an investigation is complete -- showing that I was warned) and convicted of criminal negligence/murder.

...and there are many, many other scenarios as above within each of our lives that our society beholds as "personal responsibility" -- or lack thereof – to be what protects us from wrongful disasters.

And Bush’s White House? Even if their lies were truths about the facts being too vague for them to have done anything to prevent 9/11… ("Again,") How come Bush’s response to the first plane crashing into WTT #One was: "gee, that poor guy..." he said he thought some personal pilot had majorly screwed up. AND: How come Ashcroft had quit taking commercial domestic flights at the onset of the summer’s warnings; AND: How come multiple Pentagon officials had been warned the day prior to 9/11 to cancel their 9/11 flight reservations (Newsweek 9/24/01); AND: How come then-mayor of S.F., Willie Brown was on the television air for days after the tragedy, explaining how he had canceled his [then] booked 9/11 flight from S.F. to N.Y.C. because his "security buddy" at SFO had called him the day before 9/11 to inform him that highjackers/highjackings were an immediate danger on 9/11?

I’m having a hard time understanding how this is remaining so difficult to get to the truth and hold the Bush Administration (all of them) responsible for their part in allowing the attacks to happen; and once the attacks were under way, that they did nothing for hours to prevent the second Trade Tower crash nor the Pentagon attack… and the flight the ultimately crashed could have been (also) stopped from even taking off! Absolutely no planes were scrambled…

Bush now admits to reading the PDB on 8/6, so his idiotic response that he first thought some sorry private pilot had caused the first crash – that he didn’t know it was an attack – is so boldly a lie (HE SAT THERE AND LET IT HAPPEN!!!!), or he really is the Village Idiot. A five year old could have put together within five minutes what was taking place!

BuzzFlash Note: Like Bush, BuzzFlash is pretty certain that we could have stopped the attacks on 9/11 if we had known the exact people involved, the flight numbers and departure times of their planes, and how they were going to accomplish their mission. In fact, we think anyone with half a brain could have stopped it with that kind of information. Unfortunately, terrorists don't provide that kind of information. That's why being the President requires someone qualified to see the forest for the trees, which would be someone UNlike Bush.
