Happy Quagmire Day
BUZZFLASH READER CONTRIBUTION
Check it out. In the wee morning hours just after our troops were ordered into Bush's Iraqi quagmire, Bush's Rubberstamping Congress shamefully voted to cut veteran's benefits.
Congressional record shows that those cuts were derailed, failing by
only 3 votes.
Now, just this week, George Bush approved of an out-and-out lie in his recent attack on Senator Kerry's voting record. They basically took a snippet of Kerry's voting record on that particular Bill, and have twisted it into a malicious lie. [BuzzFlash.com]
In fact, in the "Nay" vote to which that ad refers, Senators Kerry, Byrd and a bold handful of others tried valiantly to hold out for some Congressional oversight as to how that $87 Billion was to be spent, so that our soldiers might actually get the equipment they needed. But this time, Bush's Rubberstamping Republican Congress overrode that effort.
As a result, it appears that certain privateering "Defense" companies heavily contributing to GOP coffers across the country are getting the benefit of that entire $87 Billion while our troops still lack proper equipment while they are in harm's way. [Boston.com]
lie their way right back into office if we're not vigilant.
