An Open Letter to General Clark A
BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY General Clark: I was sorry to see that your efforts to obtain the democratic nomination for president ended. I thought you ran a good campaign. What I would wish to see when the campaigning is done and we have our candidate is to have all you gentlemen and the lady to sit down in a summit meeting and discuss just what you have to do; what you must do to beat Bush. Hell, you might even try to invite that egotistical and naive Ralph Nader. We must offer good constructive solutions to the problems that are facing our country, and I don't think any one man has all the answers. It is time for the putting away of pride, ego and vanity, and think about this country. Our Constitution is being raped by the Bush administration. There should be a national health and medical program for all Americans. Our public school system is in dire need of reconstruction, and the teachers need more pay, and to be compensated for refresher training so they can do the best job possible. Social Security should be protected so that at no time in the future will it be ravaged to pay for some other obscene expense. Our environment and the problems of global warming are critical, and I think all of you know this, and it should be addressed vigorously. Gerrymandering is being practiced in states like Texas and Georgia and others and this should be made a federal offense. We should be concentrating on other energy sources, now, not ten years from now. Our time is running out on this issue. There are so many things that you guys could sit down and put your heads together and come up with answers to, if you will put aside your egos and pride and vanity. Americans with good intentions and love for their country and its people must unite and make this, truly the greatest country in the world. Liberals have been made the heavy in American politics for years now and it is time that we put a stop to this practice. A Liberal is a person who is not restricted in his vision for human progress and freedom. A liberal believes in the abundance of prosperity for all human kind, not just a few. A liberal believes in democracy, and the freedom of each individual to advance according to his ability. A liberal believes that every individual is free to practice his religion according to his belief, or to not practice a religion at all if that is his choice, without any interference of government. We all should be proud of our liberalism; because it is a sign of our vision and hope for mankind. Think about this General. And if you can put your ego and vanity aside to confer with the others, and if they can put their egos and vanity aside long enough to listen, maybe we, all of us working together, can make America the great democracy that it truly is meant to be. GOD BLESS AMERICA. We need it more now than ever before. Sincerely, Wynn Spell A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY | |||||
