A
BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY
Does the Press ever get anything right? I watched that segment on CBS and the thing that caught my attention, was that you couldn't see the President's breath. If Bush was really outside, his warm breath would have been visible in the freezing cold. Once again the Bush PR team has duped the press and the people. It seems as though this was a bluescreen shot, done from the warm comfortable confines of the White House, made to look as though he was in the rose garden. This is yet another example of the phony image conscious PR that is a staple of this President's portrayal by a compliant press. Why has the history of the Crawford "ranch" never been fully investigated? It was built just in time for the 2000 campaign, by a "texan" born in Conn., who, by the way, is apparently afraid of horses. Talk about a genuine cowboy. What ever happened to the inquisitive, honest press? Or -- is that only reserved for important issues like botox and BJ's? And wasn't the President's appearance a form of political advocacy? How were his statements on Iraq any less controversial than the MoveOn ad? Surely the press realizes that the war is a controversial subject? His appearance ruined the rest of the Suberbowl for me, and not even Janet's breast could save the day. Thank you, Stevie
