Bush Tells Canadian Prime Minister's Scott that He has a Prettier Face Than Bush's Scott: We Are Not Making This Up!

A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY

The President chuckled. "Well, you got a pretty face," he told the surprised Mr. Reid. He wasn't done. "You got a pretty face," he said again. "You're a good-looking guy. Better looking than my Scott anyway."

Well at least he didn't say the guy was better looking than Laura.

I needed a laugh. I've been sick all week. What better run up to the State of the Union than the President of the United States coming-on to the senior strategist to Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada. The only problem for Dubya is the strategist's name is Scott. With the Family Research Council, Focus on the Family and every other right wing group trying to get Dubya to take a more derisive, divisive, or even more decisive stand on gay unions, this should make a hit. Comedians will have a field day. I can't wait to see Saturday Night Live and I wish I had cable so I could see the Daily Show.

The setting for his remark was tropical; you know how that tropical heat is. It was Monterrey, Mexico during the Summit where Bush was trying to explain why Canada has free borders with the US, and not Mexico. He had finished breakfast with Martin and their closest aids, when Martin called, his assistant, Scott Reid in for a briefing, as the group waited for the press. Apparently Bush was de-briefing Mr. Reid with his eyes. Were they boxers or briefs, Dubya?

Some enchanted morning,
You may see a strategist,
A very pretty strategist,
Across a hotel room.
Somehow you know,
You know even then,
Someday, you'll see him again.
You glide to his side.

"Well, what do you do for this guy?", Dubya said. You would think he could come up with the name of the PM, but stunned by the moment, he could only point, but he did point at the correct guy. After a small discussion about Scott's duties for the PM, Dubya said, "Well, you got a pretty face. You got a pretty face. You're a good-looking guy. Better looking than my Scott [McClellan, Bush's Press Secretary and Karl Rove's mouthpiece] anyway."

I can't wait to hear Bush's Scott [McClellan) spin this one. Maybe he could do a few lines of "I Feel Pretty".

We all know Bush doesn't hire people just because they are pretty, look at the cabinet. I know I have no idea what his standards for attractive men are or if he has any. I'll give Bush's Scott one compliment, he is decidedly more attractive than Ari. There are Scott Terriers more intelligent and more attractive than Ari. We need to find Bush a more attractive Scott. Canada can't have the most attractive Scott in this hemisphere.

We have to do something or the PM might get snooty about it:

My Scott's cuter than your Scott,
My Scott's cuter than yours.
My Scott's cuter cause he's Canadian,
My Scott's cuter than yours.

If Dubya gets any more ditsy, I may not be able to stand it. I suppose there might be some Log Cabin Republicans who will find this titillating, but I have found few Stonewall Democrats who find any aspect of Dubya even slightly attractive.

We knew he was harmful to world peace and short on the uptake, but little did we know that he was this bizarre.

But George, if you were indeed trolling for some male companionship, we'll embrace you. Democrats are very libertarian about such inclinations. But try not to do it as part of your official duties. Remember what happened to Brother Bill.

Karen Webb, Moore, Ok.
