gop \jop\ v gopped, gopping [from GOP, American Republican Party slogan] To defraud, cheat, or deceive the public by means of false publicity, false piety, or lying, particularly with the collusion of the news media and especially when done for the benefit of corporations. <When it passed everyone thought that Medicare reform was wonderful but after they learned what it would really do the elderly realized they’d been ~ed yet again.>

gop-off \jop-of’\ n An act of theft through means of false publicity, false piety of lying with the collusion of the news media. <The energy bill was just another conservative ~ that gave billions to the oil companies and utilities.>
