The
Fool On The Hill
BUZZFLASH
READER COMMENTARY
by W. O. Coach
With apologies to The Beatles, the fool on the hill has been at it
again this week. But George W. Bush is no ordinary fool, he's a dangerous
fool. His deceptive lies for preemptive war and subsequent bumbled
occupation of Iraq are getting our young men and women killed on
a daily basis for no good reason other than his ideological whim
that he can persuade Iraqis to accept a western style democracy.
This is simply not going to happen. This is not going to happen anytime
sooner than Iraq occupying us and converting us to their lifestyle.
In truth, Iraq never threatened us and never posed a threat. Iraq
as a threatening state was contained by UN sanctions and "actual" coalition
forces. We attacked them and have completely disrupted their normal
way of life from essential services to the humiliation of being an
occupied nation. This is not the first time an invading nation has
failed to occupy Iraq (Mesopotamia), and we're as likely to be unsuccessful
as any other invading force over the past one thousand years.
Ask yourself how you would feel under these circumstances? Remember
our own War Of Independence?
But that's just another familiar story as the UN Headquarters were
bombed in Baghdad and Jerusalem suffered another suicide bombing.
The Fool On The Hill was was on another month long vacation at his
house, not ranch, in Crawford, Texas. It took him hours to respond
to the power outage last Thursday afternoon, and what a response
the fool on the hill made; "I've always been for upgrading the
electrical grids."
Deregulation, something Bush is in favor of for his energy benefactors,
contributed hugely to the problem and the fool on the hill insisted
on tying the unpopular Anwar Alaska drilling to the bill that's been
before Congress since Clinton tried to get the private energy companies
to upgrade. Of course the Fool On The Hill reversed all of these
sensible policies to favor his campaign donors and rich friends.
He also reversed clean air, clean water, and common sense for that
matter.
George W. Bush truly is the Fool On The Hill.
He's made America a more dangerous place to live with his ill-conceived
foreign policies.
He's gutted the economy with his tax cuts for his rich friends.
He's made a joke of open and honest government.
Far from changing the "tone" in Washington, he's polarized
it beyond recognition.
Honor and dignity in the White House, puh-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze.
From right wing nut crazy judges to John Ashcroft, he's making religion
a bad name.
The United States is responsible for 25% of the world's pollution.
Bush is trying his best to better this number.
Our children and grandchildren will be paying for these atrocities
for decades, or until another Clinton comes along.
Bush is The Fool On The Hill.
Anyone who voted for this moron is clearly either so rich and greedy
with no concerns for future generations, or so stupid they shouldn't
be allowed to make a decision on their own.
With plenty of time to think about it, there is just no other way
to phrase that statement.
It's unlikely this rant will reach any ears other than the choir,
but wouldn't it be nice if Limbaugh ditto-monkeys had to deal with
reality, just for once.
