Bush
Scares Children
A
BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY Buzz:
Last night I saw on a Canadian News Broadcast a very instructive interview
with a Canadian family in their home.
A small
boy asked his dad "Daddy, is Mr. Bush going to invade Canada?" To
comfort his son, the father said, no, the American people would not allow
that to happen.
Later
in the broadcast, the boy showed a crayon drawing, much like many children
draw and put on their bedroom doors warning others to stay out
of their rooms. Only this drawing said "Mr. Bush, Stay Out".
At the end of the interview, the boy was playing with army toys, and I
believe had some kind of action figure in his hand that he hit repeatedly
against the table and said something like, Mr. Bush, take that.
Multiply this millions of times over all over the world and I think we
have the answer to why they hate us.
One other
recent instructive incident was an interview with an angry Egyptian man
who said "What do you want America, do you want ALL the land,
do you want to eat ALL the food, do you want to drink ALL the drink?"
After 9/11 like many Americans, I tried to learn why this happened and
what I thought we needed to do to prevent another 9/11. My conclusion was
that we had to deal more equitably with the world. Unfortunately, this
administration and it’s advisors think they can rule by force. Any emotionally
mature person knows you may be able to do that for a time, but that it
eventually will backfire on you. Unfortunately, it is against the American
people that it will backfire on. It is our soldiers who die, our tax money
that is spent, our reputation and sense of morality that is damaged and
our lives that are put at risk here.
I judge people by their actions, not by their words. I don’t believe our
compassionate president has any interest in protecting the American people.
