Osama Couldn't Be Happier

Consider this: Iraqi crude will cost about $2 per barrel to pump out of the ground. And each barrel of crude will sell anywhere from $30 to $34 on the open market. That's approximately an 800% profit.
Question: where do you think that money goes? Veterans' benefits? Social Security? Education? Ha! More likely to Swiss bank accounts for fat-cat Republicans.
And then there is this:
George Bush Sr.'s employer -- the Carlyle Group - makes billions of dollars off the taxpayer for building and dropping bombs. Meanwhile, Dick Cheney's former employer -- Halliburton -- makes billions of dollars off the taxpayer for fixing oil wells and cleaning up the mess.
Not bad work if you can get it, eh?
The truth is, this war is being fought for the same reason all wars are fought: Wealth. And it's being fought FOR the wealthy by poor and middle-class kids. You won't see any terrified rich kids on CNN with bruised and battered faces.
Operation "Iraqi Freedom" my ass! That phrase is a Madison Avenue sales pitch brought to you by munitions-maker GE and its NBC spokesmen. (Yes, they own the network.) Much the same can be said for "Shock and Awe." It sounds like something you could put on your Play Station, doesn't it? And for most armchair patriots, it is.
Does anyone seriously think the current Administration gives a rat's ass about freedom for hungry, dark-skinned Muslims?!
As for weapons of mass destruction, maybe Saddam has them, maybe not. One sure way to find out is to invade and occupy his country. But remember, the only use of WMD against Americans came -- in all probability -- from one of our own: a right-wing fanatic who targeted Democratic Senators and a couple of vapid media types.
Will there be other faked attacks to stampede our lawmakers into surrendering more of our Constitutional rights? Will there be more hatred of Americans across the globe?
