Steps of Peace

1) I admit that I am powerless over my government and that my life
has become unmanageable. 2) I come to believe that a power greater than my government can restore
me to sanity.
3) I make a decision to turn my will and my life over to the cause
of peace as I understand it.
4) I make a searching and fearless moral inventory of my government
and its leaders.
5) I admit to God, myself, and another human being the exact nature
of my government’s wrongs.
6) I become entirely ready to have the cause of peace remove these
defects of character.
7) I humbly ask God to remove my government’s shortcomings.
8) I make a list of the persons that my government has harmed and
become willing to make amends to them all.
9)
I make direct amends to such people except when to do so will injure
them or others.
10) I continue to take my government’s inventory and when they are
wrong I promptly admit it.
11) Through prayer and meditation I continue to improve my conscious
contact with the cause of peace, praying only for the knowledge of
peace’s will for my life and the power to carry that out.
12) Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, I
try to carry this message to others and to practice these principals
in all of my life.
