And Now a Word from BuzzFlash Reader Bob Gaiek

Dear BuzzFlash Fans,
My
vote for the very best site on the internet is BuzzFlash. There
is a lot of competition, but so many sites focus on style rather
than
substance -- which is exactly the problem that disturbs me the most
about the current BUSH CARTEL administration. Support your favorite "activist
site" but support BuzzFlash first. The Bush SOTU was all style
and propaganda with no substance.
To
paraphrase from a recent Helen Thomas article: "this is the
worst president in all of history". One could never reach this
conclusion with a steady diet of corporate media and the deadly assault
on human intelligence known as cable news. But it is important to keep
abreast of what the mainstream media is presenting as objective reporting.
BuzzFlash Links provide a convenient means to do this, along with the
irreverent and incisive headlines. The links also lead to some real "nuggets" of
information and information is really what the BuzzFlash website is
all about.
The
editorials and news analysis are passionate, articulate and most
important of all, dedicated to exposing this illegitimate administration
as the greatest threat to American Democracy this nation has ever faced.
Gore Vidal labels it the "Cheney-Bush junta." Yes, I used
to think that Vidal was a "wacko" also, but I have concluded
that he is far more "patriotic" than Tom Delay and the wingnuts
that worship Little Caesar as the savior of the free world. Maybe his
new book will be featured as a BuzzFlash premium. His literary style
alone is worth the read.
The Internet is great, but some of us maintain a love for books--many
of the best are never available at the local library--books which never
annoy you with pop-up ads and provide a reference for some great quotes
and facts. BuzzFlash has some great premiums to fulfill this need,
along with a site completely without advertising and pop-up ads.The
importance of freedom from commercial sponsorship is absolutely vital. The
Bush Cartel is sponsored by and beholden to corporate America and so
is the corporate media. As a small business owner I can testify that
one's boss is always the person or organization that pays the bills
to keep the lights on.
My own business is being closed for health reasons. This is causing
a big drop in household income and built-in reasons to put a lock on
credit cards and the checkbook. There are so many demands out there
and the Internet provides so many intrusive invitations to purchase
items and services you just can't live without. But the BuzzFlash Mailbag
alone is worth the price of supporting BuzzFlash first.
This
sounds like a paid testimonial one sees on so many websites, but
it absolutely is not. I have no association with BuzzFlash other
than the headline links on my still-under-construction "personal
web page." The motivation for this testimony stems from a year
of looking at special interest and subscriber websites that all have
various limitations.
Moreover,
a year of "absorbing" cable news and other corporate
media has fried my brain. BuzzFlash gets much of the credit for the "road
to recovery." Keep in mind that even C-Span is paid for by the
cable business. I haven't seen the likes of Greg Palast on Washington
Journal for a long time. The senators who spout rhetoric for the
camera in an empty chamber are often people who do not respond to
emails.
They also dismiss huge volumes of email -- such as those against
the Iraq Resolution -- as "not being representative of what
the people really think."
My
own belief is that we must return to old fashioned letter writing
to elected representatives, especially if you have access to a fax
-- the "politicrats" are
hiding behind the "anthrax scare" to really make it snail
mail. Sign up as a GOP Team Leader and use their excellent website
to craft your own letters, addressed and ready to print. The BuzzFlash
expose about this "astroturf" site might shame the DNC
into fashioning something progressives can use and win big prizes
also.
Finally,
stay informed and spread the word. A friend informed me that Bush,
in his SOTU message, was "sincere and showed guts for bringing
up Iraq." God save BuzzFlash.
