Peter Bronson: Clinton-Hater, Lie Spreader, and Biased Journalist

BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY
by Cathy

Dear BuzzFlash,

Thanks to those who took the time to email Peter Bronson of the Cincinnati Enquirer about his anti Clinton article. Admittedly, I had to wait to reply to Bronson with a cool head. He tried to palm me off by directing me to a republican hate rag website to get the facts. We BuzzFlashers have to challenge journalists/editors like Bronson in multitudes. They are a big part of what is wrong with this country.

(My letter)

Mr. Bronson,

I received your email and was too busy to reply until today.

I hate to beleaguer points, but evidently the "Official" Government GAO report has been interpreted by two sets of eyes -- yours, and scores of journalists who recognized that the Bush allegations were nothing more than an attempt to smear the Clinton White House. I also interpreted the report just as scores of journalists across the nation did. In fact, you are the only journalist I've seen who interpreted the report results in the manner that you did. I have read the report in its entirety and cannot come up with anything that seriously justifies your publicized viewpoint.

You retorted that you had read the GAO report, then you referred me to a republican-generated rag website to get the facts. I continue to be amazed that any legitimate journalist and editor would refer a reader to a right-wing hate rag. When I investigated the referred site, I found that it is surely an anti-Clinton hate site and the brainchild of a wealthy Houston businessman and republican operative. This site is a fountain of misinformation with clear intent to smear the Clinton administration. It is also obvious that their campaign to cut down Hillary Clinton is in full bloom. Seems they fear that she could some day run for president. That is the manner in which republican operatives work -- propagandizing those who they fear. The site is right out of NewsMax, the most hate-riddled website I've ever seen. Throw in Sean Hannity and Faux News as endorsers of the Counter Clinton site and voila, we have a right-wing, hate-filled website with distorted opinions and deviancy . . . But hey, this is America! We are free to gobble up all the hate propaganda we choose, right? But should these hate sites influence articles written by a journalist in the Cincinnati Enquirer?

Just the fact that you referred me to this website tells me that you read it. And your article demonstrates that it may have been written with tremendous anti-Clinton influence. Your recent and past articles certainly reflect most of what I saw at the Counter Clinton website. The spoon-fed, reading public in Cincinnati is not as ignorant as you may think.

The "official" GAO report includes explanations and records from the Clinton camp right under the Bush allegations. They are ALSO documented in great detail by the GAO. Anyone who has thoroughly read the actual report can't miss them. You dismissed the Clinton people by insinuating they were liars in your article, yet did not offer a shred of the investigated and documented defense in the GAO report. Furthermore, George Bush ran from the allegations when the Clinton people became enraged and demanded an investigation and the proof. Bush's Press Secretary publicly admitted there was not much basis for the allegations and issued an apology. Bush did not give Clinton a graceful pass. He backed off of the challenge, knowing most of it was trumped up.

I seriously question the intentions of your article. In turn, I would have to judge it as having no merit and void of credibility. As far as I'm concerned, you can save yourself a lot of time by requesting permission to reprint hate articles in the Enquirer from NewsMax and the Counter Clinton Lie-brary.

Here's the website so you can draw your own conclusions. The facts I reporters are documented in great detail.
