Why Obama had to leave Springfield

I was born and raised in Springfield and agree with almost all of the reasons given as to why Barack Obama had to leave, The Horseshoe sandwich is NOT one of them, that is about the only reason to stay in the area. My favorite is the corned beef horseshoe from Darcy's Pint. I hope you had the pleasure of having a horseshoe while filming at Darcy's Pint.

I do agree that the preponderance of Cardinals fans make it a difficult place to live. I'm a CUBS fan and live in an even more difficult place for people of my sports persuasion; I live in St Louis. I hope you feel my pain.

There are many Cubs fans in Springfield though. If you make a return visit go to a bar called the Stadium Club, it's on Peoria Road across the street from the Illinois State Fairgrounds, not only do they also make a good horseshoe, there are Cubs fans present.

“One who is able to protest against a wrong that is being done in his family, his city, his nation or the world and does not do so is held accountable for that wrong being done.”

Turnabout

"Based on? "Republican nominee John McCain's panic and whining about all the coverage that Obama is receiving on his trip to Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordon and Germany." "Why's he so upset?" "He knows." "Knows what?" "That as point man for the powers that be he won't be making history." "Who will?" "Us, with Barack Obama as our agent of change." "We elect him president and then what sort of world?" "It'll be up to us."
