“MCCAIN: I campaigned in Florida against the National Catastrophic Insurance Fund Bill.” [1] When homeowner’s insurance rates jump up from $400 a year to a catastrophic $1800 a year (and that does not include mandatory “flood” insurance rates) but does have a hurricane deductible of over $12,000 on a 1000 square foot home you have to know there’s something rotten somewhere!!! When your taxes go from $900 a year to $2800 a year on that same home in a failing economy, then you begin to realize the sad truth that a Repuglican dominated government does not give a rat’s behind for John Q. American!

Regarding Subject: Hillary Clinton [2]in the June 5 “Mailbag,” [3] my sentiments exactly! I would add, the Hillary Clinton that emerged in the current primary campaign is everything women have been trying to overcome for generations. By emulating Karl Rove and the “swiftboating” of an opponent, she became all that the American people are tired of in the political arena. She failed to realize that the American people are fed up with politics as usual in Washington, D.C. and that a change is what the people are seeking! She failed to recognize the people want WE rather than ME representation! Had she been more astute then there would have been a more favorable outcome for her. If she insists on continuing the same tactics, it will be an even bigger blight on an otherwise commendable career. The time for unity and coming together as a Party is NOW!

“Report: Administration gave biased intel assessment … A pair of Intelligence Committee reports released Thursday said Bush administration officials gave biased and incomplete assessments of Iraq’s threat to the U.S. [4] and inappropriately tried to implicate Iran as a threat to national security … our committee has concluded that the administration made significant claims that were not supported by the intelligence … The reports were backed by a bipartisan majority.” There you have it in black and white what most of us have known from the very beginning!

Finally the truth, “… the White House left out contradictory evidence and exaggerated intelligence to make the threat from Saddam Hussein sound more ominous.” [5] And then as if to excuse an illegal preemptive UNNECESSARY war, “Republicans mocked the report for rehashing old ground.” But I contend, if history does not teach us something about how Repuglicans drummed up an illegal preemptive unnecessary war, then John McCain McBush will continue that war! Some people think “mistakes” were made in the run-up to the war in Iraq, but it is my belief there were no mistakes, George Bush and the Bush administration intentionally “rolled out a campaign” -- (“... while the second [report] ‘details inappropriate, sensitive intelligence activities conducted by the DoD’s Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, without the knowledge of the Intelligence Community or the State Department.’” [6]) to sell a war they planned long before they stole the office of the presidency!

In case you haven’t noticed, when the Regressive Repuglicans utter the word “reform” it’s code for “eliminate”; and John McCain wants to “reform” every sensible government program from social security to health care for the poor! “McCain’s record provides a clue. He has, for example, voted to cut health care funding for the poor [7], child support, and student loans [8]. He vows to reform Social Security without raising taxes, which leaves only two options for the program … The conclusion? If you liked Bush’s economic policy, you’ll love McCain.” [9] And then there’s this: “‘As part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it — along the lines that President Bush proposed.’ Bush’s proposed plan wasn’t supplemental. Instead, he would have allowed workers to ‘divert a portion of Social Security payroll taxes [10] to fund private accounts,’ which would have resulted in ‘reduced Social Security payments from the government.’” Seniors better sit up and take notice, John McCain wants to “reform” -- “eliminate” -- social security! A vote for McCain will be a vote to end retirement as you know it!! Get ready to rejoin the workforce in looking for that job that cannot be found in today’s failed economy!!!

“CAFFERTY: Speaking of Hillary Clinton, she's offering Barack Obama a half a loaf on her way out the door. No joint appearance with the presumptive nominee and their families in prime time … No appearances by … Harold Ickes or Terry McAuliffe, who ran her campaign, telling her supporters to unite behind Barack Obama. No appearance by Bill Clinton saying let bygones be bygones, I'm going to offer to work hard to get Barack Obama elected. … Senator Clinton is planning a public appearance on Saturday to talk about how ‘we can rally the party behind Senator Obama. The stakes are too high and the task before us too important to do otherwise.’… it turns out Clinton had to be pushed to get out of the race by several of her Democratic Congressional colleagues … she didn't even bother to call Barack Obama to tell him of her decision … Clinton is expected to suspend her campaign instead of dropping out altogether … that means she will remain a candidate she intends to hold onto her delegates … questions about what Clinton does next will turn into a second campaign that won't end until Obama chooses a running mate -- a job that Clinton is apparently interested in … Mike Lupica, an old buddy of mine, writes in the "New York "Daily News" … at the end of this, Clinton is trying to rewrite the party rules that her people helped to write in the first place ... ‘She acts as if she is the shadow president of a constituency that includes the 18 million people she says voted for her, [11] as if those votes belong to her; as if all 18 million people are waiting for her to give them their marching orders. She leaves the race with the same air of entitlement with which she entered.’" Would someone, puleezze tell HRC she lost!

If Patrick Fitzgerald is half the prosecutor we’ve heard he is, [12] and if he truly believes in Justice, then he should testify before Congress and tell the truth about Karl Rove!!! “Fitzgerald indicates he may be ready to testify on Rove’s efforts to push him out. [13]”
