BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE
Hooray, it’s almost over, I hope! Tomorrow the Democratic Party will have a nominee, I hope! The divisiveness and the politics as usual will be over, I hope! “Yes we can” finally get down to the business of a national campaign, I hope!

Anyone of the Jewish point of view who would welcome the support of Rev. Hagee does so at their own peril [1] for Hagee believes that the Apocalypse is coming and according to “Gershom Gorenberg [2]… an American-born Israeli author and journalist, … Jews will die or convert … the problem of what Hagee believes about Jews, and what he's willing to justify, should be raised again and again to Jews who have been willing to build alliances with him: Joe Lieberman [3], AIPAC [4], Malcolm Hoenlein [5] (the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations).”

This morning I made a special effort to listen to an interview with Admiral Fallon on CNN, [6] I was hoping he would step up to the plate and serve the American people, I was hoping for the truth, but alas that wasn’t to be, like a good little soldier, he fell on his own sword! He supported the Bushies, betrayed the American people and the troops he pledged to serve! So much for that business of “being his own man”!

And now you know just how much Dick Cheney really cares about you! “‘I had Cheneys on both sides of the family — and we don't even live in West Virginia,’ Cheney cracked. After pausing for laughter from the crowd, ‘You can say those things when you're not running for re-election.’" And correctly, Senator Robert Byrd called Cheney on his remarks, “‘Sen. Robert Byrd lashed out at Cheney for the "insult to all Americans’… Byrd declared that Cheney showed ‘contempt and astounding ignorance toward his own countrymen’ [7] with the comments. Now that he or the administration he represents no longer needs their vote, Mr. Cheney apparently feels that he is now free to mock and belittle the people of West Virginia…With his trademark arrogance, the vice president even added, 'You can say those things when you're not running for re-election.'" And just as disturbing was the laughter these remarks generated at the “National Press Club”! It goes to show how the “National Press Club” members are nothing more than good little lemmings for all things Bush and Cheney!

“1,213,716” reasons why the war in Iraq was IMMORAL and WRONG! News you won’t hear from mainstream corporate media in America. [8] “On Sep. 14, 2007, Opinion Research Business (ORB), an independent polling agency located in London, produced a figure of 1,220,580 deaths as a result of the invasion.” [9]

Hmm, when you finally see the answers to the questions in black and white, you begin to realize just how insane Bush’s war really is: “Have further terrorist attacks been prevented? No, they have not been, as the victims of the Madrid train bombing will attest, Has any evidence of a link between weapons of mass destruction and the former Iraqi regime and terrorists been found? No. Have the actions of rogue states like Iran been moderated? No. … After five years, has the humanitarian crisis in Iraq been removed? No it has not." And finally there’s this: “… the pre-war warning that an attack on Iraq would increase the terrorist threat, not decrease it." [10] Key word here is INCREASE! It leaves one with the indisputable knowledge that this was not a “mistake,” it was not a lack of credible intelligence, plain and simple Iraq was not a threat, this horror was an intentional, senseless, illegal, preemptive, unnecessary war!

“The best way to summarize it is that they put compromised or ‘correct’ U.S. attorneys into positions in states where they needed to eliminate particular individuals as political opponents. [11] These U.S. attorneys then acted in ways that were irresponsible, and likely criminal… Siegelman was convicted under the Bush Department of Justice and a U.S. attorney that had relationships with the Republican campaign for governor and other offices… Rove's dream was to recreate the landscape of the judicial system, and to install judges that were either pliable, malleable, and/or very, very pro-corporation. Essentially that is what he did in Alabama in the early Nineties. That is what this is all about. If you control the governor in the states where the justices are not elected, you control who gets on the supreme court. And that's essentially what this is all about for Rove ultimately. But to get those kinds of things done, you have to eliminate the governor you don't want and install the governor you do want.” Never before has the phrase “absolute power corrupts absolutely” been as accurate, more appropriate, and despicable as it is now in describing George Bush and his very political partner Karl Rove! Their “brand” of politicking is as insidious and as dangerous, as any foreign enemy! It threatens our democracy and the American way of life. To borrow a phrase, the “urgency of now” is definitely upon us, and now is the time for the people of America to take our government back, it is time for justice to prevail, and it is way past time for that “frog-march” in handcuffs!

“… Bush’s visit was preceded by controversy as more than 200 faculty and students signed a letter objecting to his policies on the Iraq war, detentions and other issues. [12] A conservative group responded with its own, larger list of signatories, and said the protesters were being disrespectful of the presidency” It would be “disrespectful” NOT to PROTEST because the person who has been disrespecting the office of the presidency is George W. Bush, he has brought dishonor and disgrace on the Presidency of the United States of America! He undermined the Constitution and wreaked havoc on it’s principles; he lied to the American people, with malice and forethought he deliberately invaded a nation that did not attack us, he is responsible for an illegal, preemptive, unnecessary war, he is responsible for the “rendition” and eventual torture and abuse of innocent as well as guilty prisoners, he is ultimately liable for the deaths of over 4000 American soldiers as well as hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, he has flagrantly disregarded the wants, needs, and desires of the people of the United States of America, and he selfishly conducted the business of America as though he is a King! Actually, George W. Bush is the one who is “disrespectful” and I would also add contemptible!
