MS SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
Cracking down on China? Cracking down on Iran? What does any of this mean coming from someone who voted to "crack down" on Iraq? Out of many of the Democratic Party challenges, when it comes to attacking your own Party, this has been one of the most disappointing and destructive campaigns for the Democratic Party in years. How many Democrats do we Americans know who would continue to denigrate the very platform that they are campaigning for . . . Lieberman comes to mind, and as he wanted the Democratic Party's loyalty, his own was in question as he bussed Bush and supported the Bush GOP's every anti-American move, and still does to this day . . . and, so did Hillary Clinton. She thinks of the elderly Bush as an ambassador. Again, that's status quo, fellow Americans, not change.
"The death of democracy is not likely to be an assassination from ambush. It will be a slow extinction from apathy, indifference, and undernourishment." -- Robert M. Hutchins, Great Books, 1954
We Americans have had to live with and be blamed for thirty years of Republican rule that has brought about high debt, no justice or hint of accountability, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, and the destruction of their homeland as well as the ongoing destruction, bit by bit, of US democracy . . . and, what is Senator Clinton's answer to that . . . not accountability, but threats of more war, more debt, more death, and more destruction.
This pattern is neither the pattern of a real, flourishing democracy nor of a real, heartfelt Democrat. That kind of Democrat would not have the hawkish record that Hillary Clinton has, referring to Stephen Zune, who is a professor of politics at the University of San Francisco, and his article in the National Catholic Recorder on March 9, 2007 . . . Professor Zune points out that Senator Clinton and her foreign policy positions are much closer to Ronald Reagan's than to the left wing of the Democratic Party, however, enough to gag a liberal or progressive upon hearing Hillary claiming to be a progressive Democrat . . .
And, if people are paying attention, so were those eight years of the Clintons' reign, sorta, kinda like Reagan politics, keeping the Republican Party happy while that same Party trashed the Clinton White House and had the gall to impeach President Bill Clinton over a cheap sexual dalliance. Something we later learned that the Republicans know all about themselves, and some were doing it at the same time. One by the name of Gingrich.
It bears constant repeating for those Americans who say they want change and yet, still support Hillary Clinton's ideas for our future . . . paraphrasing from Zune's article: Senator Clinton opposes the international treaty to ban land mines. She opposed US arm restrictions on transfers and police training to governments that engage in gross human rights abuses, such as Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Israel, Pakistan, Cameroon, and Chad to name a few. More funding to Bush's invasion of Iraq, which she voted for. Again, she condemned the UN's judicial arm for challenging the legality of Israel's separation barrier in the occupied West Bank.
She supported the delivery of nuclear-capable missiles and jet fighters to countries such as Pakistan, Israel and India and opposed the enforcement of UN Security Council resolution challenging their nuclear programs, yet threatens to attack Iran. These ideas are self-defeating to the US and to US democracy . . . no thought to future generations, to peace . . . only to the same rhetoric that we have had to listen to and already know the result of . . . rhetoric by the treasonous Bush GOP administration. To this day, Hillary has not had to explain herself on any of these issues, and how she thinks they differ from the Bush GOP treasonous regime.
Speaking as a life-long Democrat . . . the above has nothing to do with what a Democrat believes . . . where is the compassion, negotiations for peace . . . the only people who suffer from dogmatic belief systems and arrogant superiority in leadership are the people . . . the innocent people. Israel's government does not represent the people. Iraq's dictatorship did not represent the people and neither does the government of Iran . . . Bush certainly never represented us Americans or US democracy at work.
Clinton recently has ratcheted up her anti-China sentiments, criticizing the country on everything from its human rights violations to its undervalued currency.
"I'm the only candidate who isn't just talking about cracking down on China but I have a specific plan on how to do it," she told union members at the AFL-CIO's Building Trades National Legislative Conference on Wednesday.

America's democracy is bleeding today from the many wounds it has suffered from the Republican Party due to a US government without the due process of US law . . . whatever is in the heart and mind of every American, our country and our democracy should come first before the loyalty to any political figure, and the propaganda surrounding that figure, which describes the Bush GOP administration completely. Americans couldn't work for them unless they were going to be loyal, hence, we have a government that is unable to take care of business, and people have died because of the lack of a professionally appointed government for their expertise. Of course, the lack of government is exactly what the Bush GOP wanted, to hell with the American people.
Judging by the fact that Hillary Clinton chose to use lies, cheap tricks, racism, and propaganda all through her campaign, she should be seen more as a Republican than as any qualified Democrat to lead this country's democracy using the platform of the Democratic Party whom she debases. She has said so herself how much she likes Senator McCain. Why can't we Americans hate the fact that the Clintons chose the same tactics as the criminal Republican Party? And, why can't we talk about it? Hillary Clinton is a Bush GOP candidate's dream come true. She can flatter and praise the Republicans and ask for and get their support, but when it comes to the election they will treat her just like they treated the Clintons for eight long years during the nineties . . . and, who will suffer for it . . . not the Clintons, they have become multimillionaires due to their government connections, but the American people.
The Democratic Party stood by the Clintons and this is the payback we get. For many Americans, maybe it seems that the Clintons have made their own luck, which reminds me of a book, How to Make Luck, by Marc Myers, 1999. He talks about emotional intelligence, and if we compare some of his seven rules, a couple stand out . . . he refers to them as "lucky secrets," "Let Powerful People Own a Piece of You . . . I think it's fair to say that the Clintons learned that lucky secret . . . let's turn to one that they didn't think of . . . "Fireproof your bridges."
We Americans have had at least thirty years of leadership strictly influenced by the emotions of the greed for monetary gain (is there no limit to these multimillionaires' greed?) and power. For change, we Americans must examine our own emotions mixed with our intellect, and followed up and examined by our integrity . . . it's time to break this pattern of debt, death, and destruction that this country has allowed without any accountability for the last half of the 20th century. It's pretty clear that we can count on the fact that Hillary Clinton will not seek any accountability for the treasonous actions by the Bush GOP administration . . . which means more of the same will follow in the future.
We Americans can choose to allow our democracy to be slashed, trashed, and burned through constant war and the expense of it, or we can choose a better life for all of the future generations around the world. Why should the American people and people around the world have to suffer due to the continuance of the same poor judgment in leadership that we've had for the last thirty years . . . and, so simple, all we have to do is examine the candidates' own records . . . if Hillary Clinton is made accountable for her own record and for her constant praise of McCain, whose own war record can be found without the propaganda in Russ Kick's You Are Being Lied To, [2] and the article, "The War Secrets Senator John McCain Hides, [3] Sydney Schanberg, page 88 . . . then democracy still has a chance to recover.
We have only ourselves to blame . . . let's stop the carnage, the slaughter before it happens . . . before it becomes our history again and again. Bush was never elected, and was allowed to be selected. We can't keep allowing our leaders to be selected for us, and then watch while they kill the world's children, husbands, wives, whole families, generations, and then send us the bill. That would qualify as our democracy's murder by suicide . . . wouldn't it?
