Another reason, among many, NOT to vote for Bush clone, John McCain! “… the Arizona Republican not only favors overturning the Roe v. Wade [1] decision and curtailing abortion rights but is also opposed to requiring contraceptive coverage by health plans [2] and favors abstinence-only sex education.”

“It’s like watching a Democratic mirror image of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove…” [3] I would like to believe the Clinton campaign is a classic case of; “if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em”, somehow it would soften the blow of the Clintons' current campaign “war room” tactics. But sadly, thinking back to the book and movie, “Primary Colors,” it’s beginning to look as though the smear and scandal methods are part and parcel of the Clintons' need for power! To say reality is disappointing is an understatement; politics as usual is totally unacceptable in this current world full of discontent! It’s time for a real change!

Oh Mr. Dobbs, while some will agree, there will also be a whole lot of people who won’t appreciate what you had to say: “DOBBS: … Dealing with the fact that this pope has entered the United States talking politics, domestic politics, U.S. politics and talking about illegal immigration, and many people are offended by it. And even some going so far as to suggest the Catholic Church should be taxed if the pope is going to act like a head of state instead of the leader of a church [4] … You know I was sort of surprised it's the first time the president has ever bothered to go down to Andrews Air Force Base and greet a guest of any kind.”

Interestingly, what a revolting development this has become: “Nash is pretty popular with the traveling press now in Pennsylvania. It turns out McCabe was featured in an April 4th story [5] in the Times which begins like this ... Nash McCabe, 52, seems almost relieved to be able to unpack the dossier she has been collecting in her head. It is not about whom she likes, but more a bill of particulars about why she cannot vote for Senator Barack Obama …‘How can I vote for a president who won’t wear a flag pin?’” [6] It’s a lesson in how to infuse the audience with your predisposed bias! Another “my bad” for Stephanopoulos, Gibson, and ABC!

If indeed you want to play the “Guilt by Association” [7] game, George and Sean, then you guys really must swallow the “bitter pill” and suffer the consequences as well! Put the company you keep where your silly mouth is, George Stephanopoulos: “George Stephanopoulos was just on the Sean Hannity Radio show getting all chummy with Hannity.” [8] And then there’s Hannity’s good friend Hal Turner, “Stephanopoulos should …ask Hannity about HIS relationship with Neo-Nazi/white supremacist Hal Turner [9]….Hannity’s relationship to Turner had real substance. Turner was invited to the set of Hannity & Colmes, the two men spoke off the air and Turner had the “back door” phone number to the studio at WABC.” GOTCHA!

“Wall to Wall Ugly,” [10] the best description of the foolishness ABC tried to portray as a debate!

As George Stephanopoulos and Charlie Gibson over at ABC news were conducting the most inane debate to date, back in the real world: “ [11]300,000 vets have mental problem, 320,000 had brain injuries [12] …‘Unless they receive appropriate and effective care for these mental health conditions, there will be long-term consequences for them and for the nation …’"---“50 killed in Iraq suicide bombing [13] ... A suicide bomber struck the funeral of two anti-al-Qaida Sunni tribesmen … killing at least 50 people”---“It's strange that the business and geopolitics of energy takes up so little space on American front pages [14] -- or that we could conduct an oil war [15] in Iraq with hardly a mention of the words "oil" and "war" in the same paragraph….food riots now spreading [16] across the planet…the prices of staples are soaring [17], while stocks of basics are falling.” “The End of the World as You Know It...Oil at $110 a barrel. Gasoline at $3.35 (or more) per gallon. Diesel fuel at $4 per gallon. Independent truckers forced off the road. Home heating oil rising to unconscionable price levels. Jet fuel so expensive that three low-cost airlines stopped flying in the past few weeks. This is just a taste of the latest energy news, signaling a profound change in how all of us, in this country and around the world, are going to live…” All this while George and Charlie were discussing stupid questions about “lapel pins”. Go figure!

One last comment, regarding Mailbag comment, [18] Subject: Stuff (Jane Hawes): You go girl! If only the politicians in Congress would learn that “Thou shalt not bear false witness” is one of the Ten Commandments, and obey that one, then maybe, just maybe America would be a better place!
