Subject: Bush might not speak at RNC on Monday because of Gustav.

President Bush is scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention on Monday, but with Tropical Storm Gustav expected to hit Gulf coast, the White House is beginning to hint that President Bush might not speak that day. Fox News' Bret Baier reports today that there "are conversations under way" at the White House about whether Bush "will in fact speak on Monday."

Subject: McCain's Negatives

Seems like the MSM has kissed the eyes of McCain ... and the average citizen with a computer and google.com can find a whole bunch of negatives about the person McCain. All one has to do is go to google.com and type in l. McCain Crashes Jet Onto Aircraft Carrier and 2. Songbird McCain (Seems like he is exaggerating his POW status in VN) 3. John McCain and Don Diamond 4. McCain and the Keating Five I am sure there are others but these are all that a normal person can stomach... As Casey Stengel once said, "You could look it up!" Absolutely!!

Subject: A long Time Coming

August 27, 2008 Denver The National Democratic Convention

Hearing speaker of US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi announce, "It is with great pride that I announce Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for president of the United States by acclamation," I was overwhelmed with such a deep sense of accomplishment. No, not because of the long hard months of campaigning. It went much further than an election cycle. Pelosi's words merely opened up a sea of memories of years past and I soon was flooded with images which were formed during my participation in the Civil Rights Movement.

In my mind as the tears flowed down my face and the Denver crowd applause faded to the background, vivid splashes of instant replay came to the forefront of a different historical moment . My history, like so many others, that also organized for change in the 60's and 70's. A sad, hard and difficult memory of being so proud to fight for what I knew in my heart was right. Yet also being subjected to so many horrific obstacles along the way.

I remembered in a flash of a second, all I had experienced, as a white girl growing up in middle class America and participating in Civil Rights. Those experiences usually came in the form of dodging the horrendous negatives that were tossed every step of the way. But we continued on, because we knew in our hearts and in our minds that we were right.

I saw in my mind, visions of shoes all pointed in the same direction, proudly walking toward one goal. I heard voices that sang in proud unison, as the rain poured down and soaked our clothes, as the heat parched our throats and the cold numbed our fingers. We marched on still, despite the overwhelming adversities that we painstakingly learned to hurdle. We marched on only to be followed by Police that dared not protect us, but rather harass. We marched on past the sea of voices that hurled waves of hatred, slurs and fists at us. Still we marched on. Despite the threats, beatings, and arrests. For we knew collectively in our souls, that we were right . And we continued on despite the frustration, the tears, the mace, the burned crosses, and being ostracized by those in our own communities. We marched onward with great pride and determination.

It became obvious to me that I had not visited these thoughts in quite a long time, and in a fraction of a second, they all came back to me as if it were yesterday and I cried. I cried for the years of abuse that we had endured. I cried knowing that we were right, yet so many thought otherwise.

And tonight, it is a strange mix of finally being vindicated or validated, as the first African American Presidential Nominee is ushered in. Yes an historical event by any measure, but, I also see that for so many, life has not improved, but rather gotten worse and filled with despair.

Yet, bigotry and hatred has become mainstream media's convenient wedge to further divide a country that so many had worked so hard to unite over the decades.

I see the reality of parallel tracks of today and yesterday, and it saddens me to think, that yes, while I sit and watch such an historic event, we've not come as far as we ought to. But that is not due to lack of trying, but rather civil rights has been placed in a political bin or an arsenal of horrors. Racial issues have resurfaced not as a proud unifying effort or movement but rather as a fear tactic within the skewed arena of what has become politics in America.

I saw in a flash the socio-economical divide that was the symptom of a diseased country, and how that symptom of inequality was transformed into a civil rights movement. But now, here we are in 2008 and we are still suffering the effects of being a very diseased country. And that disease has been perpetuated by a few that have control. The symptoms of our own country's illness has since spread like a fire and now afflicts the vast majority of peoples of all color within these so called United States. As we all now discuss the many of the issues of race of the past and celebrate Barack Obama's nomination, the illness has spread and most all of America has become affected. Poverty, uninsured, unemployment, foreclosures, etc.

What once plagued a segment of our society years ago has not gone away, but is now affecting all peoples in this land.

The last 8 years can be best remembered as the administration that systematically injected hate via manipulation and fear and all that was gained during the Civil Rights Movement is a target for shock jock hate talking points and propaganda. It worked for the powers that be, against people of color and those same tactics are being used against an entire population of varied socioeconomic, religious and ethnic backgrounds today.

Although I celebrate Obama's achievements with much admiration, I must also look at it within the context of realty. Yes we've come so far, but we have also been strategically forced backwards by those that profess Christian superiority while hating their neighbor. Preach love of country while sending poorly equipped troops to invade a country that did not attack us. An Administration that has invented more scapegoats as evidence by the many recent ICE raids. Civil Rights and Civil Liberties have been attacked and stripped from within our country by those in the highest offices of our own Government. Our economic system has been systematically and criminally hijacked while entire industries, were shipped overseas with tax incentives, to countries we are taught to also hate. The process rewards only a few while increasingly more and more people are being pushed to below poverty levels.

When will Americans stop being so easily manipulated? When the powers that be, stop preying on the unrealistic fears of the ignorant, arrogant, self-righteous gun-touting few? When mainstream media stops manipulating viewers into thinking those dysfunctional and delusional messages are the normal majority. While those of rational minds, are demonized for being liberals. We've been manipulated by mainstream media and directed by so few to create an illusion of a unified and justified hate-filled America. That is not the America I marched for and risked being beaten, harassed, ridiculed, dehumanized, and insulted, and arrested. In the end to have all people's voices, rights and liberties taken away by the likes of the neoconservative movement.

We shall overcome again and this time the movement will include all peoples of all races, religions and sexual preferences. No more, will so few, dictate so wrongly, to so many. We outnumber them and this movement will succeed because we will no longer allow the growth of an illusion of being a cohesive conservative United States. Nor should our elected officials fall into that same rut of making policies based on falsehoods. We ought never again allow mainstream media giants to define what these United States is. For, We the People, by the People, still rings loud and clear and we will not be silenced, manipulated or shoved into a fenced-in free speech zone ever again. We are the masses and we have a hell of a lot to say and much work to do in order to correct the wrongs of the Conservatives' hideous and criminal actions that have negatively affected so many for for too long. Both here and elsewhere across the globe.

I hope that Barack Obama does not lose site that We are the United States. A country for the People and by the People. Not By corporations, back-room deals and the selling of a carefully designed manipulated illusion.

The most important lesson I think Americans must realize is, the power of illusion via lies and manipulation and creating a false reality that so many felt was their patriotic duty to swallow, while for some, served to justify their own hate-filled beliefs. The manipulation of one's fears and hatreds is what has brought us to where we are today. And the time is now for all Americans to throw up what has been force fed down their throats and to begin to walk in the same direction for a creative future for all peoples. Not be afraid to celebrate diversit , embrace our uniqueness, while promoting our humanity with peaceful means and solutions, rather than divide, hate and isolate.

Dr. Martin Luther King, had it right all along. His dream was meant for all peoples of this world. I only hope that Barack Obama, Joe Biden and all politicians remain true to their words. For our world depends upon the trust we have given to them. And perhaps, We Shall Overcome in a global sense, despite the abuses of power that we were forced to endure through the many years of greed and power through corporate governance and Government Manipulation.

I can hope that by selecting Barack Obama as Democratic Presidential Nominee, that those that have had their hate justified by Government for so long, will finally realize that they were used and were pawns in this hideous and criminal charade we call the Bush years. They're losing their homes and jobs just like everyone else. We've all been bushed, burned and battered. It's time we exhale and move toward a collective goal that unites, rather than divided. After all, we only get to do this once, let's at least get it right for all our sakes, and remember this, The mega wealthy CEOs that bought and wrote their own policies via DC, care not one bit about the people that made their incomes swell. Learn, too, that they used all of those that felt justified by their bigotry. You see, Corporate America does not discriminate. It screws all of the people, all of the time, no matter what race, religion or sexual preference. Just as the Conservative Republican regime has done. They see one color and one color only and that is the color of money.

Congratulations to Sen. Barack Obama. You've indeed made history. We all have:-) Jude Rouslin/insideoutgraphics 8/28/2008

Subject: Jitters about tonight's venue.

August 28, 2008-- Jitters About Tonight’s Speech

The decision to do his acceptance speech in this venue was made long ago before the GOP decided large crowds, wanting to attend a speech in the heat, is something they just don’t care for. The more the merrier just isn’t a plank in the GOP platform and never has been. No big tent for them.

Except when you delay the homecoming of an AirCraft carrier, anchor it where you can’t see San Diego in the background, land in a Viking, dressed in a flight suit and then give a talk in front of a huge Mission Accomplished banner and 5 years later and over 4,000 more transfer tubes later we are still there. No one can beat Bush/Rove for staged events, not even Barack Obama. If you don’t remember Bush’s touting of the event, here it is from the White House website and make sure and take notice of his being careful not to hit civilians;

President Bush Announces Major Combat Operations in Iraq Have Ended

I don’t know if McCain still calls them the Bush pioneers, but they can easily fit in a reasonably large meeting room at a cafeteria. As an example, they are throwing a shindig for McCain supporters in OKC at a private residence for Sept. 12th.

There will be invitations sent out; you can eat for $1000, have a picture taken with Dubya for $5,000 and actually have a couple of minutes with Dubya for $25,000. At those prices you don’t need a stadium.

The GOP has started calling the stadium for tonight’s event the “Temple of Obama” or the “Barackapolis” because of the stage setting. They are trying to pretend that McCain would actually turn away a large crowd, if he could pull one.

If he builds it they will come and why not? Obama has excited a whole new generation. I am waiting for McCain to get all of his young warmongers fired up enough to actually put on a uniform, but so far he has not had a lot of success. As usual young republicans support wars they are too busy to fight in.

I haven’t watched the entire convention this week, but I am thinking I may watch next week to see if anyone on the GOP side can cause that much excitement. The overall theme for the GOP convention is “Country First” and on Monday the guy they called “Loserman” in 2000 will speak and for added excitement, Ahhnold and Laura are scheduled.

On Tuesday the sub-theme is “reform” which seems strange since Fox News’ Megan Kelly decided to go after Michelle Obama for saying “The world as it is just will not do” and indicated that it meant she was anti-country and Megan seemed to indicate that the GOP thinks it needs no reforming. On Tuesday they give you Rudy, I can’t make a complete sentence without saying 9/11, Giuliani and the Huckster. Huck can be funny when he isn’t making jokes about African Americans being shot.

On Wednesday the theme is “Prosperity” and what a line-up; Prosperity is Cindy McCain’s strong suit because she is the epitome of prosperous. And Romney, wow he and Cindy can count their houses while discussing the housing crisis the rest of us are experiencing. Gov. Jindal of Louisiana will discuss how prosperous New Orleans has become and we can all hope Gustav doesn’t hit New Orleans during the GOP festivities because if Dubya wouldn't leave McCain's 68th birthday party in 2005 for New Orleans we can't promise what he will do this time. I assume that last, but not least, will be the VP nominee. I want to be at Dobson’s house if he chooses Lieberman to watch the Rev’s head explode.

Is Dubya going to skip the convention?

On Thursday they have Pawlenty, Crist, Brownback and Martinez. Why not Tancredo and Hagee? And then comes Mr. Excitement, himself, McCain.

Obama calls Michelle his rock. I have no idea what Bill calls Hillary, but I do remember back in 2003 when it was revealed that Dubya calls Laura “the lump in his bed.” He and a lot of other people liked to say that she was his “secret weapon.”

I would like to take you back to Dec. 4, 2003 when I wrote this;

"December 4, 2003

I desperately need a cartoonist. Since the Crawford, Texas gift shop is selling magnets with Chirac kissing Laura Bush's hand with the caption, "Laura Bush: America's Secret Weapon" I have an idea for a cartoon or a shirt.

It should have a bed, with a huge W on the headboard and a cowboy hat on the bedpost and cowboy boots at the side. There should be a large lump with a hand sticking out from the covers on the side of the bed. Chirac should be bowing to kiss the hand. Caption: "The Lump in Dubya's Bed: Ameica's Secret Weapon". It was a freedom kiss and not a French kiss."

Remember Freedom Fries. I hate to say this, but the French and the Russians were correct about Iraq

I cannot wait for “Bring it on” Bush and his lump to be out of the White House and I don’t think the McCains should qualify for public housing, especially not that public housing.

Subject: Back to the Stone Age

I know we're in the age of technology, but our modern day technology has cost the American people two presidential elections.

Call me old fashioned, but I think we need to bring back the OLD BALLOT BOX.

It has been proven that these electronic voting machines can be hacked and that they were.

http://www.velvetrevolution.us/ 8/27/08 "Diebold Cover up Stephen Spoonamore Confronts MD Board of Elections with Redacted SAIC Report".

also: 8/07/08 at Velvet Revolution "GOP Cyber Sleuth Accuses GOP of Stealing Elections" see all 8 videos.

All states should have a PAPER BALLOT AND A BALLOT BOX. This way, even if a state uses electronic voting machines, the REAL VOTE will be tabulated.

The paper ballot then can be cross checked against the exit polls. This should protect the votes of the people.

As far as I'm concerned, ALL voting machines should be dumped. A PAPER TRAIL is the ONLY way to insure that democracy stays alive in our country.

Maybe voting machines were a good idea in a good and kind world. Unfortunately, we're living in a world where we have bad and evil people who will do anything to win.

Bad people USED these voting machines to STEAL ELECTIONS, so that they'd ALWAYS WIN, NO MATTER WHAT.

We MUST restore our right that EACH AND EVERY VOTE COUNT AND BE COUNTED.

Impeachment hearings, EVEN NOW, would help to protect our presidential election.

Knowing that they (Bush administration) will be held ACCOUNTABLE for ALL their criminal activities committed during the past EIGHT YEARS, will help to insure a more HONEST election in 2008.

Hound Congress and DEMAND IMPEACHMENT EVEN NOW. No one is above the law, PERIOD.

Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!

Subject: Fear

Where do I go if the Republicans win? I cannot believe they are even running ANYONE this time. This race should be given to the Democrats, and the Republicans should slink away into their dark caves. It amazes me that some "Americans" would rather see this country destroyed, than elect a black man. It amazes me that anyone hearing Obama speak can vote for McCain.

I have lived in the twilight zone for the past 8 years; unbelieving what I saw. A lazy, ingorant president, lies and treachery, an unjust war, greed, the bleeding of the middle class, making fools and unpatriots of anyone who disagreed. They tortured, lied some more, monitored our phones, disgraced this country in the world view, made me uneasy to travel, not due to terroists but our president.

Bush is not smart enough to cause all this harm and much has to be placed on the rest of the Republicans who did not pull him out of the White House by his ears. All I have wanted to say is "Shame!"

My parents came to American from Europe after the war for a new life, they lived through Hitler, and would tear up when they spoke of America. They were not happy when I went door to door for various presidential candidates. They would roll in their graves seeing what has been done. My dad would be so grateful, he would sit back and say, "America is a good country." If he were alive I don't think he would agree, and he would tear up again from shame and embarrassment.

Subject: Georgia On My Mine

The first thing that crossed my mind, was that the Bush administration was behind the Georgia-Russian conflict?

Well sure enough Vladimir Putin is now telling CNN that Bush and Company did just that for POLITICAL PURPOSES.

www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/28/russia.georgia...

Am I surprised to hear that, not really. I think that anything else that happens around the world may possibly be a Rove/Cheney diversion, in order to win the election.

Remember these are the "Bring Them On" gang, "Let's fight them over there and not over here".

This criminal element can't win without a war to hide behind. Their platform is War and More War. So they need wars, any war, anywhere, to be able to show the American people how tough they are.

Using the Fear card once again, they expect to win another election.

This time round, I think the American people can't be fooled. Fool me once (9/11) fool me twice (attacking Iraq) fool me three times shame on me.

Our Constitution and our freedoms are at stake until this election is over and this Bush administration is OUT.

Until then ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING could happen to stop the election itself.

We must get IMPEACHMENT ON THE TABLE, to put a break on any more crimes that could be committed by Bush/Cheney.

Call Congress at 1-800-828-0498 ask the operator for your representative or senator.

IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH!

Subject: Biden. Hope he is not going to run for Pres again

The only thing I would be careful with Biden on is his link to a creepy bank. I am still furious with Biden for signing that GOP bankruptcy bill. He was one of two Democrats to sign that abusive bill. Bayh was the other one. Interesting. I know Delaware quite well since I was born in that place and lived there and taught at St Marks High after Jill Jacobs left that job and married Joe. I hope Biden is not planning on running for president. VP ok. He can give speeches since that is what he is good at. But I don't want Biden as President some day. I might as well not vote, at that point.

[BuzzFlash Note: Lots more than 2 Democratic Senators voted aye on the bill that passed 74-25 (one not voting).]

Subject: Will Bush leave in 09?

I just get a creepy feeling that Bush is not planning to leave in 09. I don't know why. I just do. No wonder they keep Kucinich and McKinney shut up. Kucinich called for impeachement, McKinney encourages us to listen to him, and Pelosi was not paying attention. They are not allowed in any forum. We better be paying attention. We have our head in the clouds and we are not focusing on the real problem. Remember when Hillary said the GOP is not going to leave voluntarily? They are not. I say Bush is not going to leave voluntarily. I say something is not right. This bothers me but I get this feeling he will not leave.

Subject: Don't mention the Clintons anymore.

I'm still trying to figure out why Obama congratulated Hillary saying that her speech was great. Why is he mentioning her? He doesn't like the Clintons and that has been abundantly clear for months. I would trust Obama more if he just didn't talk about her. He is trying too hard to appear like he respects her and I don't think that is good for him. He needs to stop talking about Hillary and stop talking about Bill. People know that Obama is not fond of the Clintons and he would be better off not mentioning them. The less Obama talks about the Clintons, the less hypocritical he will look. People will move on and just vote for him if he would just stop with the buttering up. It sounds too forced.

"Look for where?"

"In the speech's effect on oneself."

"For example?"

"A profound sense of relief."

"Based on?"

"The sudden resurgence of hope."

"Due to?"

"One's realizing that another world not only is possible, it's doable."

"Why not?"

"This background chatter is strictly a diversion."

"For what purpose?"

"That of preventing Barack Obama's message of hope and change from getting through."

"His message being?"

"That another world not only is possible, it's doable."

"Based on?"

"One equals one."

Subject: Patriotic Warriors?

Last night I watched the Democratic Convention. One of the many speakers was Congressman Patrick Murphy (PA) who is an Iraq veteran. There was a contingent of Iraq veterans who appeared on-stage with Mr. Murphy.

I noticed something interesting: None of them was wearing an American Flag lapel pin.

Will the Neopublicrats now claim that these Iraq War Veterans are not patriotic because they were not wearing the "requisite" pin that supposedly determines an individual's patriotism?

Subject: Russia and Georgia

BuzzFlash is becoming too committed to the Democrats. Obama et al. had their chance to accuse Mr. Bush of war mongering after the Russian invasion of Ossetia / Georgia and the beligerent addition of pro US weapons in Poland. This is important stuff. Possibly more important than Iraq! If BuzzFlash is progressive give some other people a sounding board. How about Ralph Nader for starters? Why? Cleary nearly all of the Democrats mime the Republican line here!

Subject: McCain Doesn't Know How to Win a War

Why has no one challenged McCain's often repeated statement that "I know how to win wars"?

The only war in which he participated, he was shot down at 20,000 feet above the actual ground fighting in 1967, and spent the rest of that war in a prison camp.

How does that add up to "knowing how to win wars"?

Subject: McCain's Medical Condition

A couple of weeks ago I had a letter published in our weekly paper about McCain and Alzheimer's at www.voicenews.com. This week my husband had an article that addressed the question of racism in the www.thetimesherald.com which is the only daily newspaper in this county. Racism is alive and well in America and the ability of McCain to not HAVE to open all of his medical records means he is hiding something quite important. Sincerely,

Marjorie and Walter Radike

Subject: Measuring Candidates

Since a megachurch leader has had the opportunity to interview the two candidates, why wouldn't it be just as suitable for a major union leader to have the same opportunity?  Instead of trying to establish a measure of faith and morality, it would be more important to determine where the two candidates stand on real, live issues that are far more important to American citizens. Jobs, Health, Education, and other major economic issues.
