SO, NOW, WHAT PART OF THAT STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE?

Subject: Social Conservatives
I get so damned angry sometimes that I could spit railroad
ties. I really don't care if someone wants to stick their head in the
sand and be a social conservative. If they don't believe in abortion
that's fine. Don't have one. If they don't believe in all people
being due to a certain dignity and repect for the simple fact that
they are, that's fine, too. But, damn it, stop trying to shove your
beliefs down my throat. I am sick and tired of it. I don't NEED you
to tell me what to do nor do I WANT you to tell me what to do.
Here's but one more example in this never-ending battle to just live
one's life in peace. I now live here in the beautiful Pacific
Northwest. Just like any other area of the country, we have the
"always-faithful" religious door bangers, specifically the Jehovah's
Witnesses and the Mormons.
First thing: The complex I reside at does not allow this type of
soliciting.
Second thing: I have a "No Soliciting" sign on my door which is at
eye level and very easy to see and read. It's written in plain
English, not Swahili or Farsi.
The other night there was a knock on my door. I thought it was a
neighbor and anwered the door. There were two "Mormon missionaries"
dressed in their nice matching black attire replete with crisp white
shirts and black ties. I didn't give them a chance. I pointed to the
sign and screamed "See this sign? It says "No Soliciting" and that
means you." After blowing my stack I stormed inside and heard them
muttering at my back.
The next day I found the number of the local LDS Missionary Office,
called and read them the riot act. When I mentioned the words "No
Soliciting" the lady tried to interject "Well that wasn't soliciting
because they weren't selling anything." I angrily exclaimed
"Bullcrap. That is soliciting. You make sure all of your missionaries
get the message NOT TO KNOCK ON MY DOOR ANYMORE. If they do, they will
be reported to the Police."
She tried to interject that the teams change every six months so she
couldn't guarantee that in six months it wouldn't happen again.
"That's NOT my problem. Consider yourself told. If any of them knock
on my door again, they, too, will be reported."
For god's sake, what do we need to do to keep people from trying to
shove their beliefs -- whether it is political or religious -- down
our throats even in the sanctity of our own homes?
I'm beginning to believe that all social conservatives should be banished to Devil's Island -- as made famous in "Papillion." I'm sick and tired of these people.

Subject: The Second Amendment and Washington DC
Hi BuzzFlash,
The Supreme Court (and the NRA) have told citizens that they are able
to take guns WHEREVER they go in Washington, DC, to protect
themselves.
The NRA is determined to undermine the laws on the books across the
country to protect people for unforetold violence.
Now, I don't own any guns.
However, with that ruling, does this mean I can walk right into The
White House, Congress or The Supreme Court, "packed with heat," and
they can't do a damn thing about it??
I'm curious how The Supreme Court would vote this time, if I was
disallowed from entering any of the three buildings with a loaded
handgun.
After all, you never know what type of "nut jobs" you may run into
within those buildings - especially with people with Bush's IQ
running around.

Subject: Where Are We Headed To???
America, where are we headed to???? If we keep going the road
we are on, we are going to end up as bad as Zimbabwe is right now.
It's obvious to me that our President doesn't care at all about
the State this Nation is in, nor does he care about the Citizens of
this country! We have been neglected and abandoned by our Elected
Leaders, who only care about filling their pockets with money from
Big Oil, and Big Corporations. America, we are headed for financial
ruin, and none of the people we put in office, care to stop this
catastrophe.
Each one of us has to get up from our armchairs,
and actually do something, to help save America! It's up to us now!

Subject: Flip Flopping
I am no fan of John McCain and will not vote for him under any
circumstances. I do believe, however, that BuzzFlash would do well to
stop talking about McCain's flip flopping unless it plans to take up
Obama's turn to the right. As a supporter of Obama in the primaries,
I feel downright betrayed by his espousal of the FISA bill, his craven
pandering to AIPAC, his support of the death penalty for child rape,
to name only a few. I feel betrayed by someone who promised change.
It seems to me like business as usual. If he continues, I will have
to sit out the 2008 presidential election.

Subject: The Lady Doth Protest To Much, Methinks
Buzz,
I have been listening to Antonin Scalia go on about Bush vs. Gore for
a long time. The most recent statement by Scalia is that all the
blame for election 2000, the entire debacle, the chaos that ensued,
is the fault solely of Al Gore. To show how long Scalia has been
WHINING, the length to which Mr. Scalia has been on an enduring, but
intermittent diatribe, I enclose the following:

My documentation (however meager) has Scalia repeating his one
dimensional mantra since July 2005 (up to the present).
I believe that his conscience DOES NOT bother him. Rather, I
suspect that he is concerned that the political pendulum is swinging.
My belief is simple: the man has no integrity and it is fear that
perpetuates his meaningless monologue.

Subject: Police Arrogance
What is wrong with police today?? They have developed an
arrogant attitude, and seem to believe that they are better then
anyone else, and can do anything to anyone. Police today have
forgotten to be human, and treat other people with respect. I have
seen videos of police harassing and hurting innocent citizens. If you
don't produce a drivers license or ID fast enough, you will get
Tased. They don't like being filmed, so if they spot someone with a
camera or video equiptment, they are quick to Tase you.
Kids ... be careful where you skateboard. If the police don't like it, they will
throw you to the ground, quicker then a Cowboy at a Sterr Wrestling
Competition, at the Rodeo. If you dare stand up for your INALIENABLE
RIGHTS, as an American, they will quickly show you this isn't a Free
Country any longer. Police today, have NO problems with beating up on
Pregnant Women, Children, Elderly People, or Disabled People.
Police today, are Glorified Uniformed Gang Thugs, who will push and
shove anyone in their way.
If you don't think so, just remember what happened in Los Angeles in May of 2007. Just remember the kids pushed to the ground, for riding a skateboard. Just remember the school girl pushed to the ground, and called Racial slurs, from not cleaning up cake crumbs, the way the officer wanted her to. Are there ANY DECENT Police out there any more????

[BuzzFlash Note: Yes, we know plenty of good cops - but the bad ones need to be drummed out. One of Obama's achievements in Illinois was a law mandating that police interrogations of murder suspects be videotaped. ]
Subject: Gun Control
I hope that the recent Supreme Court decision will convince you
to lay off this gun control garbage and quit embarrassing yourselves.
Even rabid right-wingers are correct occasionally. DC v. Heller was a
correct decision. The Second Amendment does give individuals a right
to keep and bear arms. The fact that "militias" as the Founders
understood them no longer exist does not obviate the right of
individuals to own guns. The entire Bill of Rights defends the rights
of INDIVIDUALS, not government organized groups. Why should the Second
Amendment be any different?
Claiming that the Second Amendment no longer applies is like saying
there is no longer a right to freedom of the press because we no
longer use 18th century wooden screw printing presses.
Also, you probably don't realize it yet, but the Heller decision was
a HUGE election year gift to the Democrats. Had the decision gone the
other way, pro-gun conservatives would have come out in droves to hold
their noses and vote for John McCain. By ruling that the Second
Amendment grants individuals the right to keep and bear arms, the
Republicans have one less issue to rally their base with.
It's about time you started acting like true progressives by fighting
the real causes of crime--like the racist "war" on drugs, poverty, and
the outsourcing of good jobs with living wages. Fighting crime by
banning handguns will be as effective as the Eighteenth Amendment was
against alcoholism.
Grow up.

Subject: Anthrax Dead End
Almost seven years later and no credible suspect is publicly identified as the perp for the anthrax attacks of 2001. Cui Bono? Who benefited from the attacks? Who benefits from the failed investigation? Meanwhile we can round up hundreds of innocents -- since released -- and torture them indefinitely at Guantanamo. The "war" on terror IS terror. Except sometimes when it's incompetence.
