For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.

Fred of Marietta, Georgia, nominated Neil Boortz as the BuzzFlash Media Putz of the Week because "He lies when it doesn't even matter! Thinks he's being cool with his racist innuendoes. Couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it!"

In short, the "libertarian" pundit put the boor -- "a churlish, rude, or unmannerly person" -- into Boortz. Neil supports some liberal issues as an alleged libertarian, but most of his audience are right-wingers to the max. So the libertarian side of him is pretty much submerged in his pro-Iraq war, flat tax, anti-Islam, anti-homeless people sentiments.

Media Matters cited Boortz for one of the most outrageous on-air comments of 2006 when he said of former Rep. Cynthia McKinney's (D-GA) hairstyle: "She looks like a ghetto slut. ... It looks like an explosion in a Brillo pad factory. ... She looks like Tina Turner peeing on an electric fence. ... She looks like a shih tzu!"

Did you know that companies pay to advertise on shows such as Boortz's? It boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Media Matters also took note of one of Boortz's many grossly offensive statements in 2007:

During his June 21 show, Boortz offered a suggestion he said he got from a listener's email: "When we defeat this illegal alien amnesty bill, and when we yank out the welcome mat, and they all start going back to Mexico, as a going away gift let's all give them a box of nuclear waste." Boortz continued: "Give 'em all a little nuclear waste and let 'em take it on down there to Mexico. Tell 'em it can -- it'll heat tortillas."

This is the "civilized" society that the "conservative" talk show hosts offer up to us? Apparently so.

Boortz, Coulter, Limbaugh and the rest are shock jocks, drawing in huge paychecks, by expressing thoughts on the air that are outside the pale of acceptable discourse, except they get away with it. That's a painful commentary on the state of American media, and the corporate world that makes these people "marketable brands" by funding their programs and giving them a platform.

Many illegal Mexican immigrants work two or three jobs at below minimum wage to send money back to their families in Mexico. They have integrity and dignity and the ultimate in family values.

Neil Boortz doesn't have any of these values that the conservatives supposedly cherish, just has a microphone and a political potty mouth -- and that makes him the BuzzFlash Media Putz of the Week.

Boortz, the eternal wantabe is trying to capture attention like a 3rd rate bad-guy on a Memphis cable wrastlin’ federation. He suffers from interminable "small-genitalia" mindset as he is on limited syndication on the parsimonious Cox Radio. Such mental giants as Sean “I did finish high school” Hanny-Pie and the drug-addicted, racist chicken hawk Limbaugh have passed him on the right wing, pond-scum food chain. See Boortz feels his intellectual credentials are far superior to these mental midgets and he should be the national spokesman for all that is cruel, divisive and wrong.


Early in his career, Boortz was actually mildly entertaining and semi-factual. He showed some limited integrity and did not come across as the attention-craving lunatic, creating division and he was happy as the number one talk radio show in Atlanta. He could name drop as Evander Holyfield’s legal advisor and he still practiced as a real estate lawyer. Basically, he was "almost" a normal guy. His competition in Atlanta talk radio was a newcomer Sean Hannity, a pre-pubescent sounding, hate monger from Alabama. Bootz, a Texas A&M Aggie and John Marshall Law School graduate (his school credentials foreshadowed his later academic “small-manitis”) was destroying Hannity in the ratings. Nevertheless, Hanny-pie had something Boortz did not; Sean-boy was easy on the eyes while Boortz has a face/body perfect for the radio. Despite a simpleton intellect and miniscule ratings, Hanny-pie got the call to join the new Fox-TV network. Boortz was crushed.


By this time, Jabba Limbaugh proved it wasn’t just good looks that got you on TV but a Neanderthal, divisive, angry white man philosophy. Boortz got his television break with a few spots on CNN’s live audience participation talk show and failed miserably. Currently his illustrious television career now consists of handpicking 2nd tier talk shows where he can’t get his @ss handed to him by the opposing views ala Randi Rhodes. http://mediamatters.org/items/200708150002


Therefore, the Neal Boortz you see today is a bitter wantabe after failing to climb the IQ siphoning, hate mongering, right wing food chain. With neither the academic credentials to stand tall in Texas nor be an attorney in real life nor the talent or looks to make it on television now Neil markets himself as the outrageous Libertarian. His schtick includes humiliating a disabled nine-year-old boy’s speech patterns on his show, announcing ADD and ADHD are "medical frauds" and a scam that teachers, parents, and drug companies use to drug children or calling New Orleans “a city of parasites, a city of people who could not and had no desire to fend for themselves." Boortz realizes the only way he will get any national news or any attention whatsoever is to continue these spineless wanton yelps. Old Neil is a 3rd rate talent on a dying medium passed over by people with less talent than him. He sold his soul to Satan to get on TV and the evil one tricked him to mean C-Span. Yes Neil might have to try the Dr. Laura marketing method and have some nude pictures of your college days as an aggie show up on Hustler. Then again…please NO!

HelenBack @1:13PM Boortz never finished or graduated from college! He either quit,was asked to leave, or flunked out as a Junior, 1n 1967! He graduated from a 4 year night school for attorney wantabe's! Boortz is limited to practicing law in Georgia, but not before the Georgia Supreme Court. The night school he graduated from was known as a Diploma Mill since it's founding in'33 and wasn't even recognized by the ABA until 2005.In 2005 it was given a 5 year "Provisional Accreditation" recently by the ABA. Boortz was a closing lawyer for real estate deals! No real brain power needed there! Booortz is pronounced just like the sound of gas escaping from one's arse!
