How do you think Barack Obama's world tour went?

Really do you think it could have gone any better? I don't think so and maybe that could be a problem. For some reason certain people tend to eye with suspicion someone as polished as Obama. In my country we call it the 'tall poppy syndrome' Appearing to elevate oneself above ones peers. There appears to be no more an appealing social sport to some than the sport of chopping down the tall poppy. Americans should be so proud of the way Obama conducted and presented himself on the international stage. I hope that people will see through the childish sniping of John McSame over the last few days, and throw their support behind the candidate who gives America back her respectability. Who speaks to the world and tells all of us non Americans that we do matter, and we can once again be a welcome friend of the United States. Not just with you or against you.

Who cares about Obamas vacation to Europe? Their are infact 5 presidential candidates running. Why dosent Buzz Flash cover any of the others? If Buzz Flash is so progressive why dont they focus on the candidates deads instead of what hes saying. They could point out that Obama voted in favor of the telecomunications industry getting immunity for spying on Americans. Why dont they point out that he wants to expand on the military budjet that is already sucking out half of the tax revinues. How about his unwillingness to stand up to the health insurance industry and indorse a one payer system that provides so much better care for its people in so many other countries? I think Obama is a sellout and I dont care about his trip to Europe where he didnt even have time visit the soldiers in Langstuhl. I used to like this site but they have since simply lined up behind the Democrat candidate and acted as a chearleader. Im voting for Nader if you measure him by his actions he is second to none.

I'd say it went pretty well. McStain goaded him to go to Iraq and Afghanistan and when he got there the Iraqi government endorsed his exit plan. And the generals in Afghanistan agree with his plan there as well. Seeing McStain whine about "his" surge and talk about the now mythical Col. McFarlane is hilarious.

As mentioned previously, John McCain goaded senator Obama to vist Iraq & Afghanistan, and now it appears that the McCain camp feels that the attention Barack Obama received from both the foreign and domestic press was a bit over the top. In what way was Obama supposed to control the interest the news media showed to his travels abroad? Let's be real here ... nobody in the McCain campaign would complain had things been the other way around. If any part of the goal for Obama was to give the world a glimpse at what's possible he certainly hit a home run, he projected poise and eloquence meeting with foreign leaders, if perceptions really do matter he definitely created the perception that he is presidential. Why would anyone have expected for Barack to give a scintillating speech in Germany?, his whole intent was to be seen in key situations, make a good impression and reach out like any good neighbor introducing himself. Look for the democratic party convention next month for THE speech from Obama, peaking overseas would have made anything else too hard to follow. My grade is an A !

Comments from German newspaper "He not only wants to be the 44th president but wants to be president of the world!" Maybe he should just move his campaign out of the corrupt city of Chicago, which he helped establish, and go to Germany. The campaign sent out notices and advertised his campaign. A lot of the attendees didn't think his speech was that good. Maybe it is only in America where he has his followers that everyone goes goo-goo on his every word and action. Germany knows what it is like to have a leader that the citizens followed without question. The United Kingdom's papers weren't that excited about Obama either. Looks like the media and the followers of Obama will select the next president and it doesn't look good for America. Two losers running for the highest office and Obama is the worst of the two.

In 2000 the Supreme Court and millions of voters (even if not a majority) thought it was OK for GWB to become president even though he had thought the Taliban were a (music) band and didn't know who the president of Pakistan was.

So this year McCain says "Hey, this guy doesn't know his way around the world" (never mind spending months with family in Kenya) so Obama went abroad and the media that didn't get onto the plane sat home waiting, in vain, for Obama to stumble and make a fool of himself. They were watching the wrong candidate.

The fact the Old Hack McAmnesiac and the McNumbnesses have gone ballistic in their whining, is evidence of how successful the "tour" has been. Further evidence of its success is how the MSM is 'authenticating' the whining of the Even Less Than Mediocre McCain. He, having been their "fair haired boy" for decades during which time his major moral and intellectual f***ups, violent temper tantrums throughout his entire life including foul and abusive language directed to "colleagues' on the Senate floor have been have been white washed, glossed over, or characterized as the "quirks" of McCain being McCain, to not "defend" the whining would be indicative of the fake persona of McCain the Maverick the creation of which they are responsible. McCain is less qualified for high office than than the ignominiously stupid Dan Quayle. Quayle was stupid - McCain is criminally insane AND stupid. The fact that Obama and McCain are the the peoples' choices from whom to select for the highest office in the land is testament to the pervasive vacuity of acumen of so many millions of Americans.

On the one hand: He looked presidential, he spoke well, he was well received by foreign leaders around the world, his speeches were clever and well thought out, he addressed global issues, he didn't make any major gaffes, he seemed sincere and concerned about world issues and events, he stated clear knowledge of many topics and introduced a fine head-on approach to discussing sore points, he appeared honest and affable, world leaders praised his attitude, he represented America well as opposed to the current president, he stood tall and proud. ============= On the other hand, you know, he is half-black... so let's all go out and vote for the old white fuck who changes his stance on every issue to suck up right wing votes AND couldn't tell Shiite from Shinola, because after all, he is WHITE... and was CAPTURED... and married into a lot of money... Obama's visit overseas made me feel proud to be an American again. A feeling I haven't strongly had since shortly after the attacks on our homeland on 9/11/01. It was good to see people from abroad waving the American flag again instead of burning it. http://politicalplace.com
