Bush’s State of the Moron Address: He is Killing Us Softly With His Wrong, Killing Us Softly.

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

With all due respect to Roberta Flack (who popularized the song "Killing Me Softly With His Song, Killing Me Softly"), the mainstream press is still caught up in a fictional narrative of an earnest cowpoke decisively leading America.

But journalists, who are supposed to get to the bottom of the truth, have spent years ice skating on the surface of the superficiality of fictions pedaled by Republicans. They have become Disneyised. They are reporters wandering down the make-believe Main Street inhabited by Mickey, Minnie and Goofie in a fantasy theme park in Orlando.

Only, in this case, the fake main street is fabricated in the White House and recreated in countless presidential PR events that propagate an artificial reality that the corporate press reports as fact.

Never mind the latest White House gambit of making the media believe that Bush alone has provided a next step to "resolving" the deadly chaos that he has created. That is not even remotely true, particularly considering the exhaustive alternatives that the Iraq Study Group -- basically convened by his father -- provided. And no one has ever accused James "Carlyle Group" Baker of being a squishy peacenik.

Countless others, including George McGovern, have offered detailed alternatives to the Bush "Escalate the Course" strategy of failure. But they are all pathologically ignored by a sociopathic president and his Rasputin vice-president. These are two demented men who value proving that they are "right" over all common sense and decency.

Bush never had to utter a word on Tuesday night, January 23, to reveal the State of the Union. The fact that he is still president, still given credibility by the corporate media, still speaking on behalf of this great nation, said everything that needed to be said about the State of the Union.

But something has changed since a Democratic Congress was sworn in. Maybe they aren’t going as far as many of us would like in bringing the troops home, but they have, in lacerating words, finally made the Iraq War a debate between sanity and accountability on the one hand -- and mismanaged, failed sociopathology on the other.

They aren’t avoiding discussing the Iraq issue anymore. They are putting it squarely on the table of public policy and holding Bush fully responsible.

And on Tuesday night, their critique of Bush’s abysmal, demented performance as President rose to new heights as U.S. Senator Jim Webb, the Virginia senator who has a son serving in Iraq, declared: ""The president took us into this war recklessly. We are now, as a nation, held hostage to the predictable -- and predicted -- disarray that has followed."

Webb pulled no punches as he called for "an immediate shift toward strong regionally based diplomacy, a policy that takes our soldiers off the streets of Iraq's cities and a formula that will in short order allow our combat forces to leave Iraq."

Throughout the privileged, elitist affirmative action life of George W. Bush, he has had a history of making big messes -- and then having Daddy’s friends come in and clean them up for Junior.

This time, Junior summarily dismissed Daddy’s help in the form of the Iraq Study Group, which was so tame and conservative in its recommendations it even included a strategy for ensuring the Iraqi oil concessions for American and British companies.

But Junior would have none of it. This time, he was determined to go for broke with other people’s lives and other people’s money.

This is it in a nutshell: He is still killing us softly with his wrong, killing us softly.

DOES BUSH/CHENEY MAKE YOU SAFE

WE HAVE BEEN ATTACKED SINCE 9/11

Almost everyday I hear some NeoCon or a supporter of the Bush madness say something like, “We have not been attacked since 9/11 and that shows that Bush is doing a good job.” I have to take deep breaths and say calming things under my breath in order not to throw something. We have been attacked again and again but not by al Qaeda.

We have been attacked by our own government in every way you can imagine, in our homes---in our churches---in our privacy---in our souls. The Bush administration has tortured, murdered and caused the rest of the world to wonder what terrible mental disease has struck the United States of America. This new illness should be called “Mental Syphilis.” The Bill of Rights is now just a piece of paper, and Bush likes to make paper planes out of a copy of the Constitution. Wars and more wars!

There are now so many spy agencies that they spy on themselves for weeks before they know that they are spying on spies. We have the FBI, NAS, IRS, HOMELAND NUTS, DOD, NIS, MILITARY INTEL, CIA, CID, and these are off the top of my head---there are lots more. We are a country under siege but not from al Qaeda.

Have you wondered why al Qaeda has not committed another attack on our cities? The first question you should ask yourself is, can they?

Our borders are wide open, according to Lou Dobbs and others, people are coming across at unprecedented rates. Al Qaeda is aware of this route and what about just coming in as a tourist or a student----easy. You do know that when you fly your baggage is searched but everything else in the storage part of the plane is not searched or screened---al Qaeda knows this by now. So why haven’t they attacked us?

The first attack on the towers in New York took place in 1993, the next attack came in 2001, eight years later. This is not a group who is interested in taking out a bus or train in the US, they want something bigger than 9/11---and that should scare the hell out of all of us. That is why the 9/11 Commission recommended so many changes in the way we do things; Bush said no---not needed. The Democratic Congress is moving as fast as they can to implement all of the Commission recommendations, and that is a good first step. This is five years after 9/11---Are we safer?

So, all you people who think that BushCo is making your life safer---think again. Unless we find some way of understanding what is happening in the world, we will suffer attacks by people who feel that we treat them with contempt. Bush and many of our State Dept. people as late as last year could not tell you the difference between Shiites and Sunni. We are being led by the worst kind of loons---dumb loons.

Just imagine a President who stands before the American people and the rest of the world and says, “We went into Iraq because we thought they were going to attack us---we were wrong. We went into Iraq because the people of Iraq wanted to have a chance at democracy, we were wrong. We went into Iraq with the intentions of solving the Middle East problems, naive and wrong. We tried but failed to free Iraq we now ask the world to help us put Iraq back together. As an act of good faith, we will stop all construction on permanent bases, embassies, or any other plan that even looks like we want to stay. We will and have cancelled all deals made by Mr. Brenner or any representatives of the United States. We will, after our troops are withdrawn in the next few months, make war reparations to the government of Iraq. The government of Iraq should be what the people want and not what outsiders demand. We will work with all those countries who want to see a strong and independent Iraq. This is only the first part of a series of events that will happen in the near future. Gitmo will be closed and all prisoners be given a fair trial or released as soon as possible, the International Red Cross will be given this task and our military who control all camps will be removed and replaced with human rights agencies. We will call for a regional summit to resolve problems about borders and other grievances outstanding to this day.””

Now can you, in your most optimistic moment, imagine Bush or Cheney saying anything close to this?

Bush’s answer to any problem is to kill it, maybe that is why we had a bug man in charge of the House before 2006. Bush and Cheney should go the way of the bug man---go away and be tried for their crimes.

In peace and hope,

Investigation--Impeachment--Indictment--Incarceration

Either: Cut Off Funding, or Impeach

Democrats are terrified that they'll be tarred with appeasement/peacenik labels if they restrict funding the war to that necessary to bring the troops home. History shows that this is a risky political move (esp. McGovern in 1972) which stained Democrats as "appeasers" for a generation.

History also shows that impeachment pays politically--Dems won overwhelmingly in the elections after Watergate, and Republicans won after trying to impeach Clinton.

So, maybe Dems should just go ahead and investigate to impeach, and pass continuing resolutions on the war funding.

Personally, I would prefer that they cut off funding, but I do have to admit that funding cuts or restrictions are politically hazardous. Dems need to be at least as clear as Senator Webb on the war, if they are going to do it.

Both: Cut Off Funding & Impeach

That's because the two are inextricably linked, such that we can't have the one, we can't have the one, we can't have the one without the other.

King Gorge the third-the second

Don't give up the fight.
Our new King George the Third-Second must be removed from his throne in order to remove him from power and end his penchant to make absurd speeches that merely make it clear that he is incompetent and a grave danger and threat to our Democracy. Impeachment is the only certain way of doing this. Once he is out of power we can then make it clear to VP Chaney that he is next to go if he doesn't follow the wishes of the people. He may be unwilling to risk impeachment. If not then he would be the next to stand trial in the Senate.

Why Do We Waste Time On What He Says?

We should be doing whatever it takes to make Congress cut off all funding for the Iraq war and then to impeach him. Except we may never get around to doing such if we keep letting ourselves be distracted by what he & his cronies say or don't say. Somehow we got to break this habit, being that once we stop concerning ourselves with them & turn our attention entirely to what's good for us and just how we might get there, WOW!

Flack Jacket

Where's mine? Oh, here: Congress, cut the Bushists off at the bills (fiduciary and statutory), them IMPEACH them for the good of US all!

The Folks in Iraq Are NOT Being Killed SOFTLY!

I can hire a guy to lie to me; I don't need a "State of the Union" address. The nice thing about hiring a guy is that you can fire the guy when you get tired of his repetitive lies.

With the current corrupt president, we are stuck with him until January 2009, or until we are able to impeach him. By listening to lies upon lies, we’ve helped Iraq to trade a brutal dictator for an unceasing bloody civil war and unbridled anarchy.

Meanwhile, hundreds of American troops die and are maimed, and uncounted numbers of non-combatant Iraqis die and are maimed at American hands.

The folks (Democrats and Republicans) who voted for the invasion of Iraq should be placed on trial for crimes against humanity.

State of Denial Speech

As I watched bush walk into Congress being greeted cordially by all those in view I had to wonder why not one of the so-called representatives of the people wouldn't at least turn their backs on this pretender, or make a public show of just walking out.

Next I wondered if any of the so-called representatives were aware of the evidence that is so easily available on sights like Belowgroundsurface.org, 9/11Thruth.org, Scholarsfor9/11 truth.org and more that raise serious questions about what really happened on September 11, 2001. Did any one of them now know what many are convinced was a deliberate attack against this country, not by so-called terrorists, but elements within our own government?

I've been wondering since 9/11/01 how so many people could have watched WTCB#7, a 100% heavily fortified steel building, which wasn't hit by a plane and had minimal damage, simply fall into it's own foot-print at free-fall speed and not ask how this was possible? Why hasn't anyone in the MSM asked? Why didn't the 9/11 Commission ask? And this is just one of the hundreds of questions not answered from that day.

We've been had folks. this whole government is a fraud as long as we allow this murderer-in-chief and all those that still live in a state of denial about the events of 9/11 to simply except the MSM's spin and the so-called "official" version of these events.

We deserve it...

I was listening to C-SPAN this morning. Judging by utterings of some callers, we certainly deserve the moron we allowed to be placed in the White House. I am dismayed and terrified by the level of general stupidity in this country. The people who called, cannot even express themselves without "y'know" every other word, and without going in circles without ever clarifying their point.

bush is exactly the same: he spews nonsense all the time. One needs an interpreter to figure out what the imbecile is talking about.

Thusly, bush will be ruling the roost for another 2 years, because he is tolerated by the ocean of fools just like him. And our "elected leaders" are too afraid to lose popularity to even contradict him, let alone take decisive action against him.

bush keeps acting up like a grade school bully. When world has enough of his crap, they will gang up on us and whip our sorry butts. Maybe the staunch supporters of bush will understand then, that they worshiped the wrong idol.

Media Enablers

All the media have to do is re-focus on the facts and stop whoring themselves to Bush/Cheney for their fake-reality imaging. But the media whores are in it for themselves, and are killing us just as softly.

My nightmare

I had a dream the other night. Boy, was it scary. I dreamed that our 2000 "election" had been stolen by a callow ignoramus, aided by a cadre of thugs, stooges, and cretins impersonating Supreme Court justices, a governor, and an election offical. As if that weren't bad enough, I dreamed that we were bamboozled into a phony war, based on dirty lies ,had habeas corpus suspended, condoned torture, snooping on our citizens, trashing of hard-won enviornmental laws, and lied to about the true nature of the crime of the century. Jeez, I'm glad it was just a dream!
