Can We Put an End to the Countless Plagues of Bushevism?

The latest from BuzzFlash that follows its earlier "CHAOS" is that we've just taken over the House of Representatives with further gains anticipated. If that's so it's kind of amazing because it means that democracy has just come through with flying colors, after what up to now has been somewhat of a mixed bag, super for those at the very top, great for the next ten percent or so and then, as far as the real world goes, less and less for more and more. The above good news (if it holds up) means nothing less than that this fascist takeover has just been aborted and that our changing the world's going to be even easier now, because the more people involved the less each person need do. Great timing too, what with this perpetual war on terror, not to mention global warming. Even better, we now have a clear shot at changing the world. Had they won there'd be no world.

I'm not optomistic about the mid-term election. I think the fix is in as it was in 2000, 2002, and 2004. The rethugs will"win" in a miraculous eleventh hour surge, the demos will play possom, and the ones getting screwed over will grumble a little, then get back to their mind-numbing TV shows,beer, and Twinkies. They're too afraid of losing their miserable jobs if they go on strike,or attend rallies in public, not for a minute realizing their employers NEED them and would go under without their services. The camps will be open for business to receive anyone our Dear Leader imagines to be a danger to himself, wille another staged event rivaling, or even surpassing 9/11, will occur with the ensuing martial law and the crowning of georgiepoo "despot for life". Sound far fetched? Maybe it is, but it's happened before, and can well happen here. Just because we're Americans it doesn't mean we're immune to a dictatorial takeover. Hell, we're halfway there, already.

" What, me worry - give a damn american attitude " regarding the Sudan, the environment, the trampling of our constitution, 9 Trillion More Dollars of Debt for our children to PAY, Trillions Of Dollars Owed To the Chinese, Japanese, the Arab World which projects our entire economy into a probable eventual free fall....; 3000 deaths of young american soldiers, 20,000 brain damaged young american paraplegic-amputees coming home to medical neglect, cold stares and our absurd public jubilation regarding war criminals getting the USofA version of frontier justice befitting a 'Hanging' Judge Parker or Judge Roy Bean retribution...absurd because we have twice elected a moronic elitist war criminal in our own country while trumpeting him and his cretinously fecal cronies as our prime examples of "American Family Values", " Truth,Justice and The American Way...... and..... besides,we're too busy committing our own;...................... genocide,atrocities,torture/death of 700,000 innocent Iraqis for the sake of oil, greed, and the sexual depravity of self-loathing closet-gay homophobic Nazis currently running our country.
Bless those with forgiveness for those who paint Islamic devotees' as evil bastards who are all " Onward Allah soldiers marching as to war with the cross of Mohammed ...." and God Bless the cowardly bullies who all hid out in their ' spider-holes ' when it was their time to serve in Viet Nam for now protecting the virtuous american sheeple from any other "attacks on Amerca's Home Land/ Father Land ". The truth, of course , is the credit should go mostly to those wonderful followers of Islam who worship in the temples of their faith in every american community and who are , no doubt, vigilently policing their own for those who would do us harm. Besides these same Muslims are also very busy living the ' American Dream ' with income derived from their medical practices, their motels, their cab companies, their real estate ventures, etc.

but the GOP MUST NOT BE REWARDED for their disregard of our national security, for keeping our borders wide open to aliens and terrorists, for seeking to combine our nation with Mexico and Canada, for killing our men in Iraq and taking the side of the enemy in condemning our men to death after contriving the evidence...

Will the Dems be better? They've shown no pro-American national leadership but hey... they aren't the GOP so they get my vote in every office.

But make no mistake- the Democrat leadership is rotten to the very core. The list of their failings would be easily as long as that of the rotten GOP.

Here's a scenario - if the Dems can beat the E-voting and other election fraud and should happen to gain control of Congress and/or Senate - bush will panic. There is NO WAY after a lifetime of getting away with never having to be held accountable that these rat-bastards are going to start now. One of our ships is attacked and sunk off the Iran coast in a classic "false flag" Black-operation - bush bombs Iran before the transition - total chaos ensues after gas spirals to $6 gal. or more, the whole world (outside of Israel of course) turns against us (as if they aren't already) finally people realise they've been "punked" and start to riot - bush uses the dictatorial powers he was lamely given by this treasonous legislature and the 800 detention camps Halliburton has built crank-up and we continued on the insane march towards Armageddon.

Or - the Repukes win/steal another one and the above happens with gusto.

How's that for hope?

The Democrats aren't Almighty Bruce. If they win, Homeland Security won't be out in the streets showering us with candy and flowers.

There needs to be accountability from those who have shredding several articles of our consititution over the course of this administration. Whether it is trials for treason or a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, I don't particularly care. But this needs to be an engaging national debate. And then several _years_ of work in Congress would probably be necessary to repeal and undo the damage to our foundation six years of Bush have caused this nation.

How likely is that to happen:

1) Hillary of the DLC says she's down with torture as long as it's for a good cause.

2) Plenty of Democrats say we can't just pack up and leave Iraq without a resolution positive for the U.S. Sure sounds like LBJ in 1968 to me.

3) The DLC has obviously polled Americans countlessly and we all know Americans love "law and order". Except for a few men of conscience like Conyers I don't see much interest in defending the constitution. Hillary has been more interested in co-sponsoring flag burning amendments.

4) The "they're just politicians too" argument. If Democrats actually _cared_ that Iraq and torture are war crimes, they wouldn't be compromising with the Republicans. Sometimes you _do_ have to take a moral stand and "Just say no", to borrow a phrase. How often has that happened?

5) It isn't as easy as impeachment. It is one thing to say Bush overstepped his executive authority with signing statements and lying us into Iraq. But the Republicans in congress gave him the Military Commissions Act. Do we try them for treason against the constitution too?

If the elections are fair enough and the turnout is large enough, it is predicted that we will win the House but it is unlikely we will win the Senate. But we need the Senate. The House could vote for impeachment. But what would be the resolution in the Senate?

No, it has to be a landslide win and _then_ it has to be follow-up with a vengeance to undo the damage of this administration. And I don't see the will. Bush may lose some battles but he may have won the war by crippling our democratic republic and initiating our fall into empire. And miring us into a new WW III over oil in the middle east. Do the Democrats and the American people have the will to undo this avalanche? Or has Bush unleashed forces of culture and society that we don't even know _how_ to undo?

Vote. But keep in mind that it is one tiny step on a long walk back to sanity and decency for our country.

The right wing Republicons have been taking over the hill and in the process have been taking away the rights of the people. The Evangelicals want your SOUL! They are EVIL! WE NEED EVERY VOTE!

Huge democratic turnout will trump the unethical GOP dirty tricks.

Like a football team that has lost everygame for six years and the coach remains. So the GOP finally has to answer to the fans.

I'm betting that the Republicans narrowly hold control over the House and Senate as disheartening as this sounds. Only with a landslide of abnormal voting is it possible for the Dems to pull off a win. Sadly I think we have two years of grumbling and lawsuits to look forward to.

I have never wanted to be more wrong about anything in my life.

Hell by 2008, even Hillary will look good!
