BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

Well, now, don’tcha kinda sorta think “the scope” of the Senate Intelligence Committee report should include a review of the "less formal communications between intelligence agencies and other parts of the Executive Branch," given that this administration’s White House Iraq Group’s “marketing campaign” resulted in an illegal, preemptive, unnecessary war that has thus far cost the lives of over 4000 American soldiers and an estimated 1,000,000 Iraqi citizens, given the fact that the death and destruction continues?

* * *

Those who would believe anything George Bush and his gang have to say, do so at our peril!!! History has proven there were lies, innuendo, and a vigorous “marketing campaign” to deliberately sell an illegal preemptive unnecessary war in Iraq! “… the Iraq Group ‘had been set up in the summer of 2002 to coordinate the marketing of the war to the public.’ ‘The script had been finalized with great care over the summer,’ McClellan wrote, for a ‘campaign to convince Americans that war with Iraq was inevitable and necessary …’. History proves that “fool me once, I can’t be fooled again” would be the safest road for all Americans to follow, whenever and wherever anyone connected to George Bush and this administration opens their mouths and offers up anything whatsoever!

“A long way from Iraq and the war debate in Washington, Herman Moore sat outside a tent in a downtown New Orleans homeless camp, trying to make sense of a proposal that helps Iraqi war refugees but will likely exclude Hurricane Katrina victims.” My grandmother always said, “Charity begins at home,” obviously a moral conviction that George Bush does not believe in or adhere to! It is incomprehensible and reprehensible that the need for aid and comfort is ignored here at home while our taxes are paying for an illegal, preemptive, unnecessary war in a land far away!

Some Americans have not yet come to recognize the fact that John McCain isn’t capable of critical thinking and intelligent analysis. McCain is George Bush all over again in every aspect! “Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), McCain’s chief surrogate and attack dog ... stated unequivocally that McCain’s tax and health care policies were not only an extension of Bush’s polices but also an ‘enhancement.’” Whoops, wires crossed again, McCain just can’t seem to get it “straight"; first he’s for George Bush’s policies, then he’s not, then those closest to him say he is, will they ever get their campaign propaganda and their flip-flopping rhetoric together? Not only in Iraq, but also here at home, McCain is just a Bush third term if elected! Don’t fall for another 4 years of Bush’s domestic chaos and confusion, and the death and destruction of Bush’s eternal war!

“… former White House press secretary Scott McClellan claims that Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, 'and possibly Vice President Cheney' encouraged him to 'repeat a lie' to the American people about the administration’s role in the leaking of Valerie Plame’s identity. This assertion, along with others, has led members of Congress, like House Oversight Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA), to again ask questions about the CIA leak scandal.”Scandal or criminal act??? What’s that old cliché that Regressive Repuglicans have so oft repeated??? Remember the one, “if you’ve done the crime, then you should do the time”! How appropriate in this particular case; it would show the world that indeed the United States is a country of laws, and that no man (or woman) is above the law, no matter whom! There should be a full investigation and the guilty parties should and must go to jail. The “Plame Affair” was after all a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY! Exposing an undercover agent not only jeopardizes their lives and the lives of other agents; it also jeopardizes our national security, and thus exposure becomes an act of treason and should be dealt with as such, no matter who commits the crime!!!

There are some negative attack ads that are better left in the buried file forever! While there are those who pursue “sensationalism” and try to justify their psychological negativity with the cloak of stimulating “debate” -- “‘Willie Horton’ ad creator takes on Obama … Floyd G. Brown … and GOP strategists say such ads stimulate a debate on crime and punishment and may provide a window into the morality of a candidate” -- they are still on the wrong side of the questions! It only goes to show how Regressive and Repressive the Reprehensible Repuglican agenda really is in the end! Need I remind you, sometimes the window that opens actually indicates the morality of one who dares to “hope,” one who would like to “change” the imperfections of mankind! One historical example: Illinois Governor Cancels Death Sentences … Governor Ryan said he supported a state’s right to execute dangerous criminals when he took office four years ago … his position began to change after studies found that thirteen prisoners sentenced to death in Illinois should be released. The studies identified mistakes in the way those prisoners were tried. They also found new evidence that cleared some prisoners of charges.” Executing the innocent has never been and will never be a “moral” act!

I’ve heard a lot about “sexism” from the various mainstream corporate media pundits and so-called “news” anchors lately. There has been much said regarding “sexism” and misogynistic bias in the pre and post primary campaign. I contend that the sexual bias and male dominance in our society actually comes from the Judeo-Christian religious belief that men are the head of the household, and as such they are the supreme beings on earth in human form! The bias that this religious connotation dictates has permeated every corner of our society and our lives, from home to politics, from workplace to commonplace, from unequal pay scales, to inequities in promotion, women have been relegated to second place citizens since time began! With all thanks to my grandmother and my mother, who were feminists before feminism was even a twinkle on the horizon, I was raised to believe that all men and WOMEN are created equal, and I have always believed that every good man has been completely dependent on an even better woman! I have grown weary of the “Stepford wife” syndrome promoted and proliferated by the portrayal of the Repuglican silent and socially acceptable picture of the good little woman standing behind her man!!!
