BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

"The House Judiciary Committee threatened Thursday to subpoena former White House adviser Karl Rove if he does not agree by May 12 to testify about former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman's corruption case." Enough with the threats already, it's time to get down to business and way past time for that "frog-march in handcuffs"!

"Ricardo Sanchez, the commander of U.S. Forces in Iraq in 2003-2004, has written a new memoir, Wiser in Battle: A Soldier's Story, an account of his life and his service in Iraq. Sanchez was a three-star general -- and the military's senior Hispanic officer -- when he led U.S. forces in the first year of the war. He was relieved of his command by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in 2004 following the revelations of the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison. In 2005, Marine General Peter Pace, the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called him to say his career was over and he wouldn't get the promotion to a full general -- four stars -- that Sanchez says he was promised. Six months later, at Rumsfeld's request, he showed up at the Pentagon for a meeting with the defense secretary shortly before retiring. In this exclusive excerpt, Sanchez details what happened next:" This is one book that will make for an interesting read!

"'D.C. Madam' found hanged". Just have to wonder exactly "who" has her appointment book now!

"Straight talker", HA, John McCain is just another Repuglican LIAR! What sounded good on the campaign trail; "A couple of weeks ago, John McCain talked about the importance of increasing the size of the U.S. military. To entice more volunteers, he said, the government should focus on incentives: ‘[O]ne of the things we ought to do is provide [the troops with] significant educational benefits in return for serving.'", turns out to be just another "30 second sound bite", "A few days later, McCain announced that he'll oppose a bipartisan measure to renew and expand the GI Bill for a new generation of veterans." There's more flip-flopping in John McCain than a mackerel on the end of a fishing line!

"I will continue to say that I think that ad should not be run," McCain said. "But I won't continue to try to be the referee here." For God's sake put a sock in it already, everyone knows you are delighted with the negative ads, everyone is on to the scam you're pulling! Pretending to be above it all is a typical Repuglican ruse and so transparently ridiculous, especially when you've added, "I saw yesterday some additional comments that have been revealed by Pastor Wright..." to the conversation! All Repuglicans are hypocrites, and you McCain are the biggest hypocrite of them all! Your whole persona is politically manufactured and we know it!

What have we become when the number of "deaths" up or down, becomes a measure of success or failure? The "surge is working, the number of casualties is down" is probably the most illogical statement ever made, for even one death, if it happens to be someone you loved and cherished, is devastating! To render even one death statistically valueless by a lower number is without a doubt insane and unacceptable. Statistics are incapable of reflecting the value of mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, and friend; the death of even one is a loss!
