The results on last night’s debate are in, and the losers are George Stephanopoulos, Charlie Gibson, and ABC NEWS! "... a shameful night for the U.S. media." “ABC Owes Reverend Wright a Public Apology: The single most offensive question asked so far in the 2008 presidential contest was teed up last night by ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos …”. “In Pa. Debate, The Clear Loser Is ABC.” “… ABC News was more interested in the primetime programming of a political passion play than some dull, dry distraction of a substantive debate.”

The pretense of debate last night perpetuated mainstream corporate media’s fixation on tabloid smear and scandal! Here is one journalist who is on to mscm’s scam; “With your performance tonight -- your focus on issues that were at best trivial wastes of valuable airtime and at worst restatements of right-wing falsehoods, punctuated by inane "issue" questions that in no way resembled the real world concerns of American voters -- you disgraced my profession of journalism, and, by association, me and a lot of hard-working colleagues who do still try to ferret out the truth … it's even worse than that. By so badly botching arguably the most critical debate of such an important election, in a time of both war and economic misery, you disgraced the American voters, and in fact even disgraced democracy itself.”

Some interesting truths regarding Rev. Jeremiah Wright that mainstream corporate media overlooked in their zeal to negatively present the Rev. to the American people and belittle Barack Obama! “… obviously ignorant about Wright’s background … Jeremiah Wright gave up his student draft deferment in 1961, left college after two years and entered the Marine Corps, eventually becoming a part of the 2nd Marine Division … it was a time when racial discrimination prevailed, a time before the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a time when the obstacles placed on Black people were onerous and many in number. After serving two years in the Marines, Wright transferred to the Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian. He then trained as a cardiopulmonary technician and graduated number two in his class. Wright holds three White House commendations for his work as part of the team that took care of President Lyndon Johnson and other senior U.S. officials at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. After six years in the Marine Corps and Navy, Wright returned to college and became a minister. None of the people in the Presidential debate has exhibited anything remotely close to the patriotism exhibited by Wright.”

Just when you think things can’t get any more bizarre about the Bush family than it already is, guess what: “Neil Bush, the Rev. Moon, Paraguay and the U.S. Dept. of Education …The 'greatest weirdest Bush Conspiracy' … Travels with Moon … Ignites COW.” Oh, those Bushes, always on the ready to take advantage of capitalistic opportunity!

Anti-Semitism is found in some of the most unusual places and certainly isn’t limited to Iranian president Ahmadinejad. This time it’s standing proudly right next to smiling George and Laura Bush! And just in case you are unaware, “Meet Chung Hwan Kwak, the number two man to the Reverend Moon, Washington Times owner. Mr. Kwak is the corporate official directly in charge of the conservative paper. A new photo finds him with the Bushes.” Mr. Kwak had this to say: “In 2003, echoing his master's anti-Semitic teachings, Kwak told an audience that Hitler carried out the Holocaust with ‘God's permission.’ ‘Judaism committed a historical sin in front of Jesus, so Jewish people experienced the Holocaust under Hitler. Without God's permission, would it really have been possible for Hitler to do such a massacre?'" Where’s the outrage, where is the condemnation, where indeed is mainstream corporate media, when the horror of Iranian president Ahmadinejad’s anti-Semitic opinion is found to exist right here in the United States of America, schmoozing with George W. Bush, no less?

I watched the “debate” last night, and was amused over the flak regarding the “flag lapel pin.” I wonder how many people are aware that most of the politicians wearing that pin these days are the ones who sought “deferments” or who joined the National Guard during the Viet Nam era? These are the men who didn’t have the cajones to put their courage where their lapel pin is, they didn’t have the nerve to go to war in defense of their country! And in case you hadn’t noticed most of them are not sending their sons and daughters to fight the war in Iraq! A LAPEL PIN DOES NOT EQUAL PATRIOTISM, it is another Repuglican façade, a diversion, a psychological method to portray that which they are not, it is a pretense. And frankly I am proud that Barack Obama has not joined them in their efforts to flim-flam the American people! How patriotic is it to actually support an illegal unnecessary preemptive war? In my opinion bringing our soldier sons and daughters home from Iraq is the real patriotic thing to do!
