What Happens If Bush Tells "Heck of a Job Brownie" to Lie and the Media Doesn't Care?

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

Okay, on the anniversary of Bush's Katrina debacle, "Heck of a Job" Brownie tells all and reveals that Bush and the White House told him to lie and take the heat for the Katrina executive branch fiasco.

Although we never ceased to be amazed at how the mainstream media generally follows a White House script, we sometimes do become just a BIT jaded and cynical.

But if you have the former fired head of the Arabian Horse Association turned political hack appointee to run FEMA accusing the President of the United States of asking him (through WH staffers) to lie for "El Caudillo," that would appear to us to be pretty big news.

We're wrong again.

In fact, we could only find three non-mainstream sites with any reference to the accusation on Google, including one that we posted from a newsite from India!

So, we have to go across to the Indian subcontinent to find a paper that posts an article about how Bush had his incompetent FEMA Director fall on his sword for the president, while the president praised the clueless FEMA Director for doing a "heck of a job," while Bush knew that his administration's response was an abominable horror.

We were unexpectedly surprised, however, to see that the New York Times is finally reporting on the reality and truth surrounding a Hollywood-set Bush photo-op -- at least in one paragraph and about one event: "Mr. Bush delivered his remarks at an intersection in a working-class Biloxi neighborhood against a carefully orchestrated backdrop of neatly reconstructed homes. Just a few feet out of camera range stood gutted houses with wires dangling from interior ceilings. A tattered piece of crime scene tape hung from a tree in the field where Mr. Bush spoke. A toilet seat lay on its side in the grass."

You read the New York Times article about Bush's attempt to rewrite Katrina history and wonder how did the truth accidentally get inserted into NYT coverage of a White House PR event?

So Bush tells "Heck of a Job Brownie" to lie -- and no one in the mainstream media appears to care a whole lot?

The mainstream media's motto appears to be: don't bother us with the truth. It's much more complicated to report. Lies are a lot easier and faster to write up. The truth just makes our jobs harder.

You just got to feel for them, don't you?

What's truth got to do with it?

Here's a definition of "mainstream" from Webster's: belonging to or characteristic of a pricipal, dominant, or widely accepted group, movement, style, etc.. Here's a defintion of "medium": an intervening agency, means, or instrument by which something is conveyed or accomplished. So mainstream media is an intervening agency or instrument of a dominant group by which "something" is conveyed. When the dominant group are crooked Republicans, the "something" ain't gonna be the truth.

Too Busy Covering JonBenet Ramsey

The mainstream media made an absolute ass of itself in their frenzy over the JonBenet Ramsey debacle. They were so busy in their complete obsession with a 10 year old murder that nothing else was important. As for anyone seeming to care about administration lies... Too many too count and too many people don't seem to care. Citizens now expect to be lied to consistently. So they just accept it like tired little sheep. If we vote the same old bunch back into office then we deserve whatever we get. Unfortunately the same voters who gave us this bunch of clowns will go to the polls again. And the people who could make a difference will stay home whining that they can't make a difference. What a sad, sick, excuse for a nation we have become.

What Happens If Bush Tells "Heck of a Job Brownie" to Lie and the Media Doesn't Care? ****** I'd be outraged, of course... EXCEPT IT'S DROWNIE. I can't believe anything that comes out of that twerp's mouth. He's a self-aggrandizing narcissist who has never faltered once in making Katrina about himself. Frankly, if he tried to rehab himself and told me Dick Cheney and Bush had sodomy in the Oval Office during the flood I wouldn't write it up. Screw him.

Depends Upon What We Do About It

The media ain't going to change because it's nothing but a megaphone for the powers that be. So we can keep hammering away at the so-called fourth estate but nothing's gonna come of it. What then? We the people change the world, that's what. And that'll take more than telling it the way it is, because there also has to be a vision of what would be, could be, will be - When there's liberty, justice and equality for all and government that's truly of the people, by the people and for the people.

Bush tells heck of a job-

Bush and his pals are quickly destroying OUR Nation. Have you read about the superhighway being built bisecting our Nation, run my Mexicans and built by Spaniards? This is the end of any resemblance of national borders. Without borders there is no nation. Soon we will read that all leaders are holding hands explaining how much better off our country will be with cheap Mexican trucking, labor, goods and services- really? So who among us will have jobs to buy anything but the cheapest? Bush is a traitor. Surely among all Buzzers there are lawyers willing to establish dozens of lawsuits to attack this traitor and those who may not be untouchable... surely something to be done.

they wanted a race riot

The reason those people died in NO with little or no Fed help was because the Bush people were waiting for black on white violence to errupt. That would give the Republican propaganda machine, led by right wing talk radio, months of racist ammunition leading up to the election which they are desperate to win, steal, or cancel- at any cost. Remember all the false rumors of violence? Rush Limbaugh explained the Republican sentiment toward the victims of Katrina when he said that all the people in NO had the same opportunity as everyone else to be rich enough to buy an SUV to be able to evacuate. In the first interview Bush did after Katrina hit he couldn't wait to warn looters of a "zero tolerance" policy for looting even though it was obvious much of the looting then was for basic survival purposes. They were waiting and waiting to go in with force to challenge posse comitatus and save white people from massacre. That didn't work but they went went on with the rest of the strategy leading up to the elections- villify immigrants so all brown people will be easier to challenge and purge from the vote.

Subliminal Propaganda?Doctored photo? on 60 min sunday 8/27/2006

THIS IS FROM "60 MINUTES" ON CBS SUNDAY NIGHT 8/27/2006. SPCIFICALLY THE PIECE ON REBUILDING NEW ORLEANS AFTER KATRINA. THEY SHOWED APPARENTLY ALTERED PICTURES OF THE DEBUTANTE BALLS, WITH PEOPLE STANDING BEHIND THE WOMEN WHILE WEARING WHITE HOODS, AND THEN MINUTES LATER SHOWING THE SAME PHOTOS WITH NONE OF THE HOODED FACES BEHIND THE DEBUTANTES.

There are camps full of displaced NO brown people

Camps that allow the media no access and forbid the detainees to speak to the media. I believe it was Air America whiich recently tried to get a story on this. You can bet these detainees aren't going to get their votes in.

Maybe Lincoln was wrong

Maybe, with the concerted help of the media, you can fool most of the people, most of the time.

We'll find out on the first Tuesday in November.

I am the last person to believe conspiracies theories, but I think your earlier headline about the Thailand pervert who didn't do it may have had it right. An easy Karl Rove head-fake when you run the federal government with plenty of deniability all around if you get caught. The poor sick bastard probably really DID think he did it. A little Manchurian Candidate game and some ludes in the champagne on the flight back--okay, well maybe now I'm writing a movie script.

All I know is, the war in Iraq stopped for about four days while they tried to find an airplane in Bangkok.

Heckuva job

Juli in JAX says: Why isn't the MSM reporting about the outsourcing of an emergency evacuation plan, paid for by American taxpayers, outsourced by FEMA and the Dept. of Homeland Security to INNOVATIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT Group (big donors to the RNC), as reported by Greg Palast? This outsourced plan never materialized, although already paid for before Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. LSU's and Tulane University's disaster plan was rejected by FEMA, so they could reward more Bush cronies with tax dollars and no accountability. Why wasn't this part of Brian Williams' Katrina Special? Where have all the investigative journalists gone? Only Greg Palast seems to be interested in finding and revealing the truth!

Bingo---where is this story??

Where are the Katrina specials on this? * Buzzflash, hammer them on BOTH of these ignored stories....the Brownie story and the IEM story.

Another whistleblower ignored....(excerpt)

Maybe Buzzflash could interview Palast on this, since again the complicit MSM ignores this story...the NYTimes needs to make the Bush photo ops the STORY, not just tamely report that the cameras are kowtowing to the fake images. Keep spanking the media lapdogs, Buzzflash! HURRICANE EXPERT THREATENED FOR PRE-KATRINA WARNINGS A Greg Palast special investigation for Democracy Now! Monday, August 28. From New Orleans. DON'T blame the Lady. Katrina killed no one in this town. In fact, Katrina missed the city completely, going wide to the east. It wasn't the hurricane that drowned, suffocated, de-hydrated and starved 1,500 people that week. The killing was done by a deadly duo: a failed emergency evacuation plan combined with faulty levees. Behind these twin failures lies a tale of cronyism, profiteering and willful incompetence that takes us right to the steps of the White House. Here's the story you haven't been told. And the man who revealed it to me, Dr. Ivor van Heerden, is putting his job on the line to tell it. Van Heerden isn't the typical whistleblower I usually deal with. This is no minor player. He's the Deputy Director of the Louisiana State University Hurricane Center. He's the top banana in the field -- no one knew more about how to save New Orleans from a hurricane's devastation. And no one was a bigger target of an official and corporate campaign to bury the information...

same thing that happened with Iraq lies

nothing.
