THE FIFTH COLUMNIST by P.M. Carpenter
However tentative, progress is being made on the oft-stalled Obama-Wright front. According to the NY Times' politics blog, The Caucus, "Voices around the blogosphere say they’re tired of the media kerfuffle surrounding" the issue; but more hopeful than that, I found, was that "they also say they’re sick of the expression 'thrown under the bus.'"

Today is May Day, when we celebrate the workers movement. So it's an appropriate time to ask about whether we are getting bandages for our economy or a complete overhaul of our economy?
One area where the Democrats can excel and rule for, let's say, another 20 years is the economy. I don't mean this in the sense of Bill Clinton in 1992, which admittedly is the only time where we had major job growth in the last 30 years.
Even with another run like his, the economy still won't be where it was, in many ways, from the times of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.
As the corporate mainstream media provides wall to wall coverage of a retired minister's comments, it is remaining silent about its use of some 75 embedded Pentagon television analysts. But the twist is that they were -- and are -- supposed to appear to be retired, independent commentators and experts.
As it turns out, however, The New York Times broke ranks and revealed that the so-called military "experts" have really been parroting talking points provided by the Pentagon. In short, instead of providing third party insight, they have been peddling propaganda.

This homemade video spells out how to truly damage our country in a terrorist fashion. Then you realize his list encompasses all the things the Bush Administration has done to us. Brilliant observation!!!
Today is May 1, the 5th anniversary of Bush's "Mission Accomplished" photo-op. But the mission still goes on and on and on.
The frustration and anger of the failed Bush policies stems in some part from that insanely cocky photo-op of Bush flying onto the aircraft carrier in his "uniform."
So put on your marketing thinking caps? Let us know what the banner should say 5 years later.
It could be "What is our mission in Iraq?" or "Bush's tragic legacy." Keep it short and pithy. Give us your best shot.

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT
May 1, 2008
Updated
Hey, Buzz, thanks for posting the "deleted blog" -- seems to have gotten some traction here and there.
But now for today's update: It's simply amazing -- Ms. Reynolds has now deleted all posts from her blog (http://reynoldsworldnews.blogspot.com) back to January 21, 2008 -- this would include the very detailed and lengthy post about Rev. Wright that has been quoted and linked to all over the place. Again, thank you Google cache for not allowing the leaders of Animal Farm to paint over the words on the barn.
A few weeks ago when my husband and I participated in the Texas County Democrat Caucuses as delegates for Barack Obama, we had some very interesting conversations with people. We asked them, why are you voting for Hillary Clinton? What is the appeal? Their answers varied but not a single one of them was based on her policies or her decisions or the actions she had taken while in office or in the White House. One woman told me, "I'm voting for Hillary to give her a show of my support. She deserves it after all Bill put her through." A man, who considers himself a New England Liberal Democrat, was voting for Hillary simply because she is a woman. Still others were voting for Hillary because they are "blue dog democrats" (their line, by the way, not mine) and felt it was the party's position at the time.

In the last few days, both the Israeli military and the U.S. military have fired missiles into homes, in an effort to target what they said were terrorists, in the process killing many innocent civilians.
But what a contrast we see in both the reporting on these events, and in the response within the two countries!
