Caroline Kennedy one of three to be on Obama's VP selection team, a repeat of 2000?

In 2000, some guy named Dick Cheney ran the team to help George W. Bush find a running mate. Somehow he picked some guy named Dick Cheney.

In 2008, Caroline Kennedy is one of three people to run the team that Obama will use to help pick his VP nominee.

Coincidence?

The other two are Eric Holder, a former deputy AG under President Clinton, and the person we already know is a part of the team, James Johnson.

Now you might have thought, "Where have I heard 'Caroline Kennedy' and 'vice president' together in the same article before now?" Well, it was right here at BuzzFlash.com.

Brit Hume mumbles his right-wing schtick into winning the BuzzFlash Media PUTZ of the Week

Brit Hume

For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.

Brit Hume has a contrasting style to Bill O'Reilly: Bill shouts and Hume mumbles.

Of course, they both spout the same FOX News propaganda masquerading as fact. It's just that one is a barroom brawler with a tie and the other is a preppy-type whose claim to fame is that he used to play tennis with George Herbert Walker Bush when he was president.

So It Wasn't All About Hillary?

THE FIFTH COLUMNIST by P.M. Carpenter

For weeks, if not months, the major press has had this lede set in print, like a sure and vulturous obituary: "Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will endorse Senator Barack Obama on [insert day of the week here], bringing a close to her 17-month campaign for the White House."

Seventeen months – the last five of which were little more than a political death watch, full of recriminations and outward blame emanating from the Clinton camp.

Who was responsible for Hillary's fall? It seems everyone was -- everyone, that is, except Hillary, which was quite a trick, since it was Hillary in charge of her fate.

Not easy to just let go after 16 months of the Democratic Party primary

Perspective is a valuable resource, especially when the journey is long. And perhaps for some, the day after the end is too soon. Yesterday was the hangover after the end. The day after the hangover gives you much better perspective.

But as we have seen in the last 24 hours, an extra day does make a difference. For example, Sen. Hillary Clinton has decided to drop out of the race later this week.

McCain Urges Joint Town Hall Meetings With Obama -- Verse-Case Scenario by Tony Peyser

You have to admit this is a novel suggestion
That no other rivals have tried;
I think it's because John can't drive at night
And this way he could get a ride.

Taking up Obama's Biggest Fight -- Against Fears

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS
by Christine Bowman

Barack Obama has wrapped up his Democratic primary campaign. Now he has some other campaigns to win.

The fact is Obama must fight a down-and-dirty challenger, in addition to John McCain. He must knock down a campaign of fear-mongering and innuendo at the same time that he confronts John McCain on the policy and capability issues.

Subject: We Are In Good Shape ... Thank God

I do not think that Hillary is a deranged narcissist...neither do I think Barack is what half of the people call him...I have been getting stupid e mails all day from my dear relative who just cannot stand to see the Iraq war end...I only hope and pray that it does!

I think ... things happen for a reason...I think we were blessed with two able candidates...and some of us remembered that Hillary, not even taking it into consideration at the time, voted for the war...or the resolution...whatever, you want to call it ... it came back to haunt her. Those of us completely against the war...see exactly where the Obama voters are coming from ... and thank God...we had the choice.
