Polls: Americans want Bush Impeached more now than they did Clinton in '99

Lets be real. There has never been a progressive majority in this country. There may never be. The FDR agenda was passed by co-opting the support of a bunch of Dixiecrats who are now being co-opted by the Republicans. Impeachment of Bush is just a distraction. There will still be a Republican in the White House and it will take up all of our time and energy and get us no where.

In order to get progressive issues in the limelight there needs to be education of John Q. Public. That is where "Sicko" is so good. It makes a non-partisan plug for universal health insurance. We need to get the support of a lot of people that should be progressives, but think that progressive is just another name for communist pinko. Socialism isn't necessarily bad and it isn't necessarily what progressives want. But this country spent 50 years in a cold war being brain-washed that the commies/socialists want to take us over, close our churches and put us all in chains.

So we have to discuss the facts and teach the public how they are being tricked. It is good that investigations are proving that the public has been tricked, so that they will want to avoid being tricked again. But progressives must take advantage of this teachable moment. If we spend the next 18 months making sure the issues are discussed and that the truth about these issues is told, the public will do the right thing and vote for the people that will support a progressive agenda. These supporters might be Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, whatever.

The Bushies have already won the war in Iraq. The acts they began will keep this country in chains for 100 years. They and those before them have managed to destroy the "Social Contact" (Read Rousseau, Hume, Locke, Hobbs...) between the people and the government in this country. We have are a society that broke and needs to be fixed and the fix is an informed, empowered citizenry and that means that a lot of work to do and impeachment will not be the best way to do that. But teach people how they need to gather together and make their voices heard and maybe the Congress and the President will stop ignoring us as they have done and are doing -- it is no secret that the American public is overwhelmingly for many progressive ideas, but the legislation to implement what they want never gets passed. We need to change that and if we can't get the government to do so because we voted for people that lied to us and did not properly represent us, then we need to do what working people do in other countries, nationwide actions like stop work, work to the rule, strikes, little legal acts that stop traffic or business as usual, acts that are pre-advertised as to their meaning and intent so that more and more people understand.

I forget who said it, but someone once said that society is like the face of a cliff. The waves pound against its base for hundreds of years and the cliff always seem to be as strong as it was in the beginning until one last wave, not even necessarily a very strong one, strikes against the eroded base and the cliff comes tumbling down to be replaced by the next cliff, different, new and yet still a cliff. If this society is as eroded as I think it has been by the relentless undermining of the Social Contract, then something very small may happen to cause momentous changes. As each of us lives our daily lives, sets examples for those around us and teaches what we can to those that are at a teachable moment, one day, that very small act will happen.

All Clinton wanted to do was take the edge off a little bit. It's tough being the PREZ!

Just ask GWB. He and Cheney has so little to do, their busy stirring up stup! If its not ripping off Iraq, it's the Supreme Court Packing. If it's not Osam and Al-Qa'ada, it's N. Korea and Iran. If it's not China, it's Russia - A-GAIN!!

Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney Just can't seem to stay focused and keep their noses clean!. When they and Rove aren't out messing with presidential elections, Rove is off in Alabama of all places, 'SHOOPING' a Demo Governor who's guilting of SNEEZING IN CHURCH at MOST. And don't even talk about Gonzales!

It's time to wave that Demo magic wand and get those nasty Reps to DISappear. Impeaching Bush and/or Cheney would be a huge waste of time, energy and money AND TIP BUSH, CHENEY AND THE TRILATERAL COMMISSION THAT STUFF ROLLS UPHILL AS WELL AS DOWN.
IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIPPING THE CUP...

Americans just need to get on their hind legs and take care of business just like Bush & Cheney have done, are doing and will do...Only by getting right up in their chest and face with weapons drawn will the Reps back down to the Demos and give up Cheney, then Mr. Bush & Mr. Rove. But Rove is a real easy target - nail him hard, dirty and NASTY and he'll give up his first born!
HE'S THE WEAK LINK, NOT BUSH (TOO @#$%!) AND NOT CHENEY (WILL PASS AWAY SOON...).

As I remember the Clinton impeachment, only the die-hard republicans wanted Clinton impeached. I find it hard to believe only 39% of the US want Bush impeached. It has to be closer to 70%. Bush and his cronies have redefined the words "corrupt" and "inept".
