CNN Proves Our Point! - Story about Protest Wiped From the Web

BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

On Tuesday we linked to a story on CNN about a protest outside of their Atlanta offices.

http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/South/11/24/cnn.protest/index.html

Shortly after we posted the link, CNN pulled the story from their site. We don't know why, but we guess they're above criticism.

Adding insult to information injury, not only did they pull it off their site, after we found a cached version on Google, that one disappeared, too.

Fortunately, we saved a copy of it. (Insert wide grin here)

Since it no longer exists and since it was available in the public domain, here's the article (which can be viewed in this pdf of the cached Google page):

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- More than 80 demonstrators picketed outside CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta Sunday afternoon, saying the network lacks anti-war perspectives in its coverage of the U.S. confrontation with Iraq.

Demonstrators carried signs reading "Corporate Nonsense Network" and "For Sale: Free Press," among others, and chanted "Half the story, all the time" and "Not in our name." The protest was organized by a group of Georgia State University students and anti-war activists.

CNN spokesman Matt Furman said the network "reports from the region and around the world, from all sides," but respected the demonstrators' right to protest.

We posted it in response to the wide reader interest in the contents of the article that CNN scrubbed from the site.
